    Herbalife and Weight Loss

    I agree. I wouldn't consider selling Herbalife a job.

    Frustrating Weight loss workup

I wonder where she gets her numbers and statistics. The 60% number I have seen in research studies. My BS meter is pinging all over the place from what you have told us.

Eating for the first few days

What kind of broth are you drinking? Read labels. Bone broth generally has more protein than regular broth. How much Isopure are you able to get down? I like the ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates during my clear phase. They helped me get my protein in. Keep sipping!

    Monster energy drinks!

Personally, that sounds awful. You could get the veggies and vitamins from other sources, even just a regular V8. All that caffeine would be a concern. What does your NUT say about them?

What planet is she on? I am really curious to know about her credentials and experience. She sounds like a loon.

    Herbalife and Weight Loss

I haven't tried it but doesn't it have a lot of carbs? I would definitely read the labels very carefully. Why not just go back to basics? Have you talked with your NUT lately about your goals and concerns? Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Cottage Cheese

    Cottage Cheese

I started a thread a while back called "What can I do with...cottage cheese?" that has a lot of great suggestions. I happen to love cottage cheese. Try it: Plain. With crushed black pepper. With crushed black pepper and fresh tomato. With fruit. With salad toppings (I like Kalamata olives). With some salsa or picante sauce. Etc., etc.

    2 Weeks Out!

Yes, it's good with pineapple but you will probably need to forgo the pineapple for a while (due to the sugar content, acid, and fiber). If you want fruit, try no sugar added applesauce or non sugar added diced peaches. I got some of the single serve containers of those as well as single serve green Beans for the soft foods stage.

    What's the 1st thing

I want to get a good LinkedIn headshot. I am so looking forward to a good soak in the tub!
  11. I don't have anything I regret not asking and if I had a question I have never had a problem calling and asking, so don't worry too much if you aren't sure what to ask. Just make a list of questions as they occur to you. If your bariatric program is like mine you will have individual appointments with your NUT along with group nutrition classes so you will receive lots of information, including a big binder full of program material. Write everything down and if something is unclear, ask questions until you understand, Some important things your NUT will most probably cover but you will need to know: How to deal with your specific challenges/where you need help. Do you need help with things like: portion size, food choices, reading labels, eating too fast, etc? What you will need to do to prepare for surgery pre-op. Whether or not you are required to lose weight or maintain weight pre-op and if so, how much and over what period of time. Whether or not you will have a pre-op liver-shrinking diet and if so what it includes. What Vitamins to take now and what to take post-op and when. What your daily Protein target is (this is the most-important thing to know post-op). Whether or not you need to buy/use specific vitamins or protein supplements or will they give you a range of recommendations. Best of luck with your appointment.

    What's the 1st thing

Say it three times and click your heels together three times and you will get there. Be sure and post a picture to the LBD thread.

    What's the 1st thing

This reminds me that I need to figure out what weight milestone I want to hit before I get a new passport. I had one years ago, never used it, and never renewed it. I just talked to a good friend who is planning a destination wedding in the fall. I MAY be able to travel comfortably by then so I want to be prepared.

    2 Weeks Out!

Congratulations! Time does fly when you are having fun! A few of the first things I had were cottage cheese, pintos and cheese (from Taco Bell), and Greek yogurt. I am nine months out and I still eat a lot of cottage cheese, yogurt, and refried beans!

    Help please everyone

I read it differently than @FrankiesGirl. I would treat the sugar free Jello, crystal light, etc. as unlimited and just drink no more than the allowed broth and shakes. Don't worry about the calories since they are already limited by what you are allowed, If in doubt, just give your NUT a call tomorrow.

    Help please everyone

It sounds like you just drink 5-6 shakes throughout the day and one cup of broth at anytime during the day. Use the water, jello, etc. in between the shakes if you get hungry, bored, etc.

    Lymphedema Treatment

I think my legs are already skinny until I catch a look at my reflection in the doors going into the rehab center! Someday soon those boots will zip all the way up. That will be a great day.

    Stuck for 3 months

Without more information it is impossible to know. I could guess that you aren't following your program. If you aren't tracking your food, it would be impossible to know whether or not you are getting in all of your Protein. Start by making sure you reach your protein and Fluid targets (at least 64 oz.) every day. Why not make an appointment with your NUT to talk about strategies for reaching your goals. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I roasted some more this evening. Delicious.

Congratulations on your weight loss! Sounds like you have done great to me.

    Nutrition Facts

I generally look at serving size, Protein, and sugar. I look for a high protein to sugar/carb ratio. I try to keep sugar low and under 10 grams (one digit). I also read the ingredient list. I look for a few natural ingredients (vs. a long list of additives) and avoid anything that lists high fructose corn syrup.

    Protein and your body!

    Sounds like a good idea.

    I hate vitamins

It sounds like you need to make an appointment with your NUT to talk about your program. Did you have any nutrition classes before or right after surgery?
  24. Adults learn best when we break things down into small chunks. 12-15 minute chunks of time over a long period can really add up.

    Vitamins after surgery

I think that was when I started taking vitamins. You will get so many vitamins in your IV at the hospital, you should be good to go for a while.
