I had the pleasure of talking with Dr. Garwood yesterday afternoon. He is retired and not doing fills anymore.. Dang!!!

find that fill dr? I think my port has flipped over.. I'm also Mexico band.. anyone in the area?? Dr. Shulka does them, office in the Woodlands and Huntsville tx.. but can't/won't help with filled port. any suggestions??? thanks.

I used her too. Also Dr. Garwood, he was the best. They don't do them anymore. I found Dr. Shulka,936-435-0259 (huntsville office number) he has office in Woodlands and Huntsville. Will do fills on Mexico folks. cost 125.00.. but my port has flipped and he wasn't too interested in helping me with that. I think I need the xray with fill to see to move it.. so frustrated..

My band is 5 yrs old!! I lost 140 pounds and have gained 80 of that back.. I'm so frustrated. I didn't get a fill for a year, too much emotional stuff and I use food for comfort. I lost my fill doctor *Dr. Garwood.. and now using Dr. Stephanie from Tyler.. I'm getting there, but have stretched out my pouch. Bad eating habits have creeped back in.. just extremely frustrated.. :-/

Is Dr. Garwood still doing fills? I've used him before, he's great. didn't know if he is still in the Lufkin area or moved back to College Station..

I used Dr. Garwood, but he's moved to Lufkin and I'm wondering if he will actually get set up there.. I've been waiting a month now.. I need a fill!! ugh.... I would like to have a back up plan.. thanks.....

Dr. Garwood update: New office in Lufkin Texas 936-639-2244.. He is suppose to be moving furniture in this week. Call the office, tell them you need lapband fill, they will take your information and call you back.. Nice lady on the phone. I need a fill bad!! hopefully he'll be up and running next week.. If you're new to him, tell him Kathy Caldwell sent you... He's a great doc, very kind and understanding, doesn't rush you, listens and works with you, like previously said, has a window for adjustments.... good luck!!

I get good restriction for about a month after a fill, then it's gone. I've been reading and got a little paranoid about my band not being able to fit anymore and still need to lose weight.. WELL... I have a 9.75cc band.. I thought I had a 4cc band.. gezzz I emailed my doc and he told me, then I re-read my letter and sure 'nough, there in black and white is my info.. I feel soooo much better. I do need another fill, I have really been struggling with food and eating way to much or just eating all day long.. I increased my exercising. So I need to get mind set over this and get back with the program. I'm ready for that sweet spot everyone is talking about.. I need some help here!!!! :smile2:

My story is just like everyone else's. The struggles of gaining and losing the same 100 pounds, that eventually turned into more. Every diet out there, I have tried. I've bought that T-shirt, worn it, out grew it, gave it away.. The story line is just like the same ol' song, just a different singer. I've watched a million commericals about weight loss, focusing on that magic cure. Of course, the logic side of me, knew --- There is no "magic" cure. I beat myself up for not having the will power to succeed. Of course, I would lose, just to gain it back plus some. Who didn't. Last year, my hubby and I purchased our first home. I was so excited, lots of planning to do, buying furniture, getting new things to make this house into a home. I was lacking something. I couldn't put my finger on it. So, as my backup, I ate. I always ate. It brought me comfort. Sometimes eating would give me ideas!! As crazy as that sounds.. THEN that one moment, emailing a friend at work, munching on chips, the idea came to me... Lap Band!! My friend hooked me up with a friend of her's.. I got busy researching, as I would have to pay out of pocket. Yep, I'm one of those that traveled to Mexico. The whole "enchilada" was worth it all. I know I cried a lot during the process of getting passport, filling out forms, saving money, and waiting. worrying worrying, I did some serious soul searching, knowing that if this didn't work.. where would my path take me. Soooo.. here I am, surgery done January 17 '08.. I've lost 90 pounds, feel great, energy, getting healthy. Some days I feel like that fat 365 pound person in the mirror, some days I could give "Twiggy" a run for her money.. I have some struggles with where I was and where I'm going, but I know that it was the best thing I could have done for myself. When my will power can't pull me through the day, my band is there to help me along.... I admit... having baggy panties, just makes me smile !!

I hear that he is moving his office in College Station and he hasn't been at the office in Willis for a month.. I called for appt to get a fill... got the answering service. I believe that his wife had surgery.. hope all is well!! YIKES.. surely he'll be back...

Hey, I didn't realize that my feet look so good in the shower!! WAHOOO!! I'm at 249 now.. and it's really odd to think of that number. the 200's, dang !! I'm teaching myself to look for clothes that doesn't have a bunch of "X"'s in the size.. har remember to eat slow, chew good, little bites.. this will pass for you.. get in plenty of fuilds.. You're doing good!!

I had my anniversay saturday, 17th.. I'm down 111 pounds.. Never would have thought this would happen. I shop for clothes and doesn't need a bunch of "X"s in front. har!! I'm in a 22/20 size and I think my shoes are getting to big, is that possible? I have my up days and down days.. but I wouldn't trade any of it!! Keep up the good work everyone..

ok.. It's almost that anniversary time!! I'm down 107# and somedays I still can't believe it. I got through christmas with family, lots of food, I did all of the cooking, which was fun as hell! It was great to be able to cook for someone that could eat!! WAHOOO!! I did good, enjoyed all the foods, took my time eating, didn't over do it, and didn't gain !! I think that is great, as I was really worried.. Got the reflux under control... Now to get back on track with exercising.. This band is great.... Happy New Year Everyone !!!

I'm trying to add my picture. this is Thanksgiving 2008. If is shows up, that's me standing in the middle... or at least 105 less of me!! wahoooo !!!

It's been 10 months now!! I made it to 100 pounds!! actually a little over now. I wanted this by my birthday, but had to settle for a little later in the month.. I've got the reflux some, got some OTC meds that seem to help. I also get the 'uncomfy' in my chest after I eat.. Not unbearable yet but ugh!! I'm worried about the holidays, food will be everywhere and I've been pb'ing and its frustrating.. I got back into exercising routine, which will help.. just wish this yuck feeling after eating would go away..
