    Heartburn

Hmm. I didn't experience this. Just took it as prescribed and didn't have a problem. It is interesting how different each person's experience can be.

    Heartburn

My surgeon prescribed Omeprazol. I would definitely suggest talking with your surgeon about this.

    13 mths post op

Why not make an appointment with your NUT to talk about your goals and strategies for reaching them. In the meantime go back to basics. I would also suggest you find out when the next support group meeting is and plan to attend. You can lose more weight and there is nothing wrong with using all the tools and resources that are available to you. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Week 3 stall

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the weight loss process. If you intend to lose weight, you will stall. Most people experience their first stall about three weeks post op. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Exercise. And stay off the scale. New iced drink recipes

Just a warning/heads up -- just because you love really cold drinks pre-op doesn't mean you will post-op. Right after surgery you may have to try different temperatures to see what works.
  6. I have my first full-blown cold since surgery, too and am taking it easy. As others have said, don't worry about the exercise, just rest and take care of yourself. I have been eating easy food, too like Protein shakes and bars. I also have protein soups (ProtiDiet) left over from my liquid phases and hot tea.

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season

I think the first season or so spanned a longer timeframe. Now, they are for one year, with a lot of that time pre-op and getting ready for surgery. They do go back periodically and do a where are they now episode which is interesting.

Plateau or Danger Signs: What to Expect

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the weight loss process. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all stall and most of us experience a stall about three weeks after surgery. Just follow your program. Weigh, measure and record your food. Make sure you are getting in all of your Protein and fluids every day. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Exercise when cleared. And, stay off the scale! Consider weighing no more than once a week or less often if the numbers in the scale are going to make you crazy. Embrace the stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Ashamed

I understand completely. I decided not to share numbers with anyone. Not even my mother. If some one asks how much I have lost I just say "a lot". If they press for a number I just tell them I don't share numbers with anyone, not even my mother. That usually is the end of it. You don't owe anyone details and frankly I find it rude when people ask about my weight other than to compliment me on how great I look!

    Just got sleeved on 01/05/2016

Welcome! Congratulations on making such big step toward a healthy life.
  12. The worst: not having insurance that covers weight loss surgery and living in a state that doesn't require it under the affordable care act.

    Can you lift weights

You will need to wait until your incisions have healed before being cleared for weight lifting. The risk is that you will wind up with a hernia in your incision/abdominal wall.

Does this sound like a stall?

Stalls are usually when the numbers on the scale don't change for over a week or more. I wouldn't consider the scale not moving for a couple of days a stall, but then again I don't weigh every day. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. If you expect to see the scale move in a downward direction on a daily basis, I suggest you revisit your expectations. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Most people experience their first stall about three weeks after surgery, but it does vary. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Exercise when cleared. And stay off the scale! 17. My suggestion is to go slow and try one new food at a time. Eat slowly, chew thoroughly, and take your time. If something doesn't work, come back to it at another time.

I agree with @Babbs. You need to track what you are eating to know if you are getting enough protein. Calories are really a secondary consideration.

    New iced drink recipes

I really like the ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates, especially while on clear liquids. Each packet has 15 grams of protein. They gave them to me while I was in the hospital recovering. I used them over crushed ice, undiluted initially. You can also drink them diluted with water.

Pill form vitamins 7 months post op?

I can't imagine why not. Have you asked your NUT? I have been taking regular Vitamins all along. My calcium chews are the only chewable a I have ever taken. Oops. I just realized my C is chewable, too.

Thanks for the update. I am glad they were able to figure out what it was and at least treat the pain. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Have you talked to your NUT about your goals? Are you still following your program? Getting in all of your Protein and fluids every day? Avoiding starches? Taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed? Exercising? Without knowing what you are doing its hard to make suggestions other than to go back to basics and talk to your NUT. Feeling lost

I am so sorry you are feeling like this. It must be scary for you to find a lump in your breast but aren't you glad it has been found so it can be tested and treated if need be? You are at the beginning of this journey and will be undergoing a whole barrage of medical tests. If you haven't been to the doctor for a while and/or have been ignoring your health it is entirely possible that they will find other things that you need to address. You can't fix something if you don't know about it. I found for me, it was important to approach this process from a place of fearless honesty about myself, my healthy, and my obesity. Is it uncomfortable? Yes, absolutely. But, if I want to be healthy and get my life back its absolutely vital. It sounds like you use food to numb your feelings. Most of us do or did to various extents. This process is about learning healthy ways to handle stress, uncertainty, and other uncomfortable feelings. Numbing them with food is what is killing us. Since you have been to your first class, have you found a counselor or therapist already? Is there one on staff at your bariatric program? I would suggest you consider talking to a counselor or therapist. You may also want to attend a bariatric support group and/or a twelve-step recovery group like Overeater's Anonymous (OA.org). In the meantime, why not pour the pop down the drain and throw away the junk food? Eating junk won't solve your problem and won't help you feel better in the long run. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

    Sodas

I broke my caffeine/carbonation addiction on two phases. Like you, I was addicted to Diet Coke. I started gradually cutting back on diet cokes and substituting iced tea. Once I was able to break the Diet Coke habit I cut back on the tea and added more Water and decaf tea to gradually decrease my caffeine. In addition to tea, try crystal light, Mio drops, diet lemonade, etc. For me it really helped to do it gradually. You can do this and will really be glad when you successfully break the habit. I know I was and am.
  25. If you are in a stall, have stopped losing, or have gained back some weight, why not make an appointment with your NUT? They are an important part of your bariatric team and can help. I would suggest that if anyone is unhappy with their progress that they go back to basics and make an appointment.
