    Too little calories

Yes, getting too few calories can slow down your weight loss. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Water intake and fluids

I am not either, that is why I buy pre made soups most of the time. Just read labels and make sure whatever you choose is appropriate for your phase. I liked the ProtiDiet creamy chicken and tomato basil soups that my surgeon allowed even on the clear phase. Some people get won ton or egg drop soup from a Chinese restaurant or similar and just strain out the won tons. You can also get canned or prepared soups at the grocery store or deli. Bone broth is high in Protein. Please try to get in more. Dehydration is no joke.

    Looking for input

Why not? As long as you follow your program, you will lose weight. I have lost over 200 pounds in my first year and have no intention of stopping until I get to goal.

    Force Feeding

It is a process. Learning new habits takes time. At least you noticed and are examining what works and what doesn't. That is part of learning to eat mindfully. I have had to really practice slowing down, taking smaller bites, and chewing thoroughly.

    7 days out!

Why only one Premier Protein? My protein target is 100 grams of protein and my surgeon said that there is no physical reason I couldn't drink three in a day starting the day after surgery. It took effort, but it was doable. Getting enough protein and Fluid is critical for both healing and weight loss. If you get in more protein and fluid you should have more energy and shouldn't experience much hunger. Also, keep in mind that dehydration can seem like hunger, can make you feel like you have less energy, and is dangerous.

    Looking for input

This is a big decision. I suggest you learn as much as you can about each option and then talk with your surgeon about which one would be best for you. I started out weighing much more than 300 pounds and was sleeved almost a year ago. I couldn't be happier with my decision.

How long does it take to fall in love?

I think smell is a very important part of the chemistry equation but I don't know what come first loving the scent or scenting the love.
  9. I truly believe that flying is an ordeal for "normal"-sized people. It is torture for those of us who are larger than the average person. I am looking forward to being able to fly in relative comfort.

    Eating crab? Shellfish?

By a month post-op I was on soft foods. As long as you stick with soft fish or seafood you should be fine if that is the stage you are on.

Does it get easier to get in your fluids?

Yes, it gets easier. Keep working on getting in all of your protein and fluids. You need them for healing. As you heal, the swelling will go down and it will get easier.

    What's a good protein drink?

I like Premier Protein, Syntrax nectar, unjury, and GNC Lean shake 25. I also like the ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates (great for the clear phase), Quest, and Eve Carnation Breakfast essentials (a nice budget option). Try samples before you commit to buying a large container of anything. Also, keep in mind that your tastes may change post-op.

    Just beginning this process

My advice: Take lots of notes, write everything down. Ask questions and if you don't understand something keep asking until you do. Most of all, be prepared to be patient and politely persistent. Best of luck!

    My fitness pal macros

I don't use the premium because the free version works fine for me. I am not sure what benefits the premium version offers. For the regular version I just started with my Protein goal and then put in a reasonable calorie goal based on that and adjusted the other macros proportionately. Just play with it. I just go by the protein number anyway.

    Strength Training

Since you swim laps, you might want to try some Water weights. I have a pair of Dumbbells I use in my pool at home. The wellness center where I swim and take aerobics classes has a variety. Some of the aqua classes specifically use them. A class is a great way to learn to use them. Whether you are in or out of the water it would be worth it to get someone to show you proper form. Either a physical trainer or class instructor would be a great resource.

    Affirmations

This sounds like a great process. I'll have to try it.

    Affirmations

I am a huge fan of using positive affirmations to improve my self talk. What are some of your favorite affirmations? One of mine is: I am a precious child of God.
  18. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience periodic stalls. Most of us experience a stall about three weeks after surgery. Just follow your program and focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids. It may also be a good idea to stay off the scale for a while. 19. Grilled salmon was one of the firsts but technically, it was Taco Bell pintos and cheese on the way home from my follow-up post-op appointment.

For the love of Scallops !

So far I haven't cooked my own, but would like to. Following for ideas and recipes. So far, the best scallops I have eaten post-op were at a Japanese hibachi restaurant.
  21. I use MyFitnessPal and really like it. It is very easy to use. It also links to my fitness tracker (Misfit Shine).

    4 days post-op questions

I was given protein supplements (ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates) in the hospital. My surgeon expected me to meet my protein target of 100 grams a day right away. Starting two days after surgery I was able to do so. I was allowed a couple of exceptions during the clear phase (namely Premier Protein and a couple of ProtiDiet Soups by my surgeon). According to my surgeon, getting enough protein is critical for healing in addition to the weight loss. Sipping protein and fluids, and walking were my primary focus in the first 10 days after surgery. Getting it all in is a full time job but worth it. I had a great recovery and am very happy with my progress so far.

    Inability to Eat

You have got to eat. Are you not eating because you can't or you don't want to? You may just have to suck it up and do it. What does your NUT suggest? Adequate nutrition, especially protein and fluids is critical for healing.

Post of diets around the world

It sounds like you are doing great. I am in the US and I did gasp when I read your NUT recommended you drink carbonation and alcohol, especially so early post-op. My insurance didn't cover my surgery, but my surgeon is excellent and has performed thousands of successful surgeries. You didn't mention Protein at all. My primary focus was and is getting AT LEAST 100 grams protein and 64 oz of (non carbonated, no caffeinated, and nonalcoholic) liquid a day. on my next appt we are discussing counting protein ☺ Great! According to my surgeon getting enough protein is critical: for healing and for weight loss. I have found that getting in my protein is a major success factor.
