I'm having band to sleeve on August 29th....this band has got to go...it's been broken for four years and has taken two years to get an approval from my insurance to fix it...I can't wait to feel healthy again!!!!

I'm in Missouri City, having my surgery August 29th...conversion from this broken band to sleeve. My surgeon is Dr. Ponce de Leon and I'll be at Memorial Herman @ Memorial City. I'm super excited and nervous...just ready to be healthy again

Don't give up!!! Appeal...appeal...appeal and never take no for an answer!!! I had the lap band done in 2006 and it broke and slipped in the last 4 years and I gained all the weight I had worked so hard to get off back...mind you some of it was my fault. I initially was denied 2 years ago for the conversion and as does with us all...life happens...and I had to end up getting a bone transplant in my ankle from an old injury...well needless to say, I started back on the journey to have this defective band removed and a conversion to the sleeve process about a month ago just knowing they were going to deny me...and I was prepared to fight tooth and nail for my life...well this time around I was approved and am scheduled for surgery August 29th. So stay focused on your journey to a more healthier you and we are all hear for you!!!

I just found out yesterday that I was approved for the removal of my broken band and conversion to the sleeve!!! I'm super excited and am scheduled for August 22!!! I'm just curious to know if any of you guys will have to stay in the hospital after? I was told that I would be there 1 day and it is not outpatient like my band. Is this normal? I forgot to ask my Dr....lol...I was just so excited because I was denied 2 years ago by the same insurance for the conversion.
