@@Petunia1, I'm somewhat like you. I have had minimal issues with food. I've never thrown up . I recall fish hurting the first time but I tried it a Few weeks later and all is good. However, unlike you, I do get hungry ( I'm in my 9th week). I have to be very diligent about watching my calories. This makes me nervous so early out. I hope by being mindful now, it will become second nature later on.

When did you try Steak again?

I am in my 9th week & had a little over 2 ounces of filet mignon at week 5, chewed really well and I had absolutely no problems with it. Now pork .... that's another story.

@@AgentShepard good for you, that was a great accomplishment. I work out at home and use free weights. My bariatric center provides us an exercise physiologist. He gave me some exercises to do with free weights. I was instructed to work out 20 minutes on the treadmill or recumbant bike and 10 minutes with free weights, for a total of 30 minutes 4x per week. I have my two month appointment on Monday, so I'll see if he changes my program.
  7. @@Katcloudshepherd I read your post about your husband. So sorry to hear about all of his ailments & struggles . Your commitment to him is clear in your writing. I will pray the same for him and that you BOTH will be able to put on your dancing shoes and dance. Congratulations again on your success.
  8. @@KeeWee, thanks for sharing your story. 100 pound weight loss that is phenomenal! and you are beautiful! I am so sorry you had to go through that with your friends. When I was younger(in college) I used to tell my Parents I had a lot of friends. My dad told me something that I remember till this day. he said as you age, you will find that you can count your TRUE friends on one hand. I honestly can say today, he was right. Best wishes to you and your new home state and thank God for your husband and your daughter.
  9. You look great! Congrats!
  10. [quote name="nprcowboy" I honestly can't think of the words to express how sorry I am to hear this. Not sure if anyone else suggested this, sorry if this is a repeat, but have you thought of going to another bariatric doctor or your pcp for a second opinion? What you have experienced seems so in humane! I am praying for you every day. Prayers going up & may blessings pour down.

@@stephh,i've been telling everyone that my stall is going on two weeks but I looked at my calendar & it's only been five days LOL ! I guess it just felt like an eternity. The good news is I got on the scale today and I lost 2 pounds yippee! As a side note, two weeks prior to my stall, I had only lost 1 pound each week. So it has been slow going but again, I am remaining optimistic.

@@shmeyers here's the stuffed pepper recipe: I only made two small red peppers & here's my disclaimer..... I don't really measure anything so this is not exact. I used approx. 1/2 pd lean ground beef, 2 red bell peppers(I prefer the taste over the green). 1/2c chicken broth, cheddar or any cheese you like, 1/2c refried beans, small can tomato sauce. Brown the ground beef w/seasoning of your choice, I used lawrys season salt. Meanwhile lightly boil salted water, add your red peppers. Be sure to cut the tops off first & remove seeds before boiling .DO NOT BOIL ANY LONGER THAN TWO OR THREE MINUTES. just enough to soften the peppers. Remove and shake off any excess water. Preheat oven to 375. In a mixing bowl add your ground beef, beans, cheese & half can of tomato sauce mix well-stuff in peppers. In a baking dish add the chicken broth& remaining tomato sauce, mix well. Place the stuffed peppers on top, cover and bake 30 minutes. Some people do not boil the peppers but I like mine soft & so does my sleeve. The good thing is you can add anything you like to your peppers. When it's done, you can pour the sauce over your pepper. So good! Let me know how it turns out when you make it.

@@stephh, I agree, I Don't want to up it, but I have to try something to break the stall. I try a variety of foods, my husband loves to cook. But for the most part. my menu is as follows: Breakfast: low sugar oatmeal w/1 tbs pb2 OR 1 cottage cheese pancake w/1 breakfast sausage. ( I almost all ways have one of these). Snack: pepperoni slices(5) w/ string cheese or just string cheese. MOST days I skip the morning snack. Lunch: Whatever meat we had for dinner (chicken, meatballs, turkey) w/small amount of veggies Mid afternoon snack: either protein shake, jerky , almonds or half a quest bar. Tonight I had talapia (half a filet) a few roasted veggies & a thin slice of Avacado. The last few nights I had stuffed peppers without rice, I substituted refried beans, sounds strange but it was really good w/ ground beef and cheese. I ate that for three days!

@@peek yes, let's definitely share notes. I'm 51, I wonder if age may have something to do with slow weight loss. Anyway, we'll figure it out. @@Vsglady, that literally made me laugh out loud. Glad the prune juice worked.

@@peek I am eating 900 calories but I'm told to eat between 900 to 1100. Like you, my sleeve handles most food. I have to be careful not to eat more-cause I can. Which is a little scary to me. I am trying to be more diligent about my workouts to see if that helps. I did read on another thread that if you don't lose weight, up your calories and protein and you should start losing again. Not sure how true that is. I have an appointment with my nutritionist next week, so that is something I will definitely discuss.

@@peek, wishing you luck w/the trainer. You & I are in the same boat (slow weight los). I've lost 22lbs sinced being sleeved, 7 weeks ago. 20. @@lejlavj my first few days were rough. During the middle of the night, around three am, I would start to feel a lot of pain. You should've been released with some pain meds, take it. 22. I am not trying to be negative Nelly since everyone's respons is so positive, however I did want to share with you that some of us don't recover that quickly. Nine days postop I was still very weak and unable to do much. Hopefully, I am dead wrong and your recovery will be quick! However, I am posting this just to suggest that you be prepared for a backup just in case. Happy holidays and wishing you a speedy recovery.
  23. Very happy for you my fellow Illinoisan. You have had a great weight loss in such a short time! Congrats!
  24. I had to give myself shots for two weeks, 3x per day. So I had Lots of bruises. I was very concerned if it would clear up and it did, took about a month.

    Eating salads again

Me too, 2 months. However, I have to admit , it was slightly uncomfortable. So, as much as I like salads, I may have to wait awhile before trying it again. Several of my BP friends who got sleeved around the same time was told to wait four months. So your nutrionist is your best resource.
