@@Elainecamsun, even though I was sleeved eight days after you, It appears we are at the same stage. This Saturday I will begin the soft food stage. I have been reading the blog from "the world according to eggface". She has lots of creative recipes. I also googled soft food recipes for bariatric surgery and found a few ideas. Hopefully that helps.

@@mjmboston welcome! We're the same age. I totally understand how you feel. I had my surgery October 17 and have not had one minute of regret, despite the fact that the first week after surgery was incredibly hard for me. Best of luck to you in this journey. Feel free to ask questions. There aren't a lot of us in this group, but everyone is very encouraging & helpful.

@@slareau, not everyone has the same food list on puree, So please check your list before eating anything anyone suggest. I puréed rotisserie chicken with a little chicken broth in a food processor . I'm also allowed mashed potatoes. I eat my chicken first (2-3 ounces) and if I have room 1-2 ounces of potatoes. I also have pureed corned beef hash, pureed chili. Cottage cheese. I made the pot roast recipe from eggface's blog, and put it through the food processor, it was good. I pureed the meat & carrots only . My husband ate the potatoes. I can also have puréed fish, but haven't tried that. Breakfast is usually oatmeal, eggs or cream of wheat. Hope that helps.

@@chellede, thanks for sharing what you're enjoying these days. you gave me a few ideas for the soft food stage, it would be nice if others shared too. I saw on the world according to eggface blog that she took a slice of deli turkey, rolled cheese & chilies in the middle & pan fried it. Sometimes changing it out w/lean ham . Great lunch idea when I go back to work next week.

@@LainieG sorry, I pressed post instead of responding. Anyway, it really frustrates me when doctors want their patients to lose so much weight before the surgery. If you were able to do so successfully, you wouldn't NEED the surgery. Just frustrating. To answer your question, I used to drink one diet Pepsi a day prior to surgery. I had to have a diet Pepsi and a large coffee every day . If any diet asked me to give up these items, I would take a pass on the diet. Ha! Surprisingly, I have not missed my diet Pepsi. Not once, yet..... But It is still early.

Grammy Yes, drinking dunkin donuts decaf, 1 scoop of vanilla protein added & blended through blender. Taste like french vanilla coffee.
  10. @@Tired_of_being_Tired, I was able to eat a whole egg at week two. I start on soft foods this coming Saturday, so I'll see how I do w/ the chicken. Truthfully, I sometimes feel like I can eat more than the 1/2 cup portion I'm allowed, But I make myself stop. I'm hoping when I start on the soft stage I'll feel more of a restriction.

@@mjmboston, I took my measurements the morning of surgery, that way when I hit the dreaded stall, I can hopefully see a measurable loss. I agree about the lip balm. A lot of people have gas pain after surgery, I was fortunate, I didn't have any, so I didn't use gas-x but it may not hurt to have them because it sounds like I was in the minority. Lastly, Be sure to have sugar free Popsicles at home, when it's hard to drink your fluids, the Popsicles can be a lifesaver. Good luck

@@Meonthelist, I highly doubt that you stretched out your sleeve. But to be safe, contact your nutritionist to find out how much soup you're allowed. I was allowed one cup if it's broth & half cup if creamy. you'll find through reading the posts that there are so many differences with each doctor.

@@elturner, yes. I do. I had a late lunch today, around 330. Went to lie down about 445. unfortunately the doorbell started ringing, after all it is Halloween, so I was unable to nap. @@rmspencer, last week you mentioned you had some egg drop soup. I've been craving it since, so I'm having some right now-yum. But how much soups are you allowed & which phase are you in? I haven't had soup since I entered phase 2, unless you call chili soup. But in looking at my paperwork, it says no more than 1/2 cup of food but is it the same for soup?

@@Tired_of_being_Tired you are killing me! Love your sense of humor. To answer your question, my sleeve is progressing well. I'm still on puree, but everything I've tried so far has agreed w/me ( eggs, beans, processed chicken, oatmeal, cream of wheats, chili- my fav from Wendy's-it looks ugly after putting it through the food processor, but taste good). Thank God! I have one more week of puree then on to softs for two weeks.hopefully that transition will be smooth.

@@BellaLuce4 welcome to our group! Even though this is your second stall, I think you've had an incredible weight-loss, great job! I was sleeved on 10/17 (almost two weeks) and prior to surgery lost about 15 pounds and I've lost 10 pounds since the surgery-not much but I am not complaining. I haven't seen this weight in several years. I'm sure we'll be sharing experiences along the way. Again, welcome!

14 Mos out and not at goal!

@@Ashleyp24 you look beautiful! I can't wait until I'm a size 10. However, I totally respect each person's personal goal. Obviously, since I've only been sleeved a few weeks, I don't have any suggestions other than to tell you that I did try the Garcinia pills (pre-sleeve) and didn't lose 1 ounce. Maybe it will work for you but I would strongly recommend checking with your surgeon. Good luck in reaching your goal and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
