WTF? Not Losing 3.5 weeks Post

Are you getting in all of your Protein, try upping it even more. Also are you drinking enough Water, you should get in at least 64 ounces a day and more if you can find the time. Are you NOT drinking with your meals? You did not give us much to go on here, except that you stopped losing. If you are doing all of those things and are still hungry and not losing then yes you probably need a fill. I am 14 weeks post op and have had no fill and I am not hungry. I eat alot of protein though, because it is what keeps us fuller longer.

Comparing FREE food diary and calorie counters

I started at Fitday.com and then moved to SparkPeople I love the site. I love the motivation that I get from being on a Team of LapBanders that are striving for the the same goals and are motivated. I alos love being able to log all of my fitness and food and keep that on track. I like the rewards the site affords with its SparkPoints as well and I also track my water and fruit and vegtables here as well. It lets you set other goals as well not just weight. Love it, love it!!

    Gratitude

Julie: You have been one of my mentors that I look up to on this site. Your positive reinforcement that I would read while waiting to be banded really helped me in my mindset going into my surgery. I feel it is so very important to have the goal oriented and go get em mindset with this, I also believe that the more you put into your bands success the more successful you will be. Lady you have done a fantastic job in one year. You have made some of the hardest decisions and choices anyone should ever have to make. You are healthier both mentally and physically which helps us to deal with daily ups and downs in our lives much more headon. Congratulations for being a MOTIVATOR for myself and others here at LBT. I am truly grateful to have people like you here. I am certain your goal will be met sooner than later. Hugz,
  11. I was terrified of this before being banded. I was a 2-3 glass of something with my meals. I could not imagine not drinking. Let me honestly say that it has not been a huge issue for me. I follow the rules and I monitor it closely I like to wait 45 minute to an hour after my meals before I drink, and I do believe this is one reason I am not hungry. The food will stay in your pouch longer if you do not push it out with liquid therefore causing you to remain fuller longer. I looked at this way......if they were saying this was highly important.....in our classes before surgery.....it was not to torture but to bring success in the process. I was able to adjust to it just fine. As long as you drink, drink, drink before and after and keep well hydrated you will not need the drink with the food. It has truly amazed me that I do not even try to drink with meals. Hope this helps, and great luck with your upcoming Surgery!!

    Bathing Suits?!

Well my 22 size suite is history after 50 pounds gone I can no longer deal with the sag everywhere. I do Water aerobics three times a week and the bouncing is killing the GIRLS...LOL I found as suit after looking everywhere for just a regular tank suit, that would tighlty support my breasts. LOL that is a joke. They do not make them for D cup women...LOL I found my suit at Walmart and it fits great it is a size 18......I imagine in another 4 months I may need a new one again.....oh the price of becoming thin.....LOL I think I can live with it!!!!!

    Completely Unfilled & Still Restricted

I agree with Jack..what does your surgeon suggest. This is not a healthy diet. What you describe is an eating disorder in the making. Solid protein is what you should be eating and it is what keeps us fuller longer. I was told to stay away from soups and soft foods that would flow through my band. Simply because they defeat the purpose of the band. I am following this advice and it works wonders for me, as I have had no FILL and am not hungry. 14 weeks out and I feel great. I am able to eat meat and other foods without much problem as long as I chew them very very well. I would think they would want to find out why you cannot eat.

    EEGADS I have the Flu!!

Elle I am with ya...Yes I miss working out more than eating....LOL I can't believe that I am saying that.....my brother was over this weekend and he said I look amazing, but he said even more amazing is my dedication to the gym! My brother weighs 160 pounds soaking wet....LOL He is 6 feet tall and has always been a swimmer. He has never had a weight problem. He is happy that I have taken up being active. He said he would never have bet on that I would. He hugged me and told me how proud he was of me for that. I do feel like working out has changed my whole attitude as well as how much better I feel emotionally and physically. No going back...to the sedintary life I had so become accustomed too that is for sure!
  20. We were told to be on Clear Liquids for 5 days prior to surgery. We had to have Protein added to these clear liquids however. I used unjury chicken flavor and had broth. We could eat as much of the clear liquids as we wanted no limits. I admit the first couple of days were not fun since I did this while working fulltime. However, I stuck to it, and I lost 10 pounds in 5 days and jump started my weightloss, I am glad I did not cheat. It is very important to shrink your liver, because it is directly in the way of this surgery, and it is also easy to nick it. As it was my spleen was nicked and I spent the night in the hospital. I am not for cheating in this whole process, simply because cheating is what got me here in the first place. By telling myself this "One time" won't hurt.....LOL Well it hurt me all the way to a whopping 287 pounds. I will never be that lacksidazical again about my weight or about eating the right things. Even now when I do allow myself a bite of indulgence I feel guilt..LOL
  21. Kristin1031

    Fine until....

I firmly believe that you must be ready for this surgery both physically as well as emotionally. If you truly want to change your life forever, and do what it takes to make those changes last, then the band will be a tool to assist you in those endeavors. But if you just want a quick fix to your life long struggle with obesity then you will most likely not succeed. I have two people that I work with who both had RNY one fours ago and one 3 years ago. They are both gaining back their weight, one has already topped her highest weight and the other one has regained 50 pounds. Y you ask? Because they refused to eat with the pouch. You cannot overeat ever again with WLS. This means you cannot choose to eat over the size of your pouch if you do, you will sabotage the whole process. They eat enormous amounts of food again. I can hardly believe it , when I am sitting there with my measly three ounces of food. Sad to say but they know they are doing it. WLS is not a bandaid to cover up our emotional eating problems, it will not repair them at all......we have to do this all on our own. We have to work through those issues as to what makes us eat when we are NOT hungry. I have not had any real hunger since being banded....and I have not had a FILL yet. I am one of the few.....but happy!! Whatever choice you make......go with it and let no one deter you from your goal. Let no one sabotage your effort......the band will help you reach every goal you set.......but you are the one in control NOT the band!! Good Luck with your adventure!! We are all here for you.

    EEGADS I have the Flu!!

Thanks Jill...I am in bed as we speak just sitting here bundled in covers and shivering......I am going to have some hot Soup for supper just to warm me up a bit. I have no desire to eat.....but am very thirsty.....guess that is the fever!! I hope everyone stays well out there, it is not fun being sick with the band.....they were worried about my hydration already. Hope it passes soon!
  23. Kristin1031

    What are you eating Nymph's?

I agree with Shortgal here......you have to be careful of getting an eating disorder here......they warned us of people who get banded and then will not touch solids....they just drink their calories and eat Soup. Your body is not made to go without solid food......if you do it for too long it will not accept it once you start back, this is onething that happens with anorexia nervosa patients. So be very careful of your liquids and no solids. And you should be getting 60 grams of Protein minimum in the 1st 3 months after surgery and our surgeons like you to keep it at that forever if you can. I would say you might need unfilled, sounds like you are too tight!
  24. Kristin1031

    Who has PB'd?

I know I am the odd one out.....but yes I have restriction.......LOL I think that is why I have not felt real hunger since my band was put on. I am thrilled with that trust me. I Know how lucky I am for that as well. But oh god the band hurts when you get stuck....LOL I hate that I have PB'd twice but I know folks who do it much more often that have had lots of fills as well!! Hugz Ladies on our great success!!
