  4. I was sleeved on 7/14 and feel pretty good. I will get odd back pain right around my diaphragm area. Anyone know if this is gas or spasms? Would like to take the right meds.

    Vitamins

I tried Bariatric Fusion right after surgery and could not do them at all. I am now taking Twin Labs Bariatric Support. They are a chewable about the size of a quarter and taste a bit like a red Flintstone.
  6. Protein shakes, tea, coffee with skim milk/sweetner, water, no calorie pop, no liquor
  7. If your doctor will allow it, gasx helps tons. I cannot believe they sent you home so quick I was in from a Monday to Thursday. Trust me it gets better, but day five really sucked. I was told I had to upgrade to the protein shakes and that was hard. Were you through synergy?
  8. I had my sleeve at ECMC too! You get your own room which is really nice, but the NP for my doctor admitted dietary does not get it. They do full liquids by the next day and tomato soup ! Overall, it was wonderful there! Just wished I felt better than I do. My surgery was Monday the 14th.

    Nausea after surgery

I had surgery on Monday and I feel like crap. I threw up a lot the first two days in the hospital. I came home on Thursday and felt good yesterday, but real bad today. I struggle with drinking the water believe it or not it hurts more than the yogurt and stuff. I think because it goes through my system so fast. I have bouts of nausea when I eat, but regularly more shakes and painfully spicy poop that makes me want to cry. Don't worry not everyone feels amazing like some of the posters here have felt. I have wanted to cry and thought I made a mistake a few times already.
  11. Well I was sleeved on the 14th and am Just starting to feel normal. I am really struggling with the protein shakes post OP. As well, I find that water going down is much more painful than the thicker yogurt. Not sure why. Failing right now at getting in the needed protein, water, and vitamins, but trying to increase it a bit each day.
  12. Okay tomorrow is my 40th birthday and my surgery, getting a bit nervous but need a change!
  13. Well here are my tips for the liquid diet or conclusions-days 1-3 were hard with headaches even though I drank lots of Water, 4-6 easy, 7-8 okay, 9 real hard. If you are doing Bariatric Fusion shakes, I found the vanilla too sweet unless I mixed it with cold black coffee or unsweetened ice tea and orange creme was the best, and Cappuccino okay. There are awesome shaker bottles I got at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. There are clear ones with a metal spiral orb in the bottom, but the best ones are the more colored version, they have a cup thing on the bottom, and one inside, that screws to the bottom, the cup fits a perfect serving of the bariatric fusion, and can hold Vitamins in the inner lid. I left a case of water in my car to always have it and if the water is too hot, I found a unsweetened ice tea from McDonald's worked well to mix it with in a pinch. Mixing it with hot stuff did not work as well. I was allowed a cup of non-starchy vegetables a day, a bag of baby carrots, and a salt shaker helped to have on hand for bad salt cravings. The sweetness the first few days really got to me and I craved the salt. The cravings get better as time goes by and things kind of lose their taste if you cheat anyways. Not to be graphic, but it cleared my system good the first few days and then occasionally after that I would end up with near "shart" emergencies. If you are allowed your own liquids, the Mio water enhancers and Special K Protein water packets were nice to have as the nutritionist said we should start to give up pop/soda because carbonation makes your sleeve grow if you drink it after surgery. I honestly started to find a ice water with a straw a treat in a drive thru when I had to pick someone else up something, it was just different than a bottle of water. Hope this helps!
  14. Has anyone see the show my 600lb life on TLC? It is gastric bypass and was filmed 7 or so years ago but it was good to see people succeeding and struggling.
  15. Yeah, I found the orange creme the most bearable, cappuccino a but sweet, and vanilla disgustingly sweet . Those are the only ones I have tried so far .
  16. I mixed my vanilla with ice tea / ice coffee and hot tea and it was a lot more bearable.
  17. I mixed mine with really cold ice tea/ice coffee or hot coffee and it really helped. The flavor was vanilla but super sweet!
  18. Thanks for being honest! I have struggled with the shakes especially Bariatric Fusions vanilla. I did discover it is a lot better mixed with unsweetened ice tea or regular black hot or iced coffee.
  19. Anyone else struggle at times with the preop liquid diet? I was so into this in the beginning when I was taking all the classes, but somehow the long wait between my last preop class and now has made me a little out of touch with the surgery and excitement. It still seems forever away and yet it is Monday. I struggled the first 3 days and cheated at times with the liquid diet, did awesome days 4-6, and today the headaches started again and I cheated and stole a couple fries from my son 's lunch. I fell like if I want this so bad why can't I stick to the liquid diet for 10 days? I am not hungry. It was the headache this morning and my son throwing my iPhone across the room and smashing the screen and popping it off that sent me over the edge to steal the fries. Any tips?
  20. Once you get through the first 3-4 days of the liquid diet, it gets so much easier and the headaches go away.
  21. My fitness pal is an app and a online program. Great for tracking, we learned about it and had to use it in our preclasses
  22. I am on the 14th too!
