    Cream of Wheat nightmare! Help!

I was 3 months out when I tried it..I no I was told if that happens where I feel food is stuck to sit in bath for about 15 to 20 min..heating pad is good an time. Im sorry that happened. it'll get better! hang in there..
  2. I ended buying a can of unflavored isolate whey protein (vegan type) I would put a teasp in my coffee, in my hot teas, in my small soups, in sf pudding cup..it took me a few wks to get my required in. I couldnt sip on water much bc of the esophagus spasms I had for 2 wks...there are also protein shots you can get. cvs carries them...you'll get there. by my 6 wks I was gagging on shakes as well..I did also drink the pure protein shakes I did well with those but I did try the adkins an it was gross! it made my tummy cramp so I thru them out! I am 5 months out an I still eat on the pure protein bars an a few other brands when Its just me an dont feel like cooking.
  3. I have been thru about 8 or so surgerys..this last one the sleeve ..it took me 2 months to get some stamina and strength back. tummy surgery is MAJOR! my internists said it would take a good 6 months for insides to heal. but I also had hernia repair. but you can easily just say if you want to "oh just some female thingy"..but I agree with others..ITS NOT ANY OF THEIR BUSINESS! just surgery is surgery...bring in the protein shakes or small meals..let them no when they offer sweets etc NO Thank you! I also had to have my thyroid med adjusted an since I did its helped alot with the weight coming off as well. there is also when they do start noticing hey just say its a new lifestyle! got off all the junk etc..I call it the ketogenic diet myself. its basically what my protocol is..if some one ask what you eat tell them to google! I dont offer any extra info to no one anymore. its your privacy an quite frankly no ones business. add some exercise in an wa la!!! the weight is coming off...my own family dont no..an I dont plan on telling them. I do say thyroid med, ketogenic diet mixed in with the wheat belly diet. off all artificail sweetners! works everytime. there is only 3 ppl I told..my hubs an 2 bffs...I am 5 months out an pushing mid 90s down..you dont need that added stress so dont over think it! keep us posted..
  4. Congrats!! Did insurance pay for your tummy work? I am going to look into this also. My next app with surgeon will be in spring. Going to talk to him hoping for a speedy recovery!

  7. yw! I remember my first month like it was yesterday. My surgeon told me when I last seen him in his office before surgery If I can just get thru the first month you'll do great. Boy was he right! but it is soo worth it. I would do it again in a heart beat! I got bitchy , moody, had some crying spells, but they evened out. as you loose your hormones change. I was seeing drastic changes in my bodys shape that really just motivated me that much more bc I finally seen this was really working for me! I automatically had my doubts it would work bc everything else I had ever did didnt work. but I luv my results an thank goodness I have a very supportive hubs! that support means alot! happy for you an hang in there its going to work an your doing great! do what you can we are limited bc of the space in there an it will be swelled for months. keep us posted..

    Is everyone crazy? Lol

what your going thru is normal! did you both go thru the psychological classes preop? in mine they talked ALOT on this issue. Its your head hunger your having the withdraws. the body has been totally reliant on you acting on this dopamine for the body to feel good! an now that your not giving the brain what its craving its causing these emotional responses. I went thru this for a month. I cried here an there I got bitchy etc...it will pass!! hang in there. I was saying an thinking the exact thing the first few wks!! its also affecting your seratonin levels which these dips cause depression. you hit the nail on the head! its also realizing what you have actually put your body thru. the realization has set in. the body has to adjust. how are you doing on your protein intake? water? do the best you can. I made the comment many of times my first few wks.."WHAT THE HELL HAVE I DONE?"
  9. I went thru a divorce 16 yrs ago...after being married for 20 yrs. having his 2 beautiful children I was never physically in appearance good enuff from then on..even back then when I got married at 16 I weighed 106 pds. by my mid 20s an after 2 kids I went from a 6 to a 14/16..he always made digs of comments he wished he could count my ribs again...he was very insecure but I sure dont call him a man (per say)...I have been remarried to my best friend for 16 yrs..he has been there for me thru thick an thin an I mean from 180 pds to 270 some pds! he has always called me beautiful an sexy. (I was the one insecure about looks now) but he has supported me every day! loves me like no other ever. If its true, take a relationship serious an honestly works together to make it work with NO excuses or any way outs it will work regardless of physical appearance. this man of mine is a true man..my ex was totally insecure an a womanizer. (from the getgo)...I hate it when I hear of others marriages ending when a spouse is trying to do something for themselves..especially in this way .best wishes all...

    Surgery today and pic

one of my gf had a acid peel a few months ago..it was her second time. she did it to have the aged/sun spots what ever you wanna call them to come off. I thought about it but with the inflammation rash I get on my face Its not for me. Im afraid it will urn to much but cant wait to see how your does! Im sure you'll be happy with it!
  11. its normal to go back n forth in emotions in your head! 2 wks prior to mine after 10 yrs or longer of prep I had already had my mind set. I was excited, nervous, anxious wondering if it would even work for me since I had done everything known to man! would not could not get it off! my first month was really hard Im not going to lie. but after the first 2 wks it got better an by the end of the month even better. hell yea I would do it again I wish I had done this yrs ago!! I am 5 months out an over 80 down. one of the best things I ever done for myself an no one else. its a huge lifestyle change. you have obviously prepared an gone thru all the steps your committed...its just scary as hell its the thoughts we think of thats the scarriest. I had myself worked up but would do it again in a heart beat!! down 80 some pds in 5 months...keep us posted!

