I was banded on mon and boy do I feel pretty good. I am having some pain which I am taking some pain killers for. I am still pretty sleepy so I keep on dozing off and on today. I was most comfortable sleeping on my couch since I was able to sleep semi sitting up so it wasn't soo hard to get up. My bed is really hard to get up from. I hope tomm I will not have as much pain. I keep on walking and that feels great. I am so happy that I made this choice to do the surgery. anyways just a little update. I will be in touch in a day or two to let u know how I feeling then.

I had the surgery yesterday and I started with a broth this morning in the hospital and all eve I have been drinking a shake. I put in some fruit to give me a few more calories. I also have been drinking water I don't have too much of an appetite for anything else and I can't even seem to finish the shake I made. I think I am going to save the rest for tomm. How did anyone else handle it right after surgery??

I just came home from the hospital and am really tired and pretty weak. Thank G-d it went really well. I didn;t have too much pain except from the gass which I walked off. Last night I was teh only one who really slept in my room. I was in a 4 person room. My roomates were really nice if u are here anyone from NYU last night hi!!! I woke up and was in pain this morning but I waited till closer till when I was going to leave to take something since I wanted to not be in pain when I went up my stairs at home and for the car ride home. I am soooo glad I did the surgery. I am already less hungry and I feel good just weak since I am just a day out. I am going to lay down now but will write more later.

I am having my the surgery the same day with Dr. Fielding. What time do u have to be there? I have to be there at 8 am. I can't beleive its less then two days away!:tongue2:

Well I was away for three days due to my holidays and I see I missed soo much. I am glad to hear that everyone is doing well. I got my chest x-ray results back mon and they said it was fine boy did I give a sigh of relief that it will be on time. I just hope that they don;t open me up and then close me b/c my liver is too fatty. I haven't lost too much weight just about 2-3 pd and i have been very strict about my diet. I got a little fusturated and tonight had a small bite and I mean a real small bite of brownies that I made for my guests for the holiday. I am going to tell dh to finish it I can't have it in the house its too much of a temptation for me. I can't believe that I have 4 more days till my surgery!! I am driving my dh crazy with my counting. But I am nervous and very excited that I am getting this done its somehting I have been waiting for for a long time. anyways enough rambling for now I am going to find out what time I have to be there tomm so I will be in touch. I have 8 days left and I can't wait till surgery. I am getting nervous. I had a little snag which I hope was cleared up with my chest x-ray which didn;t come out clear. Until I hear from NYU that they recieved my new x-ray and it was fine I am going to be nervous. My liquid diet is going well I am getting used to eating so little and and becoming fuller when I drink the protein shakes. I have to drink 5 a day. I have my holidays this week if I survive this week I will be fine. anyways good for those having surgery this week.

Any one else doing the surgery want a partner? I am doing it on the 6th of Oct. So anyone else from that day I would love to have a friend to go through with it all. Please pm me.

My surgery is Oct 6 and I start my preop on mon. what is everyone having for the last meal? I keep telling my dh that is it no more this no more that I think he is getting tired of me saying that. Anyone else from Oct 6 want to be my buddy? I can realyl use someone else to help me with this preop diet and through the surgery.

I got a call today that I was thank g-d approved for surgery which will take place Oct 6th G-d willing. I am soo excited and can't wait!!!:thumbup:

I start my my two week preop diet on mon and I am nervous. I can have protein shakes 2 cups of non carb veggies like carrots, lettuce, zuccunni etc. and suger free Jello and crystal Light and water. I have enough of a selection I guess to not get too bored. I made some soups and froze them for next two weeks and for after surgery today. I am going to make some more tomorrow I think if I have time. Wow I can't believe surgery is coming up soon. I can't wait!!!

I had mine out and its going to be almost two years to the date of when my lapband surgery will be. No one in my family has a problem with their gallbladder. I am just lucky!! I such horrible attacks and I couldn't eat. I was sooo nauseas!!! I lost weight and was soo sick before I had it out but thank g-d the recovery after was easy. I hope that when I have the LB it will be as easy of a recovery.

I decided to go with Dr Fielding since my workmate who did the sugery told me that I would like his personality and she was right. My husband is doing it with Dr. Ren and he is happy with his choice. I am having my surgery a whole month earlier then him basically since he has medical things that I don't have to worry about. Like he has a cut that has to heal and he has to go for the sleep study. I can't wait till my surgery!!!

I am soooo excited I got a date Oct. 6. I can't wait I still have to wait for ins approval but I excited that at least I have a date to look forward to. :party:

I am being banded Oct 6 in NYU. The office isn't bad other then being soooo small. I am using Dr. Fielding he is really nice. I am glad I made this choice for surgery and I can't wait to start my life a new.

My husband is Nov 10 with Dr. Ren and I still don;t know when my date is my cons with Dr. Fielding is next week.

My hubby had his consult today well actually according to the time yesterday and his surgery isn't scheduled until Nov 10. I am still deciding if I want to do the surgery the same day as him or not. We don;t have any kids yet so that isn't the problem but well I am having secound thoughts about it and well I guess I have until next week to think about it but I would like everyones opinion about what they would suggest.

B/c of our holidays that are coming up and the doubt of getting a date in sept I will probably be joining u in Oct. I can't wait to get it done!!!

I am having my consult with Dr. Fielding on sept 2 and I hope that I can have surgery not too much longer after that. I am anxious to get it done with so that I can start to feel heathy adn not always soo tired since I am soo overweight. The major problem is that I am a religous Jew and that the holidays are coming up. I guess we will see when we can schedule and decide from there if I just will wait till after the holidays. my hubby is having his consult this week with Dr. Ren and I hope that he will get his surgery done soon. I guess we will see. I will keep you all updated.

I wanted to use Dr. Fielding and dh is using Dr. Ren he was able to get his consult a week faster then I was but truthfully he needs the surgery before me b/c of his health.

My hubby and I want to loose weight I have tried sooo many things and nothing has worked and I am just fed up with feeling this way and being depressed about my weight since I don;t feel like I am worth looking at. I also have going crazy since I am married 7yrs and I really want to have a child I am already 30 and I always wanted a big family I guess that won't happen at least not as big as I wanted. Otherwise my hubby and are really excited about doing this together since we both are really overweight and know that as a team we will do really well!! That is it for now! I am going for the physc eval on fri and I hope that the rest will go very fast. I just celeberated my 7th anniv. and I can't wait to try to get PG. I was told that I had to wait 6mnth which is a long time but I think that I can handle that. I am not that old but in my circles ( I am a religous Jew) everyone has big family and I can;t wait to get started on my family.

Finally my hubby and have made the decsion that we both want to do it as soon as possible. We are both morbidly obese. My husband health has been greatly effected. He has been in the hospital so many times with cellulitis that the dr said if he lost the weight would not be such an issue. My health is effected in the way that I can't get pg since my dr said it would be too risky for me and my future child. So while I am going to be celeberating my 7th aniversary soon I am hoping that I will loose the weight soon so that i can finally have that child I have been dreaming about. I know that this is no miracle and that we getting unto something that is a lot of work but I am ready for it. I have been a very overweight child and teen and I am ready to loose it and to take control of my weight. I have a goal to look forward too and I can;t wait till I get there. Anyways that is it for now if anyone has questions or comments please feel free to post them and I hope that I will answer them as soon as I can. Sim78
