    6 months out

It's due to a combination of the shock of the surgery/anesthesia and lack of Protein. hair loss is temporary. Just make sure you are taking your Vitamins and getting in all of your protein and it will grow back.

When will I stop regretting this surgery?

Please call your surgeon. That doesn't sound right. Were you prescribed pain meds for home?
  3. I agree with others. I don't eat back my exercise calories. I would recommend that you not do really intense exercise until you are able to consume at least 1000+ calories a day, though.

    Your thoughts please

I was sleeved April 20 a year ago and have been taking all the supplements as instructed and feel great. At my year follow up, I was told that if all my labs come back good, then I can drop back to just taking a multivitamin. I would be doing that anyway whether or not I had surgery so I don't see it as a burden. It is a good idea for most modern, healthy adults (and children) to take a multivitamin.

    Calories during soft food phase

My primary focus was and is getting in enough protein and fluids. That said, if you can get 800 calories, then go for it. Anything under 800 or even 1000 calories isn't sustainable and can actually inhibit your weight loss.

    No friends

There is another recent post with great advice about making new friends.

    Having some trouble...

And to your other point, in retrospect, knowing what I do now, I was definitely protein deficient pre-op. About all I ate were carbs and starches.

When will I stop regretting this surgery?

Stay hydrated. You will feel much better soon!

    Having some trouble...

Why has your protein requirement dropped. Mine is at least 100 grams for life, no matter what I weigh. My surgeon based it on my highest weight and explained that my body is not going to respond well unless I get that much because it will think I am starving.

When will I stop regretting this surgery?

I agree that you may find counseling helpful. You may be experiencing some strong emotions due to erratic hormones this early out. For many of us, not being able to use our default coping mechanism (food) can be difficult. The bottom line is that you cannot turn back the clock and change your current situation. You can learn to make the best of it. It will get better. Keeping hydrated and keeping up your Protein will help a great deal.

    Having some trouble...

Whether you are pre-op or post-op, we ALL need enough fluids and Protein If you are on pre-op, why are you having trouble getting enough fluids and protein? Is there some reason you cannot drink normally?

What kind of exercises can a 300 pounder do?

I started out at almost 600 pounds and currently in the 300s. I highly recommend swimming, water aerobics, water weights, etc. It is easy on your joints and I can do so much more in the water than I can still do on dry land.

    Crying...

Happy tears? Grieving for the woman who had surgery? A combination? Who knows. Obviously you have some very strong feelings. That is ok. You are allowed. Congratulations on the weight loss by the way.

    Confession time! ( exercise related)

Yes. Also check with your PCP. I get a discounted membership to our local hospital's wellness center because my PCP gave me a medical referral.

    Depressed & Can't meet H20/Protein goals

I love Sonic ice! Today for Breakfast, I mixed a packet of no-sugar added carnation breakfast essentials chocolate in a packet of prepared weight control oatmeal and added PB2. It tasted like chocolate Peanut Butter oatmeal drop Cookies.

    Confession time! ( exercise related)

I am a big fan of swimming, but unless you have a pool at home that probably wouldn't work for your requirements. I know some folks really like the couch to 5k training apps. You could also try some exercise or dance DVDs.

    Fluids log app?

I use my MyFitnessPal. But, frankly, I no longer log my fluids. I have several Water bottles. I have a 24 oz that I fill with crystal light, etc. and a 30 oz I fill with water. I try to refill both daily. If I refill just one, then I am over 64 oz. (For instance 2x24+30=78.) Anything above that, tea, a glass of water at a restaurant, a 20 oz water bottle at the gym is a bonus.
  18. If you can drink four tablespoons of milk you can drink four tablespoons of premier protein and then repeat. You need to focus on getting in your protein and fluids and not worry too much about labels. Early out you may just need to sip all day until you reach your targets.

Not ready to embrace another stall!

Not passing out is a good thing! I am so glad you are feeling better.

    What was your preop diet?

Mine was similar to Atkin's Level 1 (high protein/no starches, sugars or carbs). The day before surgery was clear liquids.

    Packing for Surgery...

Definitely take a pillow so you can hold it against your abdomen on your ride home.

    Pre-Op and Post-Op liquid diet

I like it. I would suggest you get samples of any Protein supplement to try before you invest in large tubs. You can get sample packs from unjury. You may also want to get a sampler assortment of Syntrax nectar to try. One of my favorite clear Proteins for my clear phase was ProtiDiet liquid Beverage Concentrates.

18 months out and I've hit a wall!

Have you talked to your NUT about your goals and challenges? I would suggest that you go back to basics and focus on your Protein and fluids. Are you exercising? Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    I am terrified.

Chances are pretty darn good that you will be just fine. My sleeve surgery was my first surgery ever so I had no idea what to expect. The surgery was the easiest part of the whole process for me. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, recovery, and progress so far. You are going to have a fabulous life! Best of luck tomorrow. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

    Pre-Op and Post-Op liquid diet

Carnation breakfast essentials are relatively inexpensive. GNC oftentimes has sales. You can also save money with a membership. Premier Protein periodically goes on sale at Sam's Club and Costco. I stock up when they have sales.
