  1. OH THE ITCHIES!!!! This is new to me. I am using Cetaphil on my legs and arms. If I don't use the lotion the ITCHIES wake me up in the night. The lotion does seem to work. I am guessing that this too will go away with time.

    Need AUGUST bypass buddies!

Holy crap! Hang in there, it gets better. I thought I was having a rough time. I picked up a nasty C. Diff infection while I was in the hospital. I just keep telling myself that I am doing a little better every day. Some days I actually believe it!
  3. I think I tried to make that deal last night around 2am. I am still trying to convince myself that one day the diarrhea will end and life will move on. On a positive note, I have no pain from surgery, just a little discomfort left. I just can't get in enough protein to make this work. To clarify, I can get it in, I just can't keep it in.
  4. I have the probiotics on hand, I have a while before I reach that point. I am still not able to eat much. Sad when a solid bowel movement is on my list of things to pray for.
  5. Going through it right now. I am on both Flagyl and Vanc. Getting the Flagyl down is the worst. I am almost always nauseous. I know I will get through this, I am just concerned about getting enough fluids to keep up.
  6. I met Jon tonight. He isn't my nurse, so I am good. I have Joan and Heather again. I like them both.
  7. I had a Maribeth, a Liliana, and a heather. I had one other but I was in pain when they brought me up, so I missed her name. Christina was my Tech today, she has been my favorite.
  8. No, no Joy so far. They seem pretty busy today. I guess most admissions happen Monday and Tuesday. Should start to have people leave tomorrow.
  9. Wow... Cycle through the pain?? My wife is with me, she would have jumped in that cycle and run his ass over! I haven't had any bad experiences like that. In fact, this has been the best nursing staff I have ever seen. The "bariatric clears" meals suck. Dr. Fitzer said I didn't have to eat it. I am not hungry at all anyway. I have been able to drink really well, which will be different for every person. I have made a bunch of laps around the unit. No gas yet, but they keep telling me to expect it soon. Dr. Fitzer said he would have discharged me today except my blood sugar is still not stabile. Most likely headed home tomorrow. Keep a pillow on your tummy! I have that occasional random cough. Use the pillow to kind of hold your tummy in, but it will still hurt. It's great having my wife here to help. It's the little things you will need help with.
  10. 12 hours post surgery and doing pretty well. Nurses are awesome here at Fair Oaks. I had a few hours right after surgery that were tough, but I survived and so will everyone else. Any questions while I am in the hospital?

Well, I am almost 12 hours post surgery. Took them a few hours to get on top of it. I had WIKED belly gas at first. Now I am sore, but not horribly sore. I have been sipping on diluted crystal light lemonade for hours. I have gotten about 16 ounces of that down. Best tasting lemonade ever!! If my wimpy butt can do this, anyone can. Just follow the direction!

    All In August 2014!

I am scheduled for August 11th. I am ready to go, I have had enough of this diabetes crap. Skylark, I am also in Virginia. I am near Warrenton, not too far from the valley. Good luck everyone, keep posting!

I know at least one guy on here! I am having surgery August 11th. Just got my insurance approval today.
  14. Jessica, Sounds like you are doing great! I do know about the Center of Excellence ratings. My insurance is much faster to approve procedures when they are done in a certified hospital with a certified surgeon. Its all been pretty easy up to this point. I am practicing eating without drinking and eating slower now. Its not painful, but it is much harder to do than I had imagined it to be. I think it will be much easier when my stomach can tell me to slow down. Take care of yourself! Try not to dream of the food to much. Drayton
