I've had my moments, but I'm SOOO happy I did this!
Kathy812 replied to Luana526's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@@Luana526, you're doing great. I agree w/you, it's the best decision I've made in a while. I haven't lost a lot but I'm certain I'll reach my goal. Right now I'm enjoying the nsv's ( being able to walk through a mall without back pain, energy, energy, energy. Dancing through an entire song without being winded, LOL etc. etc. etc.).I have no regrets! -

You've done a great job, your hard work is showing! -
The one thing that was good to me pureed was rotisserie chicken in a processor w/chicken broth to keep it moist. You've got a lot of great suggestions on this thread. I'm sure you'll do just fine. Love this site, such great support.

@@Dee951, no actually everything is going pretty smoothly. No problems at all. Unlike a lot of people, I do get hungry & I have no adverse affects from the food I've eaten. So I have to be very careful and measure what I eat whenever possible because it's easy for me to eat more than I should. -

@@downsizingdebs, does you doc know you take 100 g of protein a day? I was told not to exceed 80 because too much protein can have an effect on your kidneys. -

Hello all! Just found this group & very excited. Hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had an enjoyable day. I was sleeved 10/17 & had very few issues. My sleeve tolerates most things which is a good and bad thing. @@Dee951, my butt ( and I use that term loosely because I barely had a butt before the sleeve) was one of first places I lost weight. Hopefully it will be different for you. I currently get all of my protein from food. However, prior to the surgery, I tried quite a few different brands of protein shakes and the only one I liked was the premier vanilla flavor. A lot of people also enjoy the chocolate premier. I also liked vanilla Unjury. -

By bottom has disappeared! Upset about that. My belly, of course, is the slowest to go down. Hopefully, w/exercise & weight training it will all fall in place. -
ladies I need to share this because quite a few of you may be able to relate. My doctor told me if I did not have a menstrual cycle for a year, I can consider myself in menopause. My last cycle was June 2013. You can imagine how ecstatic I was in June of this year when I had been menstrual free. I officially declared myself in menopause. To my surprise guess what came yesterday ?!!! I am very upset. I'm not sure if this happens with menopause or if this was a result of my surgery (hormones out of whack) I definitely have questions.

@@Vsglady, that's funny. You are easy to please (soup & toilet paper). Likewise, vsglady, if you're ever in the Chicago area let me know. @@#9grammy, I like the vanilla flavor as well but premier vanilla is my fav. I've been getting most of my protein from food so honestly I haven't had a shake in several weeks.

@@thintrappedinafatbody42, I agree with the other posts. I think you are doing fantastic. I was sleeved on 10/17 and have lost 26 pounds (post op) A little less than most but I am still pleased. Keep up the good work. But wait, just a thought.... Do you think it was a genuine question, maybe it wasn't meant the way you took it? -

@rmspencer@Peekboo you both are cutie patootie's. I can see the difference in both of you. Peek, I know you're questioning whether or not it's noticeable, it is… HONESTLY. I have no idea what is wrong with your coworkers, could it be jealousy? Even if they don't notice it now, at the rate you're losing, they will eventually. -
"Vsglady" If we were in the same city I would give you my Unjury chicken. I tried it a few times and didn't like it. And now that I'm on regular foods, I will never use it.

Hi guys I'm here too. I haven't posted because I haven't had much to say.lol. My weight loss is moving slow as well but overall very happy. I weigh 202,so close to Onederland, can't wait. Down two sizes and I have not had any issues with food. Well, let me change that, pork still makes me a little nauseous but other than that, no problems. Lannie, what is pending to get your surgery date? @@Grandma2tweeties congrats on your recent surgery, glad you are not having any issues. Merry Christmas & happy holidays to all. I guess we should post status updates every now & then, just to keep this thread going. I really do want this group to continue.

@@TatorTot, just remember, kids at that age are seeing a lot of things/people for the first time, so they are inquisitive & haven't learned to filter their words. With that said, I am not condoning the behavior. My feelings would have been hurt too. I still remember something a young girl said to me in 2004(see, I still remember the year it was said). So it's understandable to feel hurt and sad. But use those words to motivate you to continue through the process of having your surgery. Wishing you healing and success in your weight-loss journey
