    One year!

Love to hear successes stories! You look great & younger! Congrats.
  3. I'm 5 '1 and I was told that I would lose about 60% of my excess weight. My doctor told me it could be more but it depends on how much work I put into it. It's difficult to answer the question regarding having the surgery. This is a decision you have to make after researching it thoroughly and having discussions with your surgeon. I am very happy I chose the sleeve-no regrets. Best of luck

@@Vsglady, so sorry you're not feeling well. plum smart lite juice helped me & I've been regular since (about six weeks now). I read on another thread someone mentioned Prunes or prune juice or smooth move, Which you take at night. Hope you get relief soon.

    Surgery TOMORROW!

Good luck! I was in for two days & had no desire to get on my iPad, my cell w/charger was good enough. I wore something comfortable to the hospital ( I only kept it on for about 30 minutes) so I wore the same thing home. Don't overpack. I brought flip flops for the shower. Hospitals are full of germs. See ya on then other side. I am seven weeks postop and I have never had a one minute of regret.
  6. I signed in to specifically check on you. I read your post last night but didn't have time to respond. I am so, so sorry to hear you are going through this. I, too,was diagnosed with H. pylori prior to surgery and treated for three weeks with antibiotics, I had no symptoms. Hopefully, from this day forward things only get better. You will be in my prayers.

@@10 28 2014, thanksgiving was excellent. I was very very concerned about watching everyone else eat things I couldn't have. But I actually enjoyed my meal. I probably had 2 ounces of turkey, dressing (or stuffing as some people call it) and candied sweet potato. Prob a couple spoonfuls of each. I know, I know, carbs but hey it was turkey day. I don't think I ever paid attention to everyone's plate before this past Thanksgiving. I was amazed at how much food people had on their plate and I remember that was me last year. I loved that I didn't feel deprived.

@@laceykp, at three weeks, are you on puree? Everyone is different. I went on the world according to eggface blog to find puree suggestions & on BP there is a subforum for recipes at the various stages. Check that out too. When I was on puree, my diet was pretty boring & routine. I was allowed oatmeal & eggs. I Also ate refried beans from Taco Bell w/guacamole. I also ate pureed rotisserie chicken w/a little chicken broth & Cottage cheese. I did not have problems w/protein going down, so unfortunately, I can't really offer suggestions on that. Consider buying sample packs of protein drinks so you can try different flavors, instead of the large containers. Drink water, even if you can't drink the protein, you have to stay hydrated.

[quote name="laceykp" I am so sorry you are not getting the support you need, breaks my heart. This journey is hard enough w/support but without it, makes it super difficult. I have not lost a lot, I'm 5 weeks out & down 19lbs. But I would like to be part of your support team. Feel free to private message me if you have questions or just need to vent. I truly feel my October Sleevers are an extention of my support team as well as BP in general. Stay encouraged. We will get through this together.

@, I am part of the Facebook group as well. I don't believe that everyone in the Fb group is a member of this group. Sometimes questions or suggestions are mentioned in that group that I don't see Here, Since I'm so early in this weight loss journey, I'll take all the help I can get. Honestly, it does get a bit much going from Facebook to BP but at the end of the day it's worth it

@@es fatBgoned I, too, can eat most things & I am hungry pretty quickly after breakfast but I realize I may not be eating enough. Typically I have breakfast, lunch, Half a premier protein shake midafternoon, and dinner . I don't have a morning snack and I don't count calories. This could potentially be why I'm hungry. I have to be better about counting calories or at the very least the amount of protein I get.

I take celebrate vitamin which I'm told has enough b12. I take it 2x per day. No b12 shots. Strawberry pineapple flavor. However, it doesn't have enough calcium, so I do have to take that as well.

@@Jen - a work in progress, your weight loss is nothing short of amazing! Great job as far as I'm concerned. But I'm curious, why do you think your doctor will not release you to go back to work? What does your rapid weight-loss have to do with returning to work?

@@jmsgal I was just cleared Friday to workout. I was told to workout 30 minutes, 3x a week for the first two weeks & 4x the following two weeks. I was told twenty minutes on the treadmill or recumbent bike & 10 minutes weights. No exercises involving the stomach because I'm still healing (4 weeks post op). I'm about to go into the basement now to get on my recumbent bike, Ugggh! Not looking forward to it but I know it's a must.

@funsize. Not sure what you're allowed on preop but I had two shakes & dinner was 4oz protein, maybe , can't remember & a cup of veggies. If I was still hungry, I could have sugar-free Jell-O or another protein shake. That didn't work for me. I'll be honest, At lunchtime I would have a veggie salad. I ate healthy but needed little more to keep me going Keep yourself occupied to keep your mind off food. Hopefully it will be easier for you. Good luck!
  22. I had the sleeve and hiatal repair four weeks ago. For me, it was very painful. I did not have any gas pain, all surgery pain. My pain level was 9/10. The mistake I made was that I waited too long to ask for the pain meds. I stayed in the hospital for two days because the pain was so bad that my doctor didn't feel comfortable releasing me. I walked very little the first day. The second day I did better but it was extremely difficult. The lesson in the story is to take your pain meds timely. By the way, I took three weeks off, just returned Wednesday.

@@onmywaytoonederland, you are correct, a side effect is feeling cold and personally, I am loving that side effect. Not sure how long it will last but for now I love it. Maybe not so much in 5 years.... But I'll deal with it then. Prior to being sleeved, I had just started having night sweats but I have not had one since my surgery. Yippie!
