    Amazing day.

My pre-op diet was high protein (similar to Atkins phase 1). If you focus on protein then you should be fine.

    Weight Loss

You don't mean literally starving yourself do you? If so, stop that. It will not help your weight loss. Are you getting in all your Protein and Water? Noodles are one of the things (starches) I was advised to avoid. Especially if you aren't getting in your protein.

    yo yo - thinking

I think it is perfectly normal to waiver and second-guess your decision for a while. Just keep researching and taking the step that is in front of you. Journal and talk about your doubts and fears. Ask questions and learn as much as you can. I had an extra long wait for my surgery so by the day of surgery I was at peace and eager to get it over with, yet still a little bit anxious about taking that final step into the unknown. The next thing I knew I was in recovery and on the other side. I haven't regretted it for one second. I hope you are able to find peace with whatever decision you finally make.

    Help

Your hormones are out of whack because you are losing fat (and just happen to have recently had major surgery). It does get better.

    3 year weight history question

They may also consider comorbidities like high blood pressure, sleep apnea, etc. I wouldn't worry about it until your surgeon gets feedback from the insurance company.

    Help

@@BLERDgirl is absolutely right. Not eating is the worst thing you can do. You need to be sipping protein and water like it's your job.

    First meeting with NUT

Your NUTS instructions sound very similar to mine. Here are some of the things I did pre-op to prepare. -weaned myself off of caffeine and carbonation gradually -increased my Water consumption -practiced slowing down and eating mindfully -tried some Protein shakes (you can order sample packs from various manufacturers -- some free and some for a small price) -started gathering supplies (food scale, measuring implements, small dishes and storage containers) -took a Multivitamin, D3, and Iron supplement as instructed by my doctor and surgeon -exercised at least an hour every day. I had mobility issues so I got an exercise pedaler to pedal with my hands while watching tv. I also got some exercise bands and light-weight Dumbbells and -read and learned as much as I could about the surgery You have plenty of things you can do without following a strict diet before surgery. Your pre-op diet will get here soon enough.

    Going crazy and scared

I agree with @CowgirlJane. You can't compare yourself with anyone else. If your surgeon is happy with your progress then that should be the only opinion that matters.

    Journey advice.

Learn as much as you can about all aspects of your decision. Take notes, read, ask questions, and read some more.

    My Doctor faked my surgery!

Except this is a terrible inflammatory title. You have your surgeons name in your profile and you are accusing them of malpractice. You also have to be aware how much people hate click-bait. There is a fine line.

    Something must be wrong

They are good and just happen to be good for you, too.

    My Doctor faked my surgery!

I had a relatively easy recovery, too. It was a challenge getting in my Protein and fluids, especially early out, but I just keep sipping. Everyone has different thresholds for pain, different surgeon's, and different reactions and recoveries.
  16. What does your NUT and surgeon's food plan say? I was allowed more than just broth for my one week Clear liquids phase. My second week was full liquids. If you are unclear about what you can have why not give your NUT a call?

I'm still on Actigall. I was prescribed it for the first six months after surgery.

    8 month stall

Wow, only aiming for 30 grams of Protein, I am surprised you have lost as much as you have up to now. Your body must be starving. I have never seen anyone with a protein goal of less than 60 grams.

    8 month stall

Based on your post and you NUTs advice, this is your answer: Track your food and make sure you are getting enough protein (no maybes about it). Make time for some exercise. Cut out, or cut back on, the empty calories like wine.

    Fat People programs

Edited to add: Here is a link to the scale clip. Tell me you haven't wanted to do this? http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/sister-wives/videos/janelle-and-the-scale/

    Fat People programs

This is a bit of a rambling monologue. Its not exactly a Fat Person Program, but another of the guilty pleasures programs I watch is Sister Wives. Its a reality show that follows the Brown family, a polygamist family who currently lives in Las Vegas. For anyone who follows the show, you may have noticed that all of the sister wives seem to have had weight fluctuations throughout the run of the show. One season, they even focused on health and weight loss because they were contemplating buying a gym. This past week there was a special episode focusing on Janelle's story. Janelle is the sister wife and television reality TV person that I most-identify with when it comes to my weight and personality. She is an introvert who is fairly analytical and likes to avoid conflict -- just like me. I think, like me, she is a stress eater and tends to gain the most weight when under tremendous stress. I wouldn't have considered putting her under the "fat people programs" header except that in the review episode, they showed the scene where she weighed in at the gym and the trainer announced out loud, in front of everyone, her weight and her BMI (I would have killed him). She has inspired me to see her become more active and healthy over the last couple of seasons. It even seems like she is doing some more psychological work that probably goes hand-in-hand with her physical efforts. One of my favorite scenes of the whole series was when her trainer had her take a sledge hammer to her scale. It was a very satisfying event not only for her, but for me as a viewer. In a lot of ways, the show is a bit of a train-wreck -- one I can't look away from -- but for someone who is going through the weight loss journey, I look for inspiration everywhere.
