[font='courier new'][font='comic sans ms']My primary care doctor and I have been exploring weight loss options together since October 2013. In January 2014, I decided to explore the surgical options. I had my first visit with Dr. Namir Katkhouda on Feb 28th. My insurance required a 16 week course out of the Occupational Therapy Dept at USC. This is were I met Cecily Roberts. She guided me through all things related to healthy eating, lifestyle, behavior modification, emotional eating and exercise. Cecily was my mentor. I think we all know that weight-loss surgery is only a tool.....Cecily and the LifeStyle ReDesign program gave me additional tools to make the changes I needed to address, most especially, the diet-related issues related to weight loss.[/font][/font] [font='comic sans ms']Dr. Katkhouda asked me to lose 20 pounds pre-op, I lost 30. My surgery was on June 3rd. Yesterday was my one month anniversary. I have 20 pounds since my surgery for a total of 50 pounds. I can barely find the words to express how wonderful I feel. My energy level went through the roof almost the moment I woke up on the floor post-op. As I did my laps around the hospital floor (very slowly lol), the nurses cheered me on.[/font]

[font='comic sans ms']My dear Michael and the rest of my family have been magnificent! We walk and walk.....now we are up to a 5K and have registered for a 5K race in September at the Aquarium of the Pacific. I can't wait![/font]
