I don't know if these would fall into the category of meme or not. When you googled the quote did you look under the images tab?

@, I am just curious, but do you know what kind of training and credentials the Life Coach had? I am exploring what I want to be when I grow up and am intrigued about this as a possibility, at least on the side.

Did you keep your surgery a secret?
Inner Surfer Girl replied to readyforachange84's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My advice is to do what is right for you. I haven't kept it a secret but I haven't broadcast it to the world, either. I am frank and open with friends and family but I don't mention it publicly such as on social media. -
Surgery Monday. I'm about to back out!
Inner Surfer Girl replied to frankenstein's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me the worst part of the whole process is where you are now. That moment when you are getting ready to take a step into the unknown on faith. There is no guarantee that you won't have complications, but my experience was great. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, recovery, or progress so far. I am getting my life back and I am looking forward to a bright future. It is scary but for me it has been worth it. -
Autism/Mental illness/Bad Support and WLS
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Tierra T Tij's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Where are you in your journey? Have you talked to a therapist or counselor? WLS does take patience, persistence, perseverance, and most of all positivity. -
I don't think there are any magic fixes. I would recommend you make an appointment with your NUT to talk about your goals and go back to basics. Follow your program. Track your food. Make sure you get in all of your Protein and fluids every day. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. And exercise. You have the tools.

Doing too much
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Tweety40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree. You don't need to be stretching or engaging your abdominal muscles too strenuously and you certainly don't need to be falling on the ice. Walking around inside is ok, the rest will have to wait. Stay safe and warm. -
I don't live near one anymore thank goodness. My favorite used to be the red beans and rice.

Interesting observation
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Kspot42's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
On Top Chef this week, the Quick Fire Challenge consisted of each contestant choosing one ingredient from the pantry (for a total of 10) and they all had to make a dish using just those ingredients. They didn't have to use all the ingredients but they couldn't use anything else. One chef chose celery and everyone grumbled. He said, just watch, they are al grumbling but I bet every one will use it. As far as I could tell, they all used the celery. -

Tylenol liquid cold medicine helped me with the coughing. -

Have you tried some broth or soup? -
Help! I am 3 days post op and I'm struggling!
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Newlife4nita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1) Yes. I count any non-caffeinated liquid toward my daily Fluid total. 2) I only took pain meds a couple of days after I got home (mostly Tylenol). -
You can try it and see how it goes. Take care of yourself. I hope you are feeling better soon

Some of my many memories of playing Red Rover was at summer camp. On a particularly rainy/muddy day, we would have mandatory camp-wide games that included red rover, kick ball, etc. Anything to make sure we were particularly muddy. Then, we wouldn't be allowed to go back to our cabins to clean up. Instead, we would have a "grub dance" with the boys camp.

As a chubby kid, the worst was that stupid game they made us play in elementary school where you sit on your butt and then crab walk and kick this gigantic ball with your feet and with your hands supporting your body. There was probably a name for it but I don't remember.

Ahhh, the good old days. How did we survive childhood? We played with spring loaded toys, toys with small parts or rough metal edges, pointed toys, guns that fired plastic objects, BB guns and even "lawn darts". Since child-proofing everything all we have to worry about is whatever chemicals they use to make it with in China or bringing our kids to Chipotle. They have exploding hover boards now. My nephew has a hover board but it seems that the adults are the only ones who wind up getting hurt on it.

Here I Go....I need Help
Inner Surfer Girl replied to sjrn16's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome. I certainly remember that mix of fear and hopeful anticipation before surgery. This is a great site for information, inspiration, encouragement, support, and even a few laughs. Best of luck with your surgery and keep us posted on your progress. -
If this wasn't so pathetic it would be hilarious

@@lisacaron, I love it. "Screening out the tacos." A new euphemism I can appreciate! -
That sounds relaxing, just as long as you aren't reading a book about the "Donner Party". I won't reread The Thin Man today. I think that was the first time I had ever heard of the Donner party.

Since I still have tubs of protein powder and a case of premier protein I am not in any danger of starving if I lose power.

Help! I am 3 days post op and I'm struggling!
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Newlife4nita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the posters above. Walking, sipping, sugar free Popsicles, Jello, different temperatures of fluids, and a heating pad should all help. The sooner you can get in your fluids and Protein the sooner you will start to feel better. -
Who Started This "Bone Broth" Nonsense?
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Proud2BMe's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't cook so I buy pre made. If you read the labels there is a big difference in protein content. -
Couch to Firefighter Physical in 2 months. Help!
Inner Surfer Girl replied to NYLux12's topic in Fitness & Exercise
When did you have surgery? You shouldn't be lifting anything or engaging your abs until your incisions heal. After that moderate weight lifting should be ok. -
Back in my grandmother's day they were called girdles. Now, there are all kinds of variations.

Weight loss stalled
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Susan Lewis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here is a link to an article with high-Protein foods and their protein count. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/ultimate-list-40-high-protein-foods.html As an example: 1 large egg has 6 grams of protein. To get 100 grams of protein in one meal I would have to eat over a dozen eggs. Obviously, that does not work.
