Disappointed insurance denied
blondebomb replied to Mz. NuNu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
will your surgeons office managers who fight for patients needing approval help?? between them doing their job working for you an you calling yourself to appeal hopfully it will happen!! have you had a sleep study for apnea? (you prbly have) just throwing it out there...hang in there!! my surgery was 5 months ago an I am still getting bills from drs I never heard of from that day..an a dietician who came in the room for 5 minutes an asked if I had questions an I said NO I have a dietician if I need one...thx..Im still calling my ins and having to rerun these bills thru for payment approval. been a pain..I told them listen I had my approval letter, so everything preop and postop NEEDS to be COVERED it all goes together! already had 2 bills go to collections an I hit the roof! told them if they sent another one to collections they would NOT be getting any more money out of me an to get them bills OFF my credit...I was upset..a lil! -
Do you notice how much others eat?
blondebomb replied to *Lexie*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been trying to find what I even wrote! lol...I cant remember what I said...I hope no one thought I was being judgmental or maybe I am reading this wrong..IDK..haha...I feel like you..I am really trying my best to NOT judge I have friends who have emotional baggage over a lifetime an many like me ate to self medicate eat comfort food. that was MY inner force at times..then I slowed down an turned around then I hardly ate for yrs still no drop in weight, thyroid disease, became insulin resistance..etc then all these dx's over the past 4 yrs an then 1 dead thyroid shrivling up 2 my drs referred me to WLS I had no idea I would even qualify sure enuff it all fell in place. I want to help others but they have to be READY and WANT to make these drastic healthy lifestyle changes for it work. its a constant battle still with me when I get obsessive an compulsive and to really tell myself NO! make differant choices thru out the day. I am 5 months out over 80 down but I would NOT change a thing!! I just keep to myself try to not think about what others do around me with food. (easier said then done).. I do have a good BFF that we have talked an she is making some changes as far as getting off all white refined items and off artificial sweetners..she says she wants to drop some so it shouldnt take much for her to drop 20 30...I said go for it! we can do this! us 3 girls go on vacation every yr an have a great time! so we are working on oursleves for next yrs trip! lol... -
Do you notice how much others eat?
blondebomb replied to *Lexie*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

Do you notice how much others eat?
blondebomb replied to *Lexie*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
YES! my thinking is soo opposite now. we went out with some friends a few wks back...we went to Rubys..they (hubs and the other 2) got the salad bar on top of meal an when the hubs came back before the other 2 I told him Im going to play on my phone while y'all are eating...I said I am NOT going to just sit here an watch y'all eat all these food with this look on my face which I am DESPERTLY trying to avoid putting on about trying not to care of what others are eating...bc when I do get my main course which I order small already I immediatly ask for a to go box . I only eat about 4 or 5 small bites an then Im done! I get these comments all the time when with others.."IS THAT ALL YOUR EATING? ARE YOU FULL ALREADY? yep!! I just say I dont eat much anymore. my life an social life doesnt center around food anymore. I do get some looks like Im crazy but ya no I dont care! its me an my new lifestyle...they have noticed I have lost another human being in weight..lol...an I love it! I have a friend who is reacing 300 or more for all I no an she asked me what I have done told her everything I stopped eating, watch everything I eat an her responce was I dont see me losing this weight ever...been over weight all her life...in her 60s now...I said WHY? shes miserable. she has looked into the bariatric way but cant pass the mental/psychologic assesments...so I dont no what else to tell her. but now when I see what others eat when we do an it makes me sick to look at so I try an keep my mind on other things...I try not to be judgmental an let others be themselves an not care..I just control me! -
Veteran gastric sleeve, out 2+ years and having difficulty not eating all the time
blondebomb replied to Longhaulingit's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@longhaullingit do you have the myfitnesspal downloaded on your phone? I keep my carbs under 40 daily. thats the only way I can see actually how many I have had per day. it records everything you take in if you use it correctly an that is a gauge for everything...calories, fats, carb counter etc...the more simple carbs you eat the more your brain will crave an keep blood sugar going up an down. you may already have this an use it I dont no...but eating all them carbs everyday it will definitly stop the weight loss. I dont even keep it in the house. Im not only on a strict diet but I put the hubs on it as well. he has to watch his glucose so we both read labels an watch everything. Im not saying Im perfect Iv cheated by taking a bite here or there over the past 2 months but its treat like...not a daily thing in our diet. might want to think about cutting down on the granola, the only fruit I have snacked on is grapes, I buy the small single lunch size servings of the fruit cups that have the splenda an no sugar in them...I take one drain out the juice and add it to some ff cottage cheese sprinkle some stevia on it, an I do get the carb smart from krogers their yogart cups..no fruit in them..might want to increas the snack to a Protein...? I use philly cheese an use a sliced turkey add the philly in it roll it up an its quick an easy...just some tips on what is easy...hope this helps an can maybe get ya back on track.. keep us posted! -

