Anyone had their surgery in Overlook hospital? Were you allowed to have your spouse or someone stay in your room overnight?

Rheumatoid Arthritis Or Other Autoimmune Disease / Problems

Thanks kmill. I've read a couple of stories that ppl didn't have to take RA meds anymore. I really really hope that's my case too!! -
Rheumatoid Arthritis Or Other Autoimmune Disease / Problems
boosh10 replied to Odee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'll probably trigger the fibro for you temporarily, but in the long run it may totally help with less weight. I'm fully aware that I may go into a RA flare because I have to come off my RA meds, but if weighing less in the future will put less stress on my joints, then I'll take the flare. Good luck -
The NJ Bariatric center always has two of their doctors in the room doing the surgery. It kinda puts my mind as ease a little knowing there's more than one doc in there.(four eyes are better than two, I guess...lol ) Anyone else get two docs in the room?

Is it okay to ask your surgeon his mortality rate?
boosh10 replied to raquel_c's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go ahead and ask. I even asked my surgeons if they have any history of substance abuse. It is YOUR life, by no means should you feel like you're offending someone. -
Hello, Of all the Protein powders on the photo I posted, can you guys recommend what you think is the tastiest, or even if you think one is terrible, let me know! Im trying to avoid the trial and error! This is a list that my NUT gave me to get started on.

celebrex for for rheumatoid arthritis and the weight loss surgery
boosh10 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
has anybody taken celebrex right before and after the surgery? I have to come off of Enbrel for my RA but my Rheumatologist said celebrex should be ok, I'm guessing that he's not thinking of ulcers. I'm confirming that with the surgeon but just wanted to know if anybody else has taken it during the process. -

Thanks Selena, do you take it for RA? I just spoke to my PA at the Bariatric center...and she said that when we get closer to the date, they'll adjust it to not taking it for 3days before rather than the normal 7 days. And I can start taking 3 days after, but with a nexium or something. -
why do I torture myself and read articles?!?!?

What's the deal with alcohol? When can you have it post op? I am no way a big drinker, but i do like an occasional night out. Does it affect you differently? What can you NOT drink? Can you have a lot, or only a small amount? My date is scheduled for 1/21, I'm guessing celebrating st. Paddy's day is out of the question??! Lol