    Help!

I was a wk after surgery before I could go! its pretty normal do you have any colace or softners to take? its bc the food reduction an your still more then likely not being able to drink the required amount yet. I got to where I bought suppository laxative. it drove me batty! if your on any meds it will also cause it.

    Bariatric Surgery and Alcoholism

I cant say much about this. alls I am going to say is all my preop screening was EXTREMELY extensive. very thorough. to family history all my issues for my weight . psych evaluation , dietician..they ran me thru the ringer. and from the BEGINNING it was DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL . It goes striaght thru the blood stream an it affects a person differantly an VERY quickly! they put the fear of alcohol in us!! the sugar from alcohol in the blood causes major insulin swings an the quicker it drops the more you want.I am not sure what to think about this. its possible that she was a self pay maybe an didnt get screened like those who depend on Ins an didnt have the proper education? I really dont no. but I can also see if a person has already a tendecy to WANT to drink (like in her genes bc of family prominates of drinking) if you already want it that small taste can take over an I mean the brain will crave more an more. I may be wrong but thats pretty much what was really instilled in us going thru our preop classes. I will be watching for others comments..
  15. what does the dr say about this? for me when I was in recovery yes the gas pains were pretty uncomfortable. an it did take me about 3 to 4 hrs to finally wake up. about the 4th hr I was up an trying to walk. my incisions were alittle uncomfortable but I managed. everyone is differant. its about a 4 hr drive between san antone an Houston. I have traveled that road many times. I lived in Pasadena/Deer park for 20 yrs then moved north. it just depends on which side of houston an dear lord the TRAFFIC!!! I take it someone will be with you..so your only going to be in an out same day surgery? or are you staying over 1 night? see what the surgeon says (in case you already have) an then see how you feel..that will be the true tale. keep us posted!

    hoop jumping

I am soo happy for you!!! you must have bc/bs...I had 4 plus major health issues as well an BMI was over 40..I had my approval within 48 hrs. I did go thru 3 differ preop classes, the psych evaluation and met with dietician. my endocrinologists had to release me once my thyroid function was in range an me an her worked closely to get that done. then she released me. hang in there!! your almost to the finish line!!! yay!! keep us posted..

    Coffee

are you talking about your coffee? I was served decaf the day in recovery! an I have drank it every since. now I drink half caf...yes I cant stay awake without a little..lol..what is on your protocol diet? mine was on mine. but theres no sugar. I used honey or cinnamon flavored liquid stevia an a lil coconut milk creamer... if its not on your protocol give the office a call.
  18. I feel for ya. I went thru the exact same things. how long were in after surgry? I told my surgeon about my esophagas spasms also I said I was going to stay another night to stay on IV I knew if I went home I would end up in ER over dehydration. mine finally eased up at 2 wks out. it was brutal for me as well..take it slow. its from the hernia repair. I went to my internists at 2 wks an he ordered me liquid lidicane. if you ask for it be extremely careful...it will numb you to drooling an it doesnt take much at all. I am sorry your going thru this as well. but believe me it does get better. my internists told me it would take a good 6 months for tummy an the repair to heal. so baby yourself...I hope you get feeling better soon!
  19. @freshair//yes it DOES get better! I remember my first 4 wks an it was brutal. for me anyways. I also had hernia repair and I had esophagas spasms like crazy with every sip I took. but after the end of that second wk they stopped..an I just took one day at a time did the protocol an the weight just kept dropping. that month was the LONGEST month of my life! haha.. but I got thru it. I ballooned up the most I had ever but I did it for me. no one else. taking one step at a time. surprising I am down over 80 in 5 months an so far so good. drink drink drink! stay as hydrated as you possibly can. it took me forever to nurse a bottle of water. it literally was every 15 min an all freaking day thing..trying to get my needed meds down well lets just say I didnt get them all down. but I did what I could. hang in there! it will be worth it! its a learning journey...one that I am sooo thankful I was privelaged to make for myself. (an of course the hubs loves it to) but he always supported me in my bad an fat days just as he does now...keep us posted! dont worry about the skin right now. just focus!