Anyone had a sleeve who takes Abilify?
blondebomb replied to sukik's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I did take abilify a while back..I got off of it . it messed with my blood sugar an I gained 40 pds with it. I do take wellbuterin it replaced the abilify. I dont know about anyone else who has experianced it but it made my taste buds change..food tasted really good I mean for me the abilify amplified the taste of food..for the better . it might just be something you will have to monitor yourself. everyones differant. even after this surgery my cravings for certain foods changed and the taste of certain foods changed... -

relax!! dont get yourself worked up..mine was simple, just getting a feel for your behaviour , if you have had any eating disorders in the past, currently...how your feeling, what your thinking. why you want the surgery etc...if you already see a therapist besides them you will also have to be cleared thru the primary therapist...since they know your history and current state of everything. I had to clear thru her and my regular therapist. in fact I took the bull by the horns and made another app to go see my regular one to tell her what was going on an that I needed her release to get this surgery done. of course she helped alot! best wishes.. its part of the process... she'll explain the emotional head hunger that you'll have to endure and work thru.. -

blondebomb replied to HaddocksEyes's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
girl I am 5 months out..I totally agree with her post..I am also one that had tried everything an every way on this planet to lose weight an it just wouldnt come off..it was the best decision for me as well. yes getting thru the first month is the hardest. those were my surgeons words to me...he was right. but ohhhhh soo worth it!! I was committed to do this an ready. yea the week before I started getting anxous, nervous and my mind was going all over the place. its normal! hang in there. stick to your protocol an hang tough! definitly life changeing..I am down 88 an loving it! my mind is catching up...its lagging behind some but Im adjusting. mentally it takes alot of getting used to. emotionally the first month a lil tough. but I got thru it. have my dr follow ups an their support. hang in there...I dont regret anything I did. solidly stand by my desicion... -
100 lbs down and the unfortunate random things I've learned plus a few NSVs!
blondebomb replied to KeeWee's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
SERIOUSLY???!! there is only 3 ppl that knows the truth of my weight journey an I am not about to start. I am soo sorry you had to deal with this neg garbage. it is jealously and many ppl cant handle change. thats why many just stay the same an when others around them do it rocks the boat. Im sitting here shaking my head side to side for ya. I do have one friend that has asked me how I have been losing..I am down 88 so not to far behind on the big 100!! but I told her (shes over 300) I told her I had to get off that path bc I was reaching close to the 280s and I had to STOP it dead in its tracks! I refused to stay on that toxic road. I told her I stopped all junk, no processed sugars, no HFCS, no modern grains, no wheat, got off all artifical sweetners and on a very strict diet an total portion control...which is no lie. I made these dietary changes over a yr ago. but I thought just maybe down the road I MIGHT clue her in on a few other details. I have over 12 dx on health issues an fibro is one...the first month out I felt decent..man after a month my body went into a rebellious flare!! alothough I also have lupus and polymyalgia so yes there is still alot of chronic pain...but Im managing. I am happy to hear your physically feeling much better an off meds! I am however off my cpap machine. prediabetes disappeared..bp is normal! my hubs cant keep his hands off me!! drives me nuts..u keep shinning girl and dont get brought down! keep chin up and head held high!! keep strutting gf!!!! -

