    Cold water hurts

Yes, early out I was much better able to drink room temperature water. I am over a year out now and can drink ice water, but still usually prefer room temperature.

A weight plateau after 3 weeks?

Our bodies are complex systems, not simple machines. @@Babbs has a great explanation of the technical/biological reason for the three week stall.

A weight plateau after 3 weeks?

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. If you intend to lose a significant amount of weight, you will experience stalls. Almost everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as directed, exercise when cleared, stay off the scale. And, Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Meals and Snacks Need Help!

I am sorry to hear you are struggling. It would help to know more details. Are you pre-or post-op? What phase/stage are you on? What is your Protein target? Are you tracking your food? What exactly are you struggling with?

I drank V8 during my full liquid phase but not my clear liquid phase.

Need some serious advice from fitness gurus

I am not a fitness guru, but I am a huge fan of swimming: laps, water aerobics classes, water weights, water walking, etc. There is something for all levels of fitness.

    Diverticulitis

I don't know. This sounds like something you definitely need to ask your surgeon.

    Trying

If you can afford the loan payments, then certainly see what you can do to start setting that amount aside in savings now. Since the pre-op process takes a while, you may have a good amount saved by the time you are ready for surgery.
  12. Personally, I would go with the bass, especially if you are in soft foods. But, I love fish!

1.5 years post op-- weight loss stopped

I don't really count carbs. I avoid added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), starches (rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, starchy vegetables, etc.), and fried foods for the most part.

  15. Your calories, Fluid and Protein all seem way too low. Try to consistently get AT LEAST 64 oz of fluid (more is better), and closer to 100 grams of protein (rather than 65). You could even probably have more carbs if they are complex and not starches.

    Center of excellence?

Here is some helpful information about what it means to be a Bariatric Center of Excellence: http://www.obesityaction.org/educational-resources/resource-articles-2/weight-loss-surgery/bariatric-surgery-centers-of-excellence-why-they-are-important-when-selecting-your-surgeon-and-hospital
  17. Try something like Tylenol Cold multisymptom (or something similar). Fluids, chicken Soup, and rest are always a good idea when you are sick!

    Liquid diet hell

Have you tried straining some egg drop soup?
  19. It sounds like you are doing great. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Just focus on following your program and getting in all of your Protein and fluids. Your post is a little unclear. What is impossible? That you have lost 100 pounds in 10 months? That you are stalled? Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

Size? All over the place. I just bought a 24 dress at Talbot's. It's too big on top but I needed the width in the hips/legs. I wish it were longer! I just bought a size 20 Liz Claiborne blazer at Penney's. I really have to try things on. Because my legs are still big I need longer skirts (don't wear pants). My butt is actually shrinking!

I am currently shopping for professional interview clothes. I am definitely in between sizes. The good thing is that I can fit in some plus sized clothes in stores. The bad thing is that there is NO selection. He is absolutely right about separates. I cannot find a basic skirt to save my life. I am actually having skirts made (which I had to do at a much higher weight) because I can't find what I need in stores. I hope tone able to spend a significant amount of money on clothes when I get to goal. I am definitely taking notes on what brands/designers/stores treat me like a human being at my highest weight.

1.5 years post op-- weight loss stopped

Why only 40 grams of protein? What is your protein target? Mine is 100 grams. My surgeon's range is generally 80-100 grams. 40 grams is extremely low. I would worry less about the calories and make sure you are getting enough protein and fluids (AT LEAST 64 oz and even more if you are active).

    Actigall

I think it is pretty standard. I was prescribed Ursodiol post-op. I know it is supposed to help get the gallbladder working again after surgery. I don't think it is a guarantee that the gallbladder won't have issues, though.
