How often do you have a protein shake for breakfast?
luv2read replied to mandi78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I use Unjury and love it, too. I drink a protein shake for breakfast. It's fast and easy -- and tastes good. -
I'm a New Balance lover, too! I have model 926 and love them!

Let's get to know the TENS...come on you know you wanna!

Here are some better-sized "before" pictures. Since the pictures were taken, I'm down a size in both my tops and jeans and 3 sizes in my bra (YEA!)! A work in progress! -
I was banded October 15th and my first fill is November 21 -- the day before Thanksgiving. Yikes! I can't say I'm really hungry. In fact, I've pretty much just been drinking my protein shakes -- and LOTS of water. My dr. requires a 2-week liquid diet after surgery, so next week I'll try mushies.

Holy cow, cQQlgirl! I was banded on the 15th, too, and am still on liquids. I was told to stay on the liquid diet for at least a week after the surgery. I go for my one-week post-op visit with the dr tomorrow and am hoping he will let me start mushies. After 4 weeks of liquid, I'm ready for something more!

Do You have to grind up your meds?
luv2read replied to beckymein1021's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried it in pudding, too, but think applesauce is better. They make a liquid Tylenol, too, which has been a lifesaver for me! -
As long as it's clear, I was told I could drink it. The 2-week liquid diet isn't fun, but so worth it! Hang in there! (Drink LOTS of water!)

I got banded a week ago today. I was told I would need to grind them for 2 weeks. I agree -- it IS nasty! I put it in applesauce, which makes it a little better. Can't wait to see if I can just take the pills whole -- they really aren't very big! Good luck! -
I had surgery Monday, Oct. 15, stayed overnight and went home Tuesday.

TENaciousTENS "roll call" as promised!
luv2read replied to OregonHolly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I thought the day would never get here, but yet here it is gone already! I had a really good experience. None of the gas I was warned about -- PTL! My right side, where the port is, is still sore, but the Tylenol liquid helps a lot. I'm drinking my protein shakes again and LOTS of water and walking. So far so good. I go to my dr. next Wednesday for my one-week checkup and am anxious to see how much I've lost. I gotta tell you, though, I am looking forward to mushies!! :phanvan -
Banded on the 15th..and I'm in SO much PAIN
luv2read replied to NP1978's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on Monday, Oct. 15th, and am VERY grateful I haven't had the gas pains. My right side, where my port is, is still somewhat painful, but I'm just taking Tylenol Liquid for it and it is working for me. I walked a lot before the surgery - was up to an hour a day, 3.25 miles - and I think maybe that helped. I also was up walking the night of my surgery and walked a lot the next day while at the hospital. I've been tired, but can't say I'm hurting all that much. I'm so sorry some of ya'll are having a rough time of it. Hang in there! -
You can get Unjury online, also, and I think the turnaround is really quick. Vanilla and chocolate you mix with milk, strawberry and chicken broth you mix with water. You might check with your local hospital and see if they carry it. That is actually where I get it -- from the pharmacy at the hospital. It is really good.

I've been on a 2-week liquid diet -- my surgery is Monday. I used Unjury and LOVE it! Be sure to drink lots of water. That will help.

Hi! I'm Evelyn and I live in lovely Pleasant Hill, Iowa, with my high school sweetheart -- married 36 years in November. How time flies! We have two beautiful kids, a son 30 and a daughter 28. Our son is a free spirit and lives for today and not married. Our daughter is a doctor and has 2 years of residency to do, which she is doing at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Not too far away, which is great! She has been married for 3 years now but, of course, no grandkids yet -- darn it! :nervous I'm thinking it will be a couple of years, but that's okay because by then he or she will have a thinner and healthier grandma! I am a legal secretary and work downtown Des Moines. I love to read (thus the log-in name!) and hang out with my hubby. I get banded Monday, the 15th, and can't wait! :clap2: 2 more days! This is my "before" picture. Can't wait for the "after"! Evelyn -

I am being banded October 15 -- 8 more days. I'm nervous and excited at the same time, very confusing!
