Welcome! This is a great place for information and inspiration. May I ask if there is a particular reason someone suggested you seek a support group?

    New to all the things!

Welcome! You are in the right place. This is a great place to learn. Read, and ask questions until you are comfortable with whatever decision you make. It took me a long time to come to the point of even considering surgery, but once I started learning about what WLS is like today, as opposed to old information and misconceptions, the more comfortable I became. By the time surgery day came I was ready to get it over with!
  4. You have done the best thing you can to address the issue. Please don't let this derail your efforts and focus. You just have to trust that what is supposed to happen will happen. I doubt seriously anyone will be combing through such a long list. I understand your anger and disappointment that your email address was shared but you really need to decide how much energy you want to devote to worrying that someone will see it.

    Huge milestone!

    Congratulations!
  6. I think we ALL need to eat slowly.

    Two weeks post-op

Welcome! It sounds like you are doing great. Getting in your Protein and Fluid is the most important thing right now. You are right on track. Just a heads up, you will probably stall about week three which is completely normal. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    The 3rd Week Stall

Even though your surgeon doesn't require a certain amount of Protein, try to get in as much as you can. It really helps with healing. That said, stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the weight loss process. If you intend to lose a large amount of weight, you will stall. None of us loses at a constant rate. Almost everyone experiences their first stall about three weeks after surgery. It's how our bodies work. If the numbers on the scale are going to dictate how you feel, then I recommend you stay off the scale. Just focus on getting in your protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as instructed, and exercise when cleared. Fresh postoperative

All I can suggest is to just keep sipping. I had good results with ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates straight out of the packet over a bit of crushed ice. I ate it with a spoon.

Driving myself to the hospital...bad idea?

I guess the drawback to driving yourself is that you will have two cars at the hospital unless you can figure out the logistics ahead of time. I was required to have someone drive me home. If he is not going to be there during your surgery he may need to be at least reachable.

    Evening/Night Hunger Tips

Why is it not good to have a small snack before bed? If you are hungry at that time, I would recommend planning to have a small, high protein snack. You might also want to try some hot chamomile tea before you go to bed.
  12. I am over six months out and eat real food most of the time. I use shakes for convenience and/or if I am really behind on my protein.

    Can't stop losing weight...

Don't let it go. Definitely follow up. Have you added more calories to your food plan?

    8 days post op

I was still in full liquids at 8 days out. I was still using Protein shakes, ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrate. ProtiDiet tomato basil and creamy chicken Soups, and V8. I was also allowed cottage cheese and Greek yogurt during my full liquid stage. You should be doing everything you can to get in all of your protein and fluids.

    Any 2015 Irish sleevers?

I am not Irish, but I have an Irish name and have green eyes. I hope you find some fellow Irish folks. I noticed your post title and thought "Irish Sleevers" would make a great name for a band so had to stop in and say "hey" (that is American Southern for "hello") from Kentucky, the horse capital of the world.

    So that happened

You "literally" just documented it (LOL). Now just copy what you just wrote into a document and add names and dates. It may not be a legal document, but it will help jog your memory if you ever have to explain.

    Anyone skipped anti-DVT injections?

I didn't have shot, but did the pills instead. I think it depends on what your insurance pays for or what you can afford in a large part.

Weight gain at barely 2 weeks post op

You've gotten lots of great advice. Just add: Embrace the Stall! http://www.carolana.com/NC/Counties/wayne_county_nc.html

    What a great idea!

    Fruit

OK. Since you posted this in the Bypass forum I assumed you had the bypass.

    Who and when

I had my surgery in Georgetown, Kentucky.

    Anyone skipped anti-DVT injections?

Take this very seriously. I recently lost a friend and colleague to a blood clot. He didn't have Weight Loss Surgery, but he died way too young.

    Fruit

I didn't have bypass (I was sleeved), but I try to have at least one piece of fresh fruit a day. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    So that happened

Wow, that is terrible. I can't believe they would put you in that kind of a situation. I hope you document everything so it doesn't come back to bite you later.
