    Stall in loss?

Congratulations on your 80 pound loss. Without knowing what you are doing it is hard to give you tips. If you aren't happy with where you are why not make an appointment with your NUT to talk about your goals? Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  2. Check with your surgeon's office or the hospital. I was able to get a living will form from the hospital where I had my surgery.

Needing help to make a decision ?

Definitely learn as much as you can and talk to your surgeon about what is best for you. You mention that you take steroids. That is definitely something you need to discuss with your surgeon. Best of luck in making your decision. Keep reading and asking questions.

Have you had a good exam with your PCP lately? How is your blood pressure? Blood sugar?

    Safe Meds List?

I would suggest you read labels and call your surgeon's office to ask them since you are still healing from surgery.

    Getting enough calories

@@bellabloom, I have been following your journey with concern for a while and know you have been seeking help. Just a couple of questions/observations. Can you drink Boost? Rather than bariatric-friendly Protein shakes it sounds like you need something with higher carbs. The anorexics I know who have been in treatment use Boost to get their weight up. Have you found a good eating-disorders therapist or are you still looking?

I want to get a bracelet or necklace with this quote. I've been looking for just the right one on Etsy. I might get it when I hit my half-way to goal milestone.

    Water Help!

Have you tried different temperatures? Have you tried adding Water enhancers like Mio drops or crystal light? Have you tried Herb tea (mint or camomile might be good, soothing options? Have you talked to your NUT? Plain water was probably the hardest thing for me to drink for a long time. All I can suggest is to keep trying different variations and talk to your NUT. It does get better.
  12. I don't know a whole lot about this but I THINK that for me the Sleeve is helping me boost my metabolism by: 1) making it possible for me to exercise regularly; and 2) teaching me to eat in a way that elevates my metabolism rather than depresses it. I truly believe that many of our pre-surgery dieting habits are what have wrecked our metabolisms. (Eating infrequently, eating the wrong foods, not being able to move and be active, etc.) For me, the sleeve has been the only way I have been able to lose any weight in years. I am still early in the process (I was sleeved April 20, 2015) and have a long way to go, but I am thrilled with my experience and results so far.

  14. No. But I have heard of a doctor prescribing exercise. Our local wellness center (affiliated with a hospital) has reduced rates for people who are referred through their doctor either with a prescription or a form they provide to doctors.

    Sleeved on 12/28

Just make sure you are cleared to get in the pool before you do so. I had to wait until my incisions were healed which was about 4 weeks post-op.

    What am I doing wrong?

What they said. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all stall periodically and most of us experience our first stall about three weeks after surgery. What are you doing wrong? I don't know. Are you: Following your program? Tracking your food? Getting in all of your Protein and at least 64 oz. of Fluid? Taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed? Exercising moderately? Weighing infrequently? If you are doing all of these things then you should be fine. If not, why not? How Do You Track Your Food?

How do you set up MyFitnessPal so that it isn't constantly telling you that you are undereating? You either: 1) Don't "complete" your entry at the end of the day; or 2) Ignore the message. It will stop giving you that message when you are able to eat more calories.

    Safe Meds List?

How far out are you from surgery? I was given a whole list of meds I could and couldn't get take and still called and asked my surgeon's office. I am experiencing my first full-blown head cold post surgery. Since I was sleeved in April she said I could take anything. I've been taking Tylenol cold with no problems so far.

    Exertion and energy levels

How long ago did you have surgery? If you are newly sleeved you m Ed to be gentle with yourself for a while. You are recovering from major surgery. Until you are recovered and able to get in more nutrition, I wouldn't do anything too strenuous. What are your post-op instructions? Also, are you following your program? Staying hydrated and getting in all of your program? Have you started taking Vitamins? Have you been cleared for strenuous exercise?

    Calorie intake

What does your NUT advise? What is your Protein target? Frankly, you may not be eating enough. My protein target is 100 grams a day and 900 calories seems low as far out after surgery as you are. Focus on following your program. Track your food and make healthy choices (I avoid starches for the most part). Focus on getting in all of your protein and fluids every day. For me that means at least 100 grams of protein and 64 oz. of Fluid. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. And, exercise. If you doing all of these things and aren't happy with your progress, why not give your NUT a call and make an appointment? The struggle is real and life long

Congratulations on the weight loss and your perseverance. Thanks for sharing your experience. When you say you still feel pain after every meal what does that mean? What kind of pain? Is it pain from eating too much? From acid? What does your doctor say? As you are still trying to lose weight are you still closely following your program? Tracking your food? Tracking your Protein and Fluid goals every day? What does your NUT say? Just curious! You look great by the way!

    Getting enough calories

Since you forget to eat can you plan your meals and snack on your calendar and set an alarm to remind you to eat? Since you can't get enough calories through your meals you may need to plan snacks throughout the day, too.