I have been feeling out of place or odd going on the opposite side now of the stores. it is very emotional. congrats girl an hang in there! your amazing.. -
I am 5 months out...my first month I swear I didnt no what hit me!! the first 2 weeks I had esophagas spasms from my hernia being fixed..It was awful. my internists called me in something for it an by the time I got it the spasms calmed down. I drank it all..protein an fluids. I used chike products the first 2 months I would rather drink then eat. it was a lil rough the first few months getting all required fluids...but my surgeon told me my proteins that I drank for meals counted toward my liquids so that was a relief. but I did sip soups also I added some protein whey to everything I drank...by the 3rd month I was able to tolerate a few bites here and there. after 3 or 4 bites I was done. protein is always first. I have been picking up the whey shots at cvs and walmart..they are like 28 or so grms protein for small an 48 or something for the large..now that I am 5 months out I still find myself not hungry much so I either nibble on the pure protein bars or do a shot..I am down 88 now...do the best ya can but push to get in those min 60 proteins daily...it will affect the weight loss..I have found when I dont make but 40 or so proteins a day my weight slows a bit...I still have about 50 more to go but I'll get there...

Help me please! I continue to gain weight!
blondebomb replied to Lisa's Hope's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
try adding in more protein..go talk to a therapist. you can do this. first step always the hardest. after the ice is broken it will hopfully get better. clean out cabinets. food is being used for comfort which you already no that...get you some sf treats. I have been drinking some of the lil high protein shots..there not bad in taste. throw out the processed sugars..breads..etc. you must be drinking some really high cal coffees...I drink coffee every morning an during the days hot tea or ice tea but I have stevia in the house an I use the dairy/soy free coconut creamer french vanilla flavor..sugar free syrups..if I need the extra creamy stuff I get the real deal in the tall can..its got less then 1 sugar..I can afford to use it. when your in distress like this I totally get it. by making the needed changes again you can get your life back on track and maybe think of doing this for the both of you...he would want the best for you. maybe get out take a walk in the fresh air if weather permitting. call up a friend. get support. you need it. I no for me I no this isnt a spiritual forum..but I am one who fully relies on my creator..prayer ...some do some dont.,,he is always there for those who believe. I hope you can get some comfort in an alternative way instead of using the carbs..which is what your brain is craving..you know as well as I do the body craves the brain release of the feel good drugs...its hooked again...turn it around! -
If you weren't obese "all" of your life, what is it that caused you to become obese ?
blondebomb replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have been in psychotherapy for almost 10 yrs for PTSD...I went thru it real bad several yrs ago but it started on my 16 yrs ago..talk therapy and meds has helped me termendously. I got to the bottom of alot of issues (my weight was one symptom) and after getting professional perspective an thoughts it improved alot. and I also do alot of natural techniques to get thru them. panic attacks and anxiety was out the roof for the longest time. but the past 2 yrs its totlly turned around. still on a med but will be on it for as long as I need it. coping skills help alot... -

blondebomb replied to nolongerhere's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
NOPE! I had only told 2 ppl..my BFF's and of course my hubs...I didnt want neg comments or the whys..etc...its my business and my privacy..I just say I have a very strict diet and radical lifestyle change..I got off all high fructose corn syrup, grains and processed sugar. I am 5 months postop an down 80..yes my family have all of a sudden noticed the weight loss the past 2 wks..its not up for conversation with me. I dont make a big deal to others. but this is how I have dealt with it. I might rethink about it yrs down the road but for now I keep it to myself... -

blondebomb replied to rylo1027's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
the emotions are valid!! I went thru them also...for 2 wks preop I was all over the place. the 48 hrs before I went on my protein shake ..3 daily...1 light meal.high protein..then my last 24 hrs was all liquid...the least solids you have in there the better off you will be . it helps when the liver has less to work with an shrinks some for the surgeon an its easier on both of you. you will feel rough waking up...dont be surprised if you cant eat much or drink much first wk...I sipped all day..it was normal for me to just get in 2 small bites at a time the first few wks. but at least get your fluid down as much as possible. you will have to work up to the required amounts..it doesnt happen right off the bat..at least it didnt for me. do the best you can. dont beat yourself up. take day at a time. walk walk walk!!! after about 4 hrs postop I walked a lil..not much but every hr the first evening I walked a lil...slept all night..woke up at 5 an the hubs helped me walk the halls..at least tried to do 1 lap..worked my way up...its def a learning journey..Im 5 months postop down 80...its amazing...best thing I did for me...I didnt tell no one except 2 other BFF's...my hubs was only family ..I didnt want to hear anything neg from ppl..I am finding myself again an luvin me again... best wishes..You can do this! glad your here..you'll learn alot..dont hesitate to ask questions.. keep us posted!!
