    Dizziness anyone?

Are you getting in all of your fluids and Vitamins? Have you had your blood pressure checked recently? It might be dehydration. It might be blood pressure. I would recommend you make an appointment with your PCP just to be safe.

    Dilly's belly

Congratulations! You look so adorable and happy. I want that Wonder Woman shirt and green dress when I reach goal! Thanks so much for the update. It's inspiring.
  3. Just an observation, but if someone did regain a great deal of weight, chances are pretty good that they are not active on this forum. We are a self-selecting group and chances are pretty good that participating on this forum is 1) very helpful in reaching our goals, and 2) indicative that we haven't given up whatever our experience.

    Why I don't weigh daily !

I weigh infrequently, too. But, one of my biggest scale victories so far is that I CAN step on a scale at the doctor's office with more confidence. No more secrets, no more contortions. To use a cliche: it is what it is.
  5. Have you talked to your insurance company? They may have a list of surgeon's in their network. Be sure and find a center of excellence. Best of luck with your recovery.

    Stalls....

I don't know because I only weighed at my doctor's appointments. Stalls are a natural, necessary, and normal part of the process. The first, most predictable stall usually comes about week three. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Anorexia treatment :(

I am so sorry to hear about your struggles, but this doesn't come as a surprise based on a number of your recent posts. I am thrilled that you are seeking treatment and allowing your therapist and other's to help you, not gain control, but learn to be the best, and healthiest you can be. You deserve nothing but the best for yourself and your family. I know that this journey isn't easy but you have taken the hardest step(s) already. I am praying for you and will envision you happy, healthy, joyous, and free. Please let us know how you are doing and how we can support you when you are able. You are one smart, tough cookie. You can do this.

    Stalls

I don't know for sure because early out I only weighed at my doctor's appointments. If the numbers in the scale are going to determine how you feel about yourself and your journey, then I recommend you consider weighing less often. Focus sidelined. Feeling stuck.

I am so sorry to hear this and am praying, too. I know you must be overwhelmed and scared. I am so glad you were able to catch this now and can only believe that you are on the way to an effective treatment. In my very humble opinion the best thing you can do is take care of yourself. Also, be sure and let your bariatric team know what you are going through so they can be part of your support in keeping you as healthy as possible through this. Sending hugs. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

Sounds good. I like the ProtiDiet protein hot chocolate.

    WORK SHOP

It is probably how to prep for surgery, pre-op diet, etc. Don't be afraid to ask if you are unsure about any of your appointments or requirements as you go along.

    Sugar

This is an interesting little study. http://www.m.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/news/20151027/cutting-sugar-from-diet-boosts-kids-health-immediately-study?ecd=soc_fb_102815_news_kidssugardiet
  13. What is your Protein target? Do you track your food? Are you reaching your protein and Fluid goals every day (at least 64 oz water/fluid)? Are you taking the recommended Vitamins and supplements? Do you exercise regularly? Have you talked to a NUT? Are you having your blood work monitored? Either you are on a very long stall or you are in maintenance. If you want to continue to lose, then you need to assess what you are doing.
  14. Congratulations and Happy Anniversary! I want to thank you for sharing your inspirational story in your book. You have inspired me to want to write about my experience, too.

Anypne stuck with weight loss ? Day 29

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process. The first, and most predictable stall, is usually around the third week after surgery. This won't be your last. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

3 Mos postoperative no loss for 30 days

Stalls are a normal, necessary, and natural part of the process. As you approach your goal weight you may experience longer and more frequent stalls. The important thing is whether or not you are following your program. Are you getting in all of your Protein and fluids? Are you taking the recommended Vitamins and supplements? Are you exercising? If yes, then Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Your thoughts?

I will caution you that comparing yourself to others is dangerous. Mostly because we don't have the whole story. Maybe her portion of the chicken pot pie is the insides with mostly chicken, maybe not. If what she is doing is working for her, great. All you can do is focus on yourself. Are you following your surgeon's program? Are you getting in all of your Protein and fluids? Are you taking your recommended Vitamins and supplements? Are you exercising?

    Denied by Aetna

So sorry to hear this. I recommend you write down every interaction you have had with them and every inconsistent statement so you have a record for your appeal.
  19. I agree about the exercise peddler. I got one pre-op and peddled it with my hands while I watched TV. Chair exercises, hand weights, resistance bands, calisthenics: anything you can do to move your hands, arms, upper body are good options.

    Anyone try jalapeños peppers?

I eat jalapeños, salsa, siracha, etc. but in small amounts. As in introducing all new foods, take it slowly and in small amounts and see how it goes.

    The Plateau From Hell

Stalls are a normal, necessary, and natural part of the process. They are only aggravating if you allow them to be. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Preconceptions on Surgery

Only you and your surgeon can decide if surgery is the right solution for you right now. Keep researching and talk with your doctors until you are comfortable with your decision. Your friends don't need to have a say. In the meantime, one thing that concerned me was when you talked about restricting calories to under 800 per day and exercising 4-5 times per week. An important thing I learned through this process is how badly served I had been by traditional diets and dieting advice throughout my life. It turns out that most, if not all of that was a big cause of my yo-yo dieting and wrecked metabolism. Whether or not you decide to have the surgery, I recommend you find a good bariatric nutritionist who can help you design a healthy eating plan. One that takes into account your activity level and lifestyle. It also wouldn't hurt to talk with a counselor or therapist, and attend support group meetings. Best of luck with your decision.
