    It works wraps

I'd rather spend my money on something beneficial like a massage or a pedicure, but that is just me.

    Struggling with boredom eating

Can you take a walk? If so, get up and take a short walk. Go to the bathroom. Fill your Water bottle. Try to drink water when you feel like eating. Is there a task you can do? Clean out a drawer or file? Delete some email? Make a list? Make a schedule? Do some stretching and/or desk calisthenics? Return phone calls? It depends on your work environment how creative you can get.
  3. I know that with severe depression, the most dangerous time for suicide is not when someone is severely depressed, but when they start to come out of it. When you are severely depressed you may contemplate suicide but you don't really have the capacity to act. As you improve, your capacity to act improves. I can't help but think that this might have something to do with the findings of the study.
  4. Here is an interesting article about the importance of mental health services before and after weight loss surgery. I think there are many reasons for the findings in this study, but the recommendations for follow-up care seem like good ones. Weight loss surgery linked to suicide? http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/07/health/weight-loss-surgery-suicide/index.html What do you think?

    Party Appetizer----(pureed stage)

I like the suggestions above: guacamole, bean dip, pimento cheese, etc. I would add hummus to the list. Another great appetizer is baked cheese. You could do a baked Brie, mozzarella, feta, cream cheese, or other baked cheese appetizer.
  7. I think a lot of people see improvement in their health issues. I know most of mine are improving at 6 months post-op. What you see on these boards is anecdotal, so most of the folks are going to post when they need help. Not necessarily when they are out living life. But, you will find lots of success stories here, you just have to look.

why remodeling is alot like WLS

I'll add, it always costs more than your budget but if you choose a good team, are ready to take the plunge, and do your homework, the results will be better than you ever imagined.

    Any regrets?

No regrets. I was never a big drinker before surgery, so I have never felt the need to drink to feel like I was enjoying life. I don't miss the occasional margarita, beer, or glass of wine that I used to have. You may be surprised how little you "need" alcohol to enjoy listening to your husband play. I really don't miss eating junk. I don't miss the cake and ice cream that the rest of the family ate last night at our impromptu picnic. I did allow myself one crescent roll with butter, but it was after I ate my Protein and some vegetables. For me, now that I have truly gotten the junk out of my system, I don't crave it and it doesn't appeal to me.

    Bougie Size?

I am not not aware that this something you need to worry about. I had an outstanding, highly skilled surgeon. I asked lots of questions for my own knowledge, but I had implicit faith in his ability to do his job, which includes choosing his surgical instruments. I have no idea what bougie size he used, nor do I care.

Where are all the single cat ladies?

I am a single "cat lady", but I just don't currently have a cat. But, I also don't post on dating websites and am not currently dating. Maybe there is something in the idea that we are content.

The STRICT ones in first year......

No carbs is unrealistic and unhealthy in my opinion. I avoid starches for the most part, most of the time (rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, etc). You do need some carbs. The goal is to be healthy.

Real Food, Real Weightloss, Still Delicious

This looks good. I do have what may be a silly question. Would I have to change anything (temp, etc) if I made this in a muffin tin in a toaster oven? I don't have a bagel pan.

Very interesting. We really do learn something new every day. Thanks for sharing.

    Outpatient

Mine was technically outpatient even though I spent the night in the hospital. I was told it was outpatient up to 24 hours after surgery. Then, they have to decide whether or not to let you go home or admit you. I was doing well enough to go home.
  16. I know I have seen a similar post to yours in the past on this site, but it has been a while. Try doing a search and see what you find. I can't imagine that a lapband would have a long-term impact on your singing. Your abdomen might be a little bit sore immediately post-op, though. Best of luck.
  17. When I was on my soft food stage I ate a lot of yogurt and cottage cheese. Do you have a refrigerator at work? If not, you could take an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack.

    NSV -- Bathing Suit

I have been able to find good suits from Woman Within. They seem to have a wider range of available sizes than most. I like getting the 2-piece tankini's because 1) I have trouble getting 1-pieces over my legs and hips, and 2) you can buy different size tops and bottoms if you need to. Www.womanwithin.com

    Questions bout surgery

Rather than ask for antibiotics (which are way overprescribed) why not just ask your surgeon what they suggest?

Gastric sleeve almost four years later

I agree with @@Elode's question. Your post is unclear and hard to follow. I am assuming you had the sleeve at some point in the past, lost weight, and regained weight. Have you had an appointment with a nutritionist lately? That would be a great place to start. It also sounds like you might benefit from counseling since you are going through a lot of changes. In the meantime, you might want to go back to basics. Are you tracking your food? Are you getting in all your Protein and Water? Are you exercising? Are you taking your Vitamins? More information would be helpful in answering your question.

    When did you introduce carbs?

I was allowed no-sugar added applesauce, peaches and pears with my soft phase.
