Have you met with your NUT to go through your food logs to see if he/she has any suggestions or strategies?

    Headache after surgery

That was a major reason I weaned myself off of caffeine and carbonation gradually well before surgery. I didn't want to go through caffeine withdrawal after surgery. I know right after surgery it is hard to get in your fluids, but keep sipping. Staying hydrated will help.

    Weight loss stand still..

Congratulations on the weight loss. Even though it is exciting to see losses of 2-3 pounds of day, that doesn't last. None of us loses at a constant or steady rate. We all experience slow downs in weight loss and even periodic stalls. If you are losing, even if it is 1-2 pounds a week, you are not in a stall. Everyone does stall and most folks experience their first stall or slow down about three weeks after surgery. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids. Take your Vitamins and supplements as recommended. And, exercise. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Embrace the Stall

Bumping because we seem to have a whole new group of folks experiencing their first stall.

    Firming lotions

I just use body oil when I get out of the shower. Palmer's Cocoa Oil or Neutrogena Sesame Oil are my favorites right now. I also have been using a locally-made goats milk belly balm on my tummy (mostly because it smells great and feels really good). Drink lots of Water, eat Protein, take your Vitamins, and stay moisturized. It just takes time for your skin to catch up as much as it can.

    Movies, popcorn cravings...

Water. Cheese sticks are a great idea. A protein bar if you are cleared for them.

    A new milestone

    Congratulations! That is exciting!

    What can I do with...Avocado?

I'll keep that in mind for when I am able to eat sandwiches.

    I need help

My primary focus is reaching my Protein target every day. I don't necessarily count carbs, but do choose lower carb options and avoid starches for the most part. I still eat a lot of turkey, tuna, cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc.

    Everything Bagel Spice

I've thought about getting some everything bagel mix before to put on cottage cheese. I wonder what it would taste like on roasted vegetables?

    What can I do with...Avocado?

Next time I'll have to buy more than two. Thanks for all of the great suggestions!

    Frustrated with People

This post just reminded me of how dysfunctional that military hierarchy can be, especially with civilians who don't sign up for that kind of environment. Some of the worst stories I have heard are from daughters who struggle with weight and have had fathers who are in the military. It may be normal to treat people badly in the military but it doesn't make it healthy or right.

    New to this group

Welcome and best of luck with your surgery. @@rking, gave you some great advice. What are the guidelines for your pre-op diet? What can you have? Focus on what you can have and not what you can't. Herb tea and Water flavored with water enhancers can be really helpful. As my NUT said, it isn't forever. You WILL get to eat again. Just remember that everything you are asked to do is for your benefit. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Happy New Year to you, too! I am doing great, except for a nasty head cold which sucks.

    Sugar-free cough drops

Thanks for the Ricola recommendation. I just went to CVS for more cold medicine so picked up a bag.

    Is it really worth it?

Based on my experience and knowledge complications are just that. Complications. They are the exception and not the rule. One thing that really helped me was to make up my mind to do everything I was asked to, even if I thought I couldn't. (I didn't want to wind up like Penny from My 600 Pound Life). I think that willingness made a huge difference in how well I recovered. Trusting in the people providing care and the process worked for me. I was sleeved April 20 of 2015 and couldn't have asked for a better experience, recovery, and progress. Best of luck with your surgery. As long as you do your part, you just have to believe that everything will work out for the best. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

    How sad is this?

See if you can go anyway. I bet you have a lot you can share as well as learn. I started taking a nutrition class through our county extension office. It has been interesting. I have learned a lot, been reminded about a lot, but also have been able to share my experience with several people. Just introducing folks to MyFitnessPal was much appreciated.

3+ years post op having issues

I agree, this definitely sounds like something you need to see your surgeon about. Don't put it off.

    Stall

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the weight loss process. Everyone stalls periodically and most people experience their first stall about three weeks after surgery. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids. Take your Vitamins and supplements as instructed. Exercise. And Stay off the scale. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    I'm really desperate....

90g? I eat around 30g or 35g a day only I do take multivitamin everyday~ That is way too low. Dangerously low in my opinion. 60 grams would be an absolute minimum, but most people need at least 80 grams to 100 grams to lose weight efficiently.

    Is there any hope?

I am so, so sorry for your loss and for everything you have been through. I cannot even begin to imagine what it has been like. I am not in your shoes, but looking from the outside, I want to tell you that none of what happened is your fault. Do you have a good therapist? It seems like dealing with stress and grief would require a great deal of support. If you aren't seeing someone I encourage you to find someone who has experience working with bariatric patients. You can definitely get back on track. I can't imagine that it will be easy, but you still have your sleeve and it can help you going forward. It is great that you have a NUT. That would be the first place I suggest you start. Do you track your food? I use the MyFitnessPal app on my phone. It is invaluable for tracking my food, especially my Protein. I encourage you to start with the basics: Make sure you: Get at least 64 oz of water/fluid a day; Reach your protein target every day. (Mine is 100 grams a day.); Avoid starches (bread, rice, potatoes, etc.) and minimize sugar; Take your Vitamins and supplements as instructed; and Exercise. (Water exercise is great. It's my preferred exercise.) Keep us posted on how you are doing. I also encourage you to talk frankly with your new surgeon about your struggles. He has no way to know what challenges you have been facing unless you tell him. He may or may not have a different attitude, but at least you will have done your best.
