My name's Donna and I'm about to have Gastric Sleeve surgery on 7/22 and have been planning this since last November 2012 after years (a lifetime) of watching the scale go up and down. At 55 I have noticed that there has been very little "down" in the past few years so it's time to make significant changes. I live in SW PA, with my supportive husband & 2 daughters (22 & 18). I'm the only one in the family with weight issues, so it can be challenging to eat healthy foods, fortunately my oldest has been eating healthy since her 1st year in college. My surgery will be at Bryn Mawr Hospital with Dr. Ing. His team seems very competent and caring and so far they have been very helpful. I have told many friends, most of whom are very supportive. Every now and then I of course get the "I know someone who..." horror story. But by and large people are wishing me well and offering any help they can. Glad to find this forum.
