Have to get a second sleep study?

I did a home sleep study & then went to the clinic for another. The First was to diagnose and the second is to determine the pressure setting. One of the previous posters mentioned the same thing
  7. @@auntjanny, thanks for responding. Good point about heat & infection. I think I'm going to pass on it too.
  8. @@auntjanny & @@Myonlybattle I read a post where someone was going to purchase a heating pad. In your experience, did you feel you needed one or did you use one?

@@Vsglady Queens blog is addictive. Best wishes to you on your journey. As w/any surgery there will always be risk & some hard days but just focus on the end result & the reason you are doing it. It's all for the better good.

Thanks Lainie. I have 2 protein shakes (breakfast and lunch) I can eat jello as snack & dinner will be small protein (3 oz) & 1 cup veggies or 2 c salad. An extra protein drink if I need it. You are nearing the end & will be in pre-op diet before you know it!

Grammy I'm doing good too.saw cardiologist today, stress test next week & start preop.diet next Fri.surgery 10/17.Its getting very real. My surgeon had me watch a preop.video &take a test. That's when it was clear how serious this surgery is. No second thoughts, just realizing I should probably start some light exercise - heard it helps w/recovery
  12. Thank you, very good information. Glad things are getting better.

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

@spelmanite10. I know your head is spinning right about now. I believe crying is very normal for some. Good job on getting things in order. However, I am choosing to believe that everything will work out just fine. take a moment to just inhale slowly and exhale, breathe my friend breathe.
  14. Thanks for sharing your story. That was so scary but Glad to know he's ok and best wishes in his upcoming surgery. The good news is you will have yours too-just a little later than expected,
  15. @@Amyly2n so proud of you. Stress is usually a trigger that makes us overeat and what you dealt with is an off the chart stressor. Wishing you continued success and hope you find words of comfort for your daughter.

    Just scheduled my date :))

@@twirlyhead620 My surgery is 10/17. I have to attend a preop seminar next Monday which should last a few hours. I can so relate to visions of sitting in a booth (comfortably) crossing my legs and the list goes on. Can't wait. I may start crying when it happens. Happy tears.

    Pre-Op Shopping Spree

@@Inner Surfer Girl I have no suggestions but I wanted to thank you because you gave me a few ideas. By the way love love love the center bowl from sur la table. They are very pricey but I do like that store. I'll have to check out Homegoods first.

    Just scheduled my date :))

@@twirlyhead620 Congrats on getting your date. not sure if you are following the October sleevers thread or not, but that's a good place to go for support. I am following "newbie looking for Oct sleevers"(something like that) it should be in the sub forums. I am also reading the Sept sleever's thread. It gives me an idea of what to expect The first month. Obviously, we are all different but it does give you a general idea. Best of luck to you!

    August Sleevers Check In

@@Karen Scott & a few others who posted about issues w/constipation. There is another thread I'm following w/this discussion. Quite a few people mentioned drinking prune juice and one person said a nurse told her to drink warmed prune juice(sounds nasty but when you need help, you do what it takes) the one who drank the warmed prune juice said she went immediately. I also think someone on this thread mentioned prune juice as well Good luck.

    FMLA and HR

@mh97686- I know your question was not posed to me, but I told my boss "I'm having surgery and it's personal & I expect to be out two or three weeks." He wished me well & didn't ask any additional questions. He couldn't.

    Liquid Diet????

@@luiggib, I'm in Chicago too, my surgery is October 17. So I'll be doing a liquid diet in two weeks. try not to stress over it. I decided I am going to take it one day at a time and do the best I can. I had a colonoscopy as well. If You recall, you were only allowed to drink broths and Jell-O. So of course that made it hard. However, with the preop liquid diet you are allowed protein shakes which hopefully should help fill you up. Okay, maybe "fill you up" is not the right word, the better word is satisfy. :-) Good luck , you'll get through this. Try to stay positive and keep your eye on the prize.
  25. Please call and get clearer instructions. My surgery is 10/17 and my instruction sheet indicates I should drink 2 protein drinks (one for breakfast & lunch) jello or Popsicle as snack and dinner is 3oz protein & veggies NO potatoes, bread or rice. Also no caffeine. Some people are on liquids only.
