  1. Tasha, In my humble opinion, you are sick and prematurely dying. Obesity is a disease which causes other issues that do considerably shorten your life span. I have Diabetes Type II, neuropathy, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea. All due to obesity, and my BMI is 36. However you choose to fight your obesity, whether it is WLS or some other way, you are working to save your own life. Best wishes for good choices.
  2. Can you just imagine being stuffed on 2 Chick-Fil-A nuggets? So looking forward to that!

    Should I expect a stall?

I wish more employers were like you. You obviously understand that obesity is a serious health risk. I work for a State Agency and our State insurance does not cover any Weight loss treatment. However it will pay several thousand dollars a month for my insulin, Diabetic pills, cholesterol meds, blood pressure medications and neuropathy meds; not to mention doctor visits and a C-PAP machine. I can't begin to estimate how many others could say the same. Can we say a-s-i-n-i-n-e?

    November sleevers in Mexico?

Scheduled for November 17th. Getting occasional jitters. Even though not required as early, I plan to start liquid diet on November 1st. I am having a small hernia repair and gallbladder removed as well as my sleeve. My husband will be with me. Prayers for all of us to have safe travels, successful surgeries and rapid recoveries.
  6. Hey Packer, I know what you mean about stupid remarks. My family hit the roof when I told them I'm going to Mexico. My RN daughter even went to her doctor for support to help change my mind. I had to crack up laughing when he told her that many people go out of country for many different procedures as there are excellent well-trained doctors in other countries. Now here is the kicker. He is from India! Bwahahahahaha! My co-workers gave me a hard time also. However when they realized how much research I have done and that I am serious they first made it the office joke. They were taking up organ donations in case the strip-mall doc removed a kidney or some other organ that I might need! LOL Now they are beginning to be curious and ask questions to which I always give straight forward answers. I think it was just a matter of not being informed. My surgery is scheduled for November, but it has already been quite a journey!
  7. Hey Darby, not to worry about the censor thing. I used s n a t c h as in grab something and they censored me!!! LOL

    Any members from the ARK-LA-TEX?

From Shreveport getting sleeved in Mexico on November 17th.
  20. I have requested that mine be removed during the surgery along with repair of a small hernia. I have been having what I feel are some pains from gallbladder (not diagnosed) and are the same type symptoms my dad had with his. I surely don't want another surgery 5 or 6 months out and from all accounts I won't miss it.

    Pasteurized Egg Whites

You first! What do you use with it?
  22. Tiajuana with Dr. jaime Ponce de leon. INT Hospital. There are several good surgeons in Mexico. I used to work in credentialing at LSU in Shreveport. So I just did what I did there. First google the surgeon's name and go from there. You are looking for education including fellowships, any teaching or training that he has done. Who he has worked with and any associations he is connected with like bariatric centers of excellence. Look for malpractice suits but don't give them a lot of credit unless there is a suspension attached. Some people will sue over a hangnail and some hospitals will pay to avoid any possible negative publicity.
  23. I'm using Dr. jaime Ponce de leon. I've researched a lot, but if you know anything, please pass it along.
  24. November 17th. Dr. jaime Ponce de leon.
