The Soft Solids Effect
blondebomb replied to almosthome's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still just eat soft stuff..an I always eat protein first..then soft vegs. ..to this day I eat all protein first then the most veg I've ate so far is 2 or 3 literal green beans. No salad...potatoes on my plan are a no no bc of sugar carbs...it will slow down weight loss. I have tolerate a few bites of broiled salmon an flounder. .over all I still get in only 5 or 6 bites at one meal an I'm full comfortablely. A lot of this is head games...brain chemicals are powerful. -
Is it me, or is it them?
blondebomb replied to SandeeD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Exactly! Don't feel bad..keep head held high! Its not u it's them. I'm like u I don't make this a topic of conversation. In fact the last person who asked me something I just said I have adopted a very strict routine, an I'm done with the conversation an talk about something else. The majority of my friends no I have lupus an fibro so it kinda goes hand in hand..I told my parents my surgeon went in an cut off the bad part of tummy an fixed my hernia. .I really don't care about everyone else thinks. I do have a girlfriend who is over 300 pds if she says something I'm just going to tell her I refused to be that way the rest of my life. She plays a victims role an is miserable an her hubbys prbly close to 300 himself he likes his food to well..he has kept her big bc he doesn't want her changing either...they supposedly eat a low carb diet..uuhh it's not working..luv them to death but not me anymore. My highest weight was 259...never again! You say what u need to say n move on..that's my plan.. -

Wow..I would call an dbl chk on this...my protocol is 60 grms of protein daily. ...u will have slow weight loss with this kinda intake...be sure to chk... -

Solid foods 1 week post-op?
blondebomb replied to KarinaVSGinTX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Even at 4 wks my tummy was staying upset with a lil solid so I'm holding off still doing soft. The tummy has to heal. These drs that don't have a strict plan I'm questioning there thinking. Even my internists told me n my hubs it takes 6 months to heal properly. . -

blondebomb replied to jdillon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 wks out I get between 300 to 700..I hit 700 just barely a few days ago but I'm normally between 300 to 600. Just sip ur water so u don't get dehydrated. The protein will come. Hang in there..it gets tons better!! -
Congrats! How r you? It gets better..one day at a time. Walk Walk Walk!! I'm 5 wks out. .my first wk was tuff..I had hernia repair spasmed bad after sips..so mine was slow..lasted a wk..but tummy was fine. I lost 23 pds wk one...I'm now down 42..I had gained 8 in hospital but lost it also in 2 days after home..hang in there trust the protocol. .it works!

My protocol says absolutely no carbonation! It will expand stomach an stretch. I hate flat soda. .but I have stopped sodas 8 yrs ago..I was interested in the fizzy waters or sparkling waters..they are carbonated so I'm not even starting! I don't want to jeopardize my new tummy!