Plastic Surgery - Face - sagging skin

@@Queen of Crop..gotta a question you mentioned the latter issue..I no this sounds stupid but I am having female issues an was wondering if maybe my issues are from the weight loss or if maybe something else is going on with me? I hadnt thought of the weight loss and the so called latter would be related? if you want to PM me thats fine if you dont want to go into details on here I would appreciate some symptoms if you dont mind..I have already seen a gyn..I go again this wk for another opinion on my issues...maybe you can give me some input..thx
  21. been there done that! I swear thats all I did for 4 wks! it seemed to take me all freakin day just to get about what your doing down! its normal...what helped me get protein in (as much as I could) I bought a can of the unflavored whey an I would add a teas here an there to everything! if I had my coffee I would add a teas in..in my soup add a teas..in my pudding add a teas in...I added it every where...yea I got sick of it! but I did it...I even bought the flavored protein drink mixes you just add it to the water an I killed 2 birds with 1 stone. I also bought chike products..they are really good. differant flavors. it will take a while to be able to get the so called required in..tummy stays swelled for a few months. by the end of 2 months I was gagging on protein shakes..haha..I still drink the pure protein brand..very low sugar an carbs great taste. I also by the whey shots now..theres days Im not hungry. I keep those on hand. walmart, cvs carrys them..small ones have like 28 grms easy to get down an the larger ones are like 48 grams...hang in there! its all worth it! it gets soo much better..doing great!

    Post op diet struggles

by 6 wks I just tolerated what my tummy would. i went back in forth. I am 5 months out for the first 3 months or so I still mostly stuck with softer side..I would eat a bite or 2 of grilled chicken an at times I could feel like it was a bit to early so I would back off. I figured I would be more on the safe side ...still chew really good an eat slow. my dr told me if I can tolerate then fine all tummys heal differant paces. I didnt even do the puree...I ate the soft things an then trial an error on like the chicken or tuna..etc...you didnt screw up..I still at times for a meal would rather just drink my Protein or eat soft..if I dont have to cook I dont..haha..
  23. wow...I have read the comments and I tend to agree ...I have a question or 2 IF you dont mind me asking or sharing I dont want to get into others business but since this is a learning question/answer support forum Im diving in...you can either answer honestly or just say its none of my or our business..1. you mentioned you have PCOS. I do have a niece with this also..it does an can contribute to the weight issue alot bc its hormonal. are you seeing a gyn or endocrinologists for this or being treated? and are they referring you to a WLS to have this done? have they mentioned maybe having a hysterectomy to remove/resolve this hormonal issue an then take supplimental hormones in replace of the ovaries? Is your dr treating this with bc pills..etc? Im sorry..I dont mean to pry...theres reasons why I am asking. I had PCOS from a very young age...I started gaining weight at 17...used bc pills several yrs..it took me a yr an half to get pregnant with both of my kids. I started getting soo sick in my mid 20s. Im over 50 now. I have had my share of yrs of yo yo if you wanna call it dieting..the more I dieted the bigger I got. my weight was up an down over 30 yrs. yrs ago when I reached 200 I had myself convinced I still looked good. but my body was breaking down fast. I didnt think I looked bad. I had a total hysterectomy in my middle 30s. then menapause them issues...then I couldnt hardly move joints, stiffness etc...15 yrs down the road I had developed over 12 differant dx...autoimmune disease, thyroid disease etx..now thyroid med for rest of my life.....2. is this not YOUR choice to have this WLS bc if not Im kinda confused of why your here? Im not being mean or judging just trying to help you ...with the top 2 issues you mentioned to begin with I get the idea it almost sounds like your limitaton of amount of food you would be able to eat BOTHERS you or you use food as a security blanket which most ppl do but there is also underlyning reasons WHY ppl eat an thats to calm oursleves down with comfort...but yet you made another comment you dont eat MASSIVE amounts...am I missing something here? and I have heard of plus size women wanting to stay plus size not only for their security blanket AND their hubs security. (not saying this is you guys) but let me tell ya something from my journey..I agree with others..I had myself convinced I wasnt that over weight for yrs! it was ok...this past yr I put on 50 pds from not eating what I thought wasnt much calories...WRONG!!!! I was brainwashed..I did it to myself..but I had to make my own personal desision I didnt ask my hubs or worry about him..this was MY health at severe risk an obese WILL cause BAD health issues if you dont have them now it will happen. I woke up one day an said IM DONE! NOT carrying around this FAT suit any more. trying clothes on was exhausting! clothes getting from 1x to 2x almost to a 3x..yes I was 100+ over weight! I am 5 months out an over 80 pds down now..I thought I knew myself. boy was I wrong..I am seeing my true self for the first time in my life. an I am loving it. I had been thru 10 yrs of therapy (talk therapy) I got to the underlyning issues..I knew it was my time and ready. you MUST be READY for YOU an NO ONE ELSE. an as far as loose skin..hell yea it might happen. but to me I told the hubs listen if I am doing this an I need a little help with some parts you bet Im having it done. thats not my worry for now. later I'll deal with it...one step at a time. but ya know, I want to be around to live with my hubs for as long as possible. this is your decision be absolutly sure going in ..if its others steering you here then it sounds like its something you dont really want. I made up my mind an with 5 months out I eat sensible I use the myfitnesspal an for my stomach size I do fine. I dont NEED food for comfort anymore. I eat to live not live to eat. plz dont get offended thats not my goal. best wishes hope you make the right choice for you an you only...but until you get the PCOS an hormones starightened out first an fixed Im not sure if this is right for you ...my thyroid had to be working right in order to have this done an work properly or it would have been useless...I got it addressed an fixed an it works appropriatly now.
