Calling all at or near goal - how is your skin?
Boysaway posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And your age if you don't mind. I'm interested to know what percentage of bandsters have loose skin after weight loss. And how many have 'pinged back'. -
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned her - but I have had enough of Heather Mills McCartney's self-publicity. Doesn't she realise that she is her own worst enemy? Please just be quiet and you would gain a lot more respect.

I eat a small amount of enjoyable food, say chocolate, after a meal as a treat, staying well within my daily calories as this band is supposed to allow you, but I still feel horrendously guilty because the full feeling I have now is exactly the same as the feeling I used to get after a binge of epic proportions. How do I overcome this guilt and begin to realise that I am now eating like a normal person. On previous diets the hunger came with euphoric feelings of self-congratulation and was guiltless. How can I get to the place where I can accept fullness without guilt? Do you know what I mean?

I'm in the UK and I remember when I was about 10 years old The government did an experiment one year and didn't change the clocks in the autumn. School children were all issued with reflective sashes as it was so dark. The outcome was evaluated and despite the sashes more kids were killed on the roads that year so they reverted back to daylight saving the next year.

What does proper restriction feel like???
Boysaway replied to AllnewMe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
preciouspup, half a pound a week would be 26 pounds a year, but I agree it would be too slow for me. -
Hunger's Back! Will the fill work?
Boysaway replied to danaclark2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
thenume, I am in exactly the same position as you. More hunger, eating too many wrong foods, fill in a couple of weeks. We will get there, I have no doubt, don't worry. The restriction will come and the weight will go, just like all the others on this forum. -
How much longer will you live? (Banded)
Boysaway replied to Chicagoboy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
There are quite a few fat old ladies but almost no fat old men. Obese men don't usually make old bones unfortunately for them. -
Walking did not shift mine. I had such severe gas pains post op I was given Morphine twice. It doesn't last for long (a couple of days bad, then bearable with regular pain relief). It went completely by 10 days post op.

Right then, fish corn and tomato curry for dinner it is! -
I'm in UK so know nothing about Mexico, but while researching this topic I came across a forum that appears to be related to Dr Ortiz and his patients, who all rave about him. Lap Band Forum - Lap Band Surgery Discussion, Lap Band Fills, Plastic Surgery after Weight Loss

Bandster 1007 forget what you've done, just get back to your plan from now on. Your band will be fine I'm sure.

The Midband is fairly new in the UK (widely used in France) but early indications are that it is the safest and has least complications, so I was told. My surgeon has done 800 procedures himself but his stats are for the team I think. Wasa your advice is sound but I don't want to scare her because she needs to move on now.

Nil erosion, 0.002% slippage.

Poll - what causes you the biggest problem to get down?
Boysaway replied to Boysaway's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I Obviously Should Have Included Eggs In The Poll! -
I agree but all surgeons have different post op diet recommendations. Mine (I have a Midband) said 2 days clear fluids, 2 days full fluids, 3 days mushies, normal food from day 7 but to keep it soft (not mushy) for the first month. The Midband manufacturers recommend this and it is a bit different on food restrictions from other bands I believe.

70 pounds since September!!!! Surely not possible? Your ordeal sounds like a nightmare, I would try another doctor.

Best Liquid Meal Replacement/Protein Shakes
Boysaway replied to Evilah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Can anyone recommend a good protein drink available in the UK? -
How often do you have a protein shake for breakfast?
Boysaway replied to mandi78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I live in the UK and am not familiar with protein shakes. Can anyone recommend a UK brand version? -
Hi, I was banded on 10/10/07 and although I have not yet tried rice I understand that it is classed as a difficult food for bandsters. Can anyone explain this to me because I would have thought that even without chewing, grains of rice are small enough to go through the stoma?

What are you most looking forward to when you are slim? For me it will be wearing lacy bra and knickers that match for once. Oh, and boots that fit round my calves.

I think this has a lot to do with being on liquids only for so long. My surgeon only required liquids for one week, and now that I am on real food (although soft in texture) I am really satisfied with small quantities. Today I had a couple of ounces of chicken, cauliflower cheese, mashed swede, carrots and potato with gravy for lunch. Yummy and went down a treat. I have a Midband.