Protein goals
blondebomb replied to Unhappysleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hitting the required min of 60 for women will keep a person from losing muscle an hair...I still can't get in over 700 cal a day..my protein is on target I still drink protein shake for breakfast it's easy an taste like coffee so I'm good! If I get busy thru the day an don't really care about solid verses shake I would just assume drink a shake an eat at dinner an later snack. . -
anyone REGRET the sleeve?
blondebomb replied to elpasovet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
U mean over the 10 yrs u hadn't considered this at all? That was the first question my surgeon asked. I had contemplated this for 15 yrs an just figured my insurance wouldn't pay for this. Boy was I wrong! If u went to a seminar I would think in the back of ur mind u really were considering this. And maybe u just realy went with ur gut. My 15 yrs of thinking had to come to an end. I'd tried every diet imaginable to man, an just found out with many autoimmune diseases including hashis an insulin resistance I was just going up n weight. 2 specialist I see steared me this direction an I said this is the tool I needed..I was sick n tired of the yo yo dieting. I didn't require no preop supervised diet just 2 wks before 2 liquid an 1 meal then 48 hrs all liquid right before. If u really didn't want to do this u couldn't have just said no but I really think it was ur opportunity to change ur life. They asked me in preop you ready!?? I said most definitely! ! U will be happy with results...just follow protocol ur protocol from surgeon. Everyones I've noticed is different. ..hang in there I'm 40 down an on the mend..:)don't wonder or question the what ifs or question the could haves..it's done..wrk now an go forward leave the rest in past...ull drive ur self nuts. If ur like a lot of us obviously prior attempts we weren't so successful or we wouldn't have even put our toe in the Water to test it...with the seminar it was obviously for surgical wl help...ultimately. it wrks! An if we stick to it an don't cheat an don't do the things we are instructed to do we will b e successful for life. If we don't make the required behavior changes we will ed up right where we were before. ..now I eat to live not live to eat. Yes we slip up here n there..get back on the wagon...we must b mindful of everything. Ok wish u best an chk on here for support an help I luv this...helps a lot an I use myfitnesspal. .. -
anyone REGRET the sleeve?
blondebomb replied to elpasovet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was an emotional eater also. Didnt help hashis (thyroid autoimmune disease) insulin resistance. .thought I had a good marriage for 17 yrs...put up with it for almost 3 more he stepped out on me 3 times after the 3rd time I kicked his butt out. It was tearing me up emotionally an mentally so divorce came. I'm 15 yrs later took 2 yrs therapy got to bottom of my emotional eating suppressed trauma from teens developed PTSD an major depressive disorder major anxiety disorder. ..doing a lot better I'm finally at a good place now...this surgery is wat I needed for me. I want to learn more about the system u use for monitoring ur metabolism an calories. .I'm 40 pds down an loving it! Feeling free at last!! -
JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
blondebomb replied to SMED0308's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Iv had baby organic seedless cucumber skin OFF.. no skin of any sort on veggies for a while to much work for the tummy. I cut mine up in 4s so there tiny bites. I can't get but maybe 4 or 5 pieces down. I chew slow an put fork down between every bite. No salad for me. Not with trying to get protein always first. Gotta make it a habit for life I don't want hair falling out..haha..stricken to my instructions. No hair loss yet 5 wks out...taking my biotin vit. ..I'm goin to wait awhile to try lettuce. . -
anyone REGRET the sleeve?
blondebomb replied to elpasovet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 50 yrs old...had weight prblm all my life. By my 30s I started with insulin problems, hypothyroidism. No matter what I ate either 300 cal or 1700 cal weight didn't budge. I did active aerobics till mid 30s...health kept goin down hill. Fibromyalgia, autoimmune diseases etc...Iv thought about surgery for 20 yrs..the only regret is I didn't do this sooner. Its a major desicion. When 2 specialist sent me with neither one knowing about the other..I knew it was my time. Yea my surgeon told me if you can get thru first month youv got it whipped. .easy? Hell no! Its a major commitment an lifestyle change. I needed this tool to force me to make the needed changes bc let's face it were here bc of being fat we were unsuccessful on our own. It takes brutal honesty to oneself to face it when we accept we need help. I was in 2 yrs therapy getting to bottom of issues I did that. There is a lonnnng process to go thru to even be approved as a good candidate for this major surgery but I'm soo happy I did..I'm sorry some aren't. Its challenging changes an mental an emotional changes have to be done before this happens. For those who feel it was a mistake I'm sorry u feel that way but give it time. Its a new learned behavior. We have to baby our tummy. I lost 40 pds in 5 wks...it works! Ur body stalls it has to catch up it's also hormonal changes. Cover all basis...there is more success storys then not. I'm feeling like I have a new life! An I'm so excited I'm finally feeling free...best wishes:) -
My instructions was no potatoes, paste, rice till I hit my goal weight an then after is questionable. Its carbs an raises insulin an can cause weight gain if u eat now during phases it will slow weight loss...

blondebomb replied to Zane's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry u had such a scary start but it team was ontop of it. Thank goodness. Glad things are wrking better now. The 64 oz of water dAily includes all fluid intake, shakes, water, noncaffenated tea, coffee. ..anything u drink...in addition as close to 60 grms of protein daily. I had mine on July 8...I am just now hitting stage 4 trying to do solids...not doin as well as I would like so I'm pretty much decided to do a few shakes a day still. I'm still having some nauseous days the past wk...I'm not rushing things I think tummy is not ready for hard things just yet. So going to stick with soft things for a bit More. Glad it feeling better... -
