sweethinkr replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hi all, I just wanted to say hello and share my good news. As of today, 4 days before my 6 month post-op, I have lost 65 pounds and couldn't be more pleased! I simply can't believe it, this band is an amazing thing! -

We just have to keep trucking along. I try not to let the fact that others have lost so much so quickly and I haven't get to me. I will lose it and I'm in no rush to do it. You're doing great by the way! Nice job! -

This board is hard to find a home on it seems, I hope I can find one here! I was banded June 4, 2007 and have lost 55 pounds so far. Slow but sure. My BMI is now finally below 50 which is a wonderful feeling! I struggle with eating lately and am hoping this fill will loosen up just a tiny bit. Doc thinks it's find and wants to leave it as is and let it loosen up naturally. Some days I can eat a lot and others not much at all. I have finally joined a gym and hope to start a good workout routine this week. I am hoping this will rejuvinate my weight loss. So just a little about me, hello to all! -
How cute! I have two chihuahuas. They are a handful, aren't they?!

I was like that for almost three months. It took another fill after that before I couldn't eat as much. Hang in there, it will get better. Until then, satisfy your hunger, you're going to go crazy if you don't.

The smaller you are, whether using the lap band or not, the slower you will lose weight, it's just the way the body works the closer it gets to it's normal weight. Welcome to the boards!

What does proper restriction feel like???

I thought I was too tight and talked to my doctor. His response was basically there is no cookie cutter response to how tight is too tight. His goal is to help me lose weight. My fill is super tight, he looked at it on fluro, but it will help me to lose weight. He said he doesn't know, as I lose weight, how quickly I will lose it around my stomach. His goal is to do as few fills as possible. He left it up to me. Do you want to be able to eat more, or lose weight quicker. I chose the latter. But each doc is different to, so I would say it's really a good time to talk to your doctor about it and see what he/she thinks. -
I'm in Klamath Falls here and also had my band done by Dr. Mirande! He rocks!

Hello all! I was banded 6/4/07 and just found this board, so far very cool place! But a little hard to navigate for me. I'll get it eventually though!

I'm so fed up with the petty things going on over there and that used to be nurse who insists on her way being the only way and nagging you with post after post about how you're doctor is wrong and she is right. Someone told me about this forum and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you. I hope I can find a good home here! I am a single girl, 31 years young, a CPA here in Oregon. I have two Chihuahuas who are my "kids" and I look to these forums for guidance as well as continued motivation. nice to meet ya! :clap2:
