I don't know if it's normal or not but definitely call your doctor. You don't want to get dehydrated and diarrhea can make you dehydrated very quickly.

I use MyFitnessPal. It's great because I can't remember what I ate 10 minutes ago. It is a very easy way to track protein, fluids, and exercise.

Between chocolate protein shakes, chocolate protein pudding and chocolate calcium chews, I haven't had very many days when I haven't had chocolate since my surgery,

Really, What is the Straight Skinny Post-Op?
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Sunshine3073's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I have been dealing with a food addiction for years. WLS doesn't cure food addiction but all the work I have done related to my food addiction has helped me with WLS. Use all the resources you have available to you. If you haven't already, find a good therapist or counselor and consider exploring something like Overeater's Anonymous (www.oa.org). Your Bariatric program may have a support group. -
HELP! Exercise? How much?
Inner Surfer Girl replied to nn1985's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pre-op I aimed for at least 60 minutes a day. -
Eating before its time ..
Inner Surfer Girl replied to lachellove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, but she is telling us her NUT is telling her NOT to use Protein Shakes or supplements and that she doesn't need to worry about protein until she gets to solid food. This is a first for me. -

no she said not to worry about it til I can eat solids again.Nuts! -
Why parchment paper and foil? Couldn't you just use one or the other? Using both sounds like overkill to me? (Just curious.)

Look through your program documentation and look for any mention of protein requirements. I probably asked before, but did your NUT give you a protein target/goal? -

I would normally agree to follow your NUTs program, but you instructions are so radically different from ANY good post-op advice that I have heard (especially from my awesome surgeon) that my first reaction is that either you misunderstood the instructions or that your NUT is truly nuts! ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1440349382.395711.jpg This is your full liquid stage. My full liquid stage built in my clear liquid stage. What are the instructions for the previous stage? -
Exercise for Pre-op
Inner Surfer Girl replied to MickeyMax95's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a fan of classes. Since you are in college and belong to a gym, you might want to explore some fitness classes. I happen to like Water aerobics. It's great for all fitness levels and is easy on the joints. Depending on your own physical limitations, some things may be better than others. You also might want to consider making an appointment with a personal trainer either at your college or at your gym. There are some great exercise videos on YouTube. If you live in a college campus you can also take advantage of things like intramurals and club sports. Dancing is also a great exercise, whether through a class, at a party or club, or alone in your own room! Just be careful about drinking (empty calories) if you go the party/club route. -

WLS for the "right" reasons
Inner Surfer Girl replied to ShrinkingButtercup's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I knew that with my history of yo-yo dieting that the rebound from the next diet would send me over 600 pounds. Plus, I was disabled from weight-related issues and couldn't live a full and productive life. For me, the decision was life or death. -
9 months post on, slow gradual weight loss...
Inner Surfer Girl replied to nprcowboy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so glad you se to be through your tough time. I would suggest you focus on the basics: get at least 64 oz of Fluid and getting in all your Protein every day. What is your protein goal? Have you been getting at least that much every day? -
The Official What You Will Need For Your Upcoming Weightloss Surgery Thread!

Didn't you already post this on another thread? I just saw a similar question with several answers. Tell your surgeon and don't eat anything else not on your program. -
No eating !
Inner Surfer Girl replied to baylorbears281's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow. There is so much wrong with your post. "Can't do too much harm."? Everything you posted is about self-harm. You need at least 64 oz of Fluid and to follow your NUT and surgeon's program. I would even go so far as to suggest that you make an emergency appointment with your psych, NUT and surgeon first thing tomorrow. I truly hope you aren't living with your boyfriend and also recommend you not be around him until you at least talk with your psych. Maybe he is is just clueless, but to me he sounds much more destructive and controlling than that. Best of luck, but unless you make some major changes right now you are in for a whole lot of trouble. -
pre op effort suggestions
Inner Surfer Girl replied to rejeannern's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you seen your NUT? My Protein goal is 100 grams a day. My NUT said that 100 grams was for anyone over a BMI of 50 and all men. Try drinking at least 64 oz Water a day, eating protein first, eat at least 100 grams protein a day, avoid starches (bread, potatoes, rice, Pasta and starchy vegetables like corn), and avoid added sugar and high fat salad dressings, etc. Eat lean protein and lots of green vegetables. Since you still have a large stomach pre-op, you can eat a lot of vegetables which will help keep you "full". Eating protein and healthy fats will help you be satisfied. -

I would think the protein goal would be the same. If you are doing a supervised diet what have you been advised to do? -

Even though you are pre-op you still need to make sure you are getting enough protein. Your weight loss has probably slowed because you are eating too few calories. -
Sample day of eating
Inner Surfer Girl replied to mimorison's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on clear liquids for the first week after surgery and full liquids the second week. Right after surgery, for several week to a month, I didn't really have "meals". I spent all day sipping liquid, protein shakes, soup, etc. It was pretty much continuous. I could consume such small quantities at a time it would take all day to get in all my protein and fluids. -
What kind of increments are you setting goals for rewards?
Inner Surfer Girl replied to ohjul's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't base mine on specific numbers on the scale. I have been rewarding myself based on when I am physically able to do things. I rewarded myself with a massage this week. It was the first massage I have had in years. I hope to continue to get one at least once every one or two months for now. -
Weight loss and weight redistribution
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Gaelsmom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We have absolutely no control over where we store fat and how we lose it. I also carry most of my weight in my lower body and figured my legs would be the last to go. I have actually seen changes all over my body. What is weird for me is that I have a lot of fluid in my legs and my right leg is much smaller now than my left. I was a bit lopsided before surgery and now there is a much more drastic difference. -

In addition, you might want to start taking extra D3. My program had us start taking it as soon as we started considering surgery. It is especially important for bariatric patients and almost everyone is deficient in D. -
Consultation this Monday
Inner Surfer Girl replied to dmc7399's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My advice is learn as much as you can, ask lots of questions, and be open to using every resource available to you, Take lots of notes. My program gave me a binder to keep all the program materials in. It became my bible. This is quite a life changing adventure. -
Calorie intake

Then aim for 80 grams. Are you also getting in all your fluids?
