    Longest stall?

Funny, I literally signed on to research this exact question because I am beyond frustrated! I have been in a stall for about 2 months now ( I've lost 4 lbs in the last TWO months). I stalled at 6months post op. Oh well, like everyone says, just keep working the program. Hopefully I will start losing again. The strange thing is, I did go down a dress size, despite the fact I've had minimal loss.
  2. Please DON'T do it. Quest bars are pretty dense & are not considered soft foods. They are staples in my diet but I was not allowed to eat them until almost two months out. Be strong
  3. I'm going through this now. I am 7 months post op& have only lost 60 lbs. However, the last two months I've lost 3 pounds but I went down a dress size. Weird but I'll take it.

    Drinking coffee

I was allowed full caf a month after surgery. A good decaf to try is Timothy's, k cups. I think it's really good. Hopefully that will help until you're given the green light. Good luck!

I am in the exact same boat but slightly worse, I have only lost 45 lbs post op (15 preop). I am BEYOND frustrated. My fear before surgery was that my thyroid & age would slow my loss & sadly my fears are coming true. I work out 3 days a week & I eat well. I'm at a loss. I just told my husband to hide the scale cause I am addicted to weighing myself every day. I've lost 3 pds the last 2 months and I'm almost 7 months post. You are definitely not alone.
  7. @@Smye, I feel it's already clean & user friendly. The breakfast bake looks delish!
  8. @@Smye, thank you for this thread. So kind of you to provide us with these recipes. I will be trying the baribread real soon. I like how you posted the pic here & provided the link to the recipe. Btw, you are doing great with your weight loss.
  9. I cheated a few times, not condoning it but it's my truth. I still had my surgery, lost 15lb's in preop. Btw, my surgeon told me my liver was bigger than he wanted it to be but he was still able to perform the surgery. Best of luck!

    Quick question about hair loss

Like on of the previous posters mentioned, I was told it can last about six months but honestly I've seen a few people comment that it lasted longer & to the contrary , some shorter. Biotin from what I was told (and read) does NOT stop hair from shedding but can aide with regrowth.

@@kimmeesue, prior to having the surgery, I researched to make sure it was possible to lose weight w/a thyroid condition. The last 10 years I would work out 3-4 days a week& may lose 1 pound for an entire month. If I stopped working out ( mostly because I was frustrated) I would gain the pound back plus a few more! it was horrible! I was prepared for my weight loss to be slow and it has been, but I AM losing. As the saying goes....slow & steady wins the race. That's what I'm hoping for

@ hi & welcome. First off, I have ZERO regrets. Even though some people question their decision shortly after the surgery, I NEVER had a moments doubt. My 1st week was rough. Pain scale 8-9/10. I was supposed to stay one night in the hospital but stayed two. It was soooo hard for me to walk due to the pain & my surgeon would not release me until I walked successfully. Fast forward a week later, pain was minimal, I just lacked energy. Please know, there are so many people I know who had minimal pain. This is solely my experience. I didn't want to sugarcoat it. Stretching of the stomach is one I can't answer. I will say, I am six months out & I can eat more than I could 3 months ago. I have to be very mindful of what I eat-which was a surprise to me. I thought the first year would be mindless. Once I got past the pain I had minimal issues. I never threw up, never had the foamy mouth ((can't remember what they call it) but this basically can happen if you eat too much or something doesn't agree with you. It has been smooth sailing. Giving up pop/soda was not a problem. I can eat everything I ate preop with no side effects, I just eat a lot less which is awesome. Exercise is key, I thought I would get away w/losing weight without exercising. NOT. The stall is real (the fact that I'm over 50 & have a thyroid condition, makes this challenging) I lost maybe 3 lbs the last two months. I just started back working out more diligently, so hopefully the scale will move soon. Best of luck to you.

    October Sleevers

@@Melissayw816, wow we have similarities. I've lost 59lbs, Goal is 140 but honestly, I may have to tweak the weight as time goes on. My goal is a size 8-regardless of the number on the scale. I, too, have been struggling with a stall off & on for the last 1 1/2 month. I'm going to try to work out four days a week and definitely reduce my carbs. Hopefully, I'll see the scale start moving again
  15. @@nprcowboy, Omg! I've thought of you often & hoped that you were doing ok. Now, I see that you are. Congrats, you are looking good!

    Coffee

I was told to wait till 3 months to have reg but I was allowed decaf after my 1 week f/u. Amazing how Drs orders are so different. I now have about 16ounces a day & never had issues. It does not have a real effect on helping me to stay regular but I know some people says it helps them immediately.

@@beachgal2935, congratulations! So happy to hear you have minimal pain, that is such a blessing. 22. I started veggies & fruit at two months. I can't each much veggies. As someone else posted, after eating the protein, there's not a lot of room left but I do take a few bites. I have a small Apple w/pb2 a few days a week. Love my honey crisp apples .

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

@@aSleeveStory, I had to look at your stats twice to make sure you had the gastric sleeve and not the bypass, lol. You have had tremendous success congratulations. Unfortunately, I cannot offer any suggestions as to why you gain weight when you travel. Maybe ask your bariatric team for suggestions? I had taken a month off from working out, not proud of it but I paid for it. I lost 2 pounds this last month. I lost 49% of excess my weight( I was below the goal set by my exercise physiologist) for my six month follow up . The good news is I started working out again today and had a great workout. I will continue to do this at least three or four times a week. I've made a promise to myself. I can't come this far and slack off. Continued success to everyone!
