    My sleeve dec 28 2015

I liked ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates (either in concentrated form over crushed ice or diluted). They gave them to me while I was still in the hospital over crushed ice and I found them really helpful for getting in my Protein. Now, I occasionally add them to my Water bottle. You might also want to try Syntrax Nectars or Isopure. Both are clear protein.

    400+ pounds?

    April 20, 2015.

    Getting butterflies

It was my first surgery and like you I was fearful about what to expect. Frankly, the surgery was the easiest part of the whole process as far as I am concerned. One minute I was being rolled into a bustling operating room and trying to get reasonably comfortable on the operating table and the next minute I was waking up in recovery. It sounds scary, but barring any major complications it really is a pretty routine surgery from everything I can tell.
  4. Awesome! I will admit I looked at job postings while I was there the last time.

    400+ pounds?

My high weight was 565 and thanks to the sleeve I am getting ready to dip below 400 pounds for the first time in years!
  6. The one and only time I played slot machines I played until I lost my $20 and then quit. I only place $2 bets at the horse races. Something tells me that gambling isn't for me. I'll stick to sweepstakes!
  7. I would LOVE to win furniture, especially if I could pick it out. I am going to need a new bed/mattress set soon so that would be an awesome prize. If anyone knows of a drawing for one let me know. Some other biggish prizes I've won are: a rug, a tv, and basketball tickets. I won a box of toys one time that supplied me with birthday and Christmas presents for quite a while. I did win plane tickets but by the time I got them the window to use them was so narrow I never was able to plan a trip. I still had to pay taxes on those which was a bummer. I am pretty selective about what enter to win lately to make sure it's something I really want or could use.
  8. Yes, I paid taxes on it and it was worth every penny.

For the first time in my life...

    Congratulations!
  10. Yes, I won a trip to Hawaii and it was awesome! My major goal/reward for my weight loss is to go back to Hawaii and take surfing lessons. If I could win a free trip it would be even better!
  11. I wonder how many of the 4 million have to do with stalls? My motto is you can't win if you don't enter. The best thing I have ever won was a trip to Hawaii. As I lose weight I am feeling more optimistic about entering sweepstakes for trips. I am itching to travel!
  12. How cute! You look awesome and very stylish. I love the boots.

    Massage

One of the rewards I looking forward to is the ability to get a massage. Once I feel confident I can get up on a table I am going to schedule my first massage in years. I want to eventually be able to get regular massages. I THINK I might be about 30 pounds from scheduling one. Here is a good article about the benefits of massage. https://experiencelife.com/article/mmm-massage-surprising-ways-massage-heals-the-body-and-mind/#.VUvVVRSDKPE.twitter Does anyone get a regular massage or plan to get one post-WLS?

    I'm not a troll, I'm just new.

Welcome! You should feel very proud of yourself. We are a fairly good group of people if a little bit nutty. I am sorry you felt like you were treated badly. We do get overprotective at times. If I remember correctly you had some extra premier Protein you were willing to give away. You might want to consider taking it to your surgeon's office or a support group meeting. I hope you stick around. This site is a great source of information, encouragement, and inspiration. It's also pretty entertaining.

    Questions

Are you reaching your protein target? I like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna, turkey, cheese sticks, avocado, etc.

    Stall

It takes as long as it takes. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process. Just follow your program. Get in all of your Protein and Water. Take your Vitamins. Exercise. And, stay off the scale. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Excessive weight regain

What can be wrong? Who knows. Without more information about what you are doing it's impossible to say. My guess is that you aren't following your program and are eating too much. That is generally why we gain weight.

    What’s Your Attitude Towards Carbs?

I try to avoid starches and white carbs for the most part. I do occasionally have a bite here and there but its more as a garnish than the main focus of my meal like they would have been pre-op.
  19. Maybe it is related to the adage: what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. The whole process is a huge opportunity for personal growth and development outside of the physical benefits of losing weight. It is stressful but also rewarding.

The Key to Weight Loss Success - Part One

Thanks for the reminder. For me, learning to keep things in perspective really helps to make life more manageable.
  22. 2 days of no change on the scale is not a "stall".

I am a gastric sleeve failure

You are still asking for help so you haven't failed. Whether or not you fail to reach your goal YOU are not a failure. If you gave up trying (which to me means you stopped following your program) what makes you think you would have more success with a bypass? When you hit a stall with the bypass, if you stop following your program, the same thing would happen unless you do something different. I would suggest that you make an appointment with your NUT today to talk about your goals and go back to basics. Follow your program. Track your food. Avoid starches. Reach your Protein and Fluid target every day. Take your Vitamins and supplements as instructed. And, exercise. You get to decide whether or not you are committed to losing weight. I would also suggest you make an appointment with a counselor or therapist. See if the therapist who originally cleared you for surgery can see you or refer you to someone. You can do this! Lettuce

I am about 8 months out and don't even try to eat lettuce. I MAY have had one or two lettuce leaves here and there but I don't really attempt it. I have had a few spinach leaves but it was probably closer to six months than three. I know that a lot of folks have trouble digesting lettuce.

    What can I do with...Avocado?

Maybe I should be investing in an Avocado farm!
