    How long for clear liquids?

I had one week clear liquids (with the exception of premier Protein and a couple of ProtiDiet soups), one week full liquids, one week soft foods, one week soft mechanical foods, etc. Did you not receive any nutrition education and/or discharge instructions? Do you have a NUT? What is in your written materials?

Congratulations and thanks so much for sharing your experience. You look great!

Too young to be 300 plus pounds

Congratulations and thank you so much for sharing your story. You are never too young (or too old for that matter) to change your life. I wish you all the best. You have an awesome life ahead of you. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

    What's for breakfast?!

Is that the first time you eat anything after you get up? I was told it's really important to eat within an hour of getting up to get your metabolism going.

How are you doing with exercise?

I swim and do water aerobics, too. I have a pool at home so was able to swim here all summer. I just joined our local wellness center so I can use the indoor pool now that the weather is getting colder.

Psych Eval Monday! But have a concern :(

I agree that you should see if your new doctor can help you get the records. But, I would definitely challenge the outstanding charges, in writing, including the fact that they have attempted to withhold your records. You need a record of your complaint especially if they try to send the charge to collections.

    Left should pain during eating

    Definitely call your surgeon.
  8. Congratulations and welcome to the other side! Just keep sipping and walking. It seems impossible to get everything in but it gets easier every day.

    Nutrition Counseling

If you haven't started your program yet I would hold off. Depending on your personal situation, starting BMI, and insurance, you may need a higher starting weight.

    Girls Night Out!

At 1 week post-op I was on clear liquids. You could see if they have a tortilla soup and just eat the broth.

    ANGRY WITH MY NUTRITIONIST

When you are this early post-op it's all about the texture. Listen to your NUT. If you advance your diet too quickly it can cause damage and set back your recovery. It's not forever.
  12. I didn't go through Norton but wanted to welcome you. I was sleeved on April 20 at Georgetown and live on Danville.

Miserable in need of some great help

You have got to get in your fluid and protein. Call your NUT and/or surgeon today and see what they suggest.

Stress Relief, I need some help!

PS, it would be a good idea to document every time you are asked to do something that would violate labor laws.

Stress Relief, I need some help!

You have got to learn to set boundaries at work. No job and no company is worth your health. They will exploit you as much as you allow and won't lose a second in replacing you if you dropped dead tomorrow.

    Plataeu

Congratulations on giving up the scale. It will make a big difference in your peace of mind. Don't forget that we can only digest about 20-25 grams of protein at a time, so if you amp up your Protein Shake, be sure to divide it up into smaller portions and drink it at different times.

    I gave up today

My process was delayed due to financing issues. Don't give up. As others have mentioned, the time will pass regardless.

    Regret surgery

I do not regret it for a second. I am considerably older than you and so have years of experience dieting and therapy, etc. I had tried everything and knew that if I went on another diet that the weight I would inevitably regain would put me over 600 pounds. This was a last resort for me and was the best decision for me. I recommend that you do as much research as you can. As you read, ask questions, and learn more, you will find the right answer for you. There is a reason the process takes some time. In the meantime, definitely talk to your PCP about your depression.

    I feel depressed

What you are experiencing and feeling is very normal. You cannot compare yourself to anyone else. Every body is different and we all lose at different rates and at different times. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

Surgery on the 12th didn't turn out too well

I am so sorry to hear, but extremely glad they were able to catch your disease before it killed you. My surgeon said that the U.S. Has an epidemic of cirrhosis of the liver due to the over use of high fructose corn syrup. Now that you have been diagnosed, I wish you all the best with your treatment and recovery.

    Advice needed

Great to hear that focusing on getting back to basics has helped. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Is this a stall already?

What you are experiencing is a very normal, necessary, and natural part of the process. We all experience stalls, especially about three weeks after surgery. This will not be your last stall. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

Life is fabulous and so am I!

Congratulations! Sounds like you are doing great. I had my six month follow-up this week and am very happy with my progress. I am not "in the gym", but I have been swimming all summer at my pool at home. I have been to our local wellness center to swim a couple of times recently and am getting ready to join for the winter. I even took an Aqua Insanity class last weekend and kept up which felt great. Personally, I really don't care about what I look like in the pool or the gym and frankly don't think anyone else cares what I look like either. I am there for me. I agree that the most important thing for you is to not lose focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids, especially if you are exercising. Best of luck and keep up the good work.
