Trying to eat and I am afraid.
Angel❤️ replied to pik's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got thrush as well and I brushed my tongue with peroxide twice a day and it went away. That stuff was gross! -
@@pik thank you so much - that makes me feel much better. I started at 292 at my first surgeon visit and am now at 247 but I was afraid I was losing too slowly. I experienced ALOT of shortness if breath as well after trying to shower. I didn't get through that process until I was well into eating more foods. It got quite frustrating because I'm very independent. Even now, my incision on the right side still slows me down mid day to the point I have to sit or lay down for a while. I'm so thankful my surgeon gave me 6 weeks before having to return to work. I can't wait until I'm back to 'normal' with regard to not being in pain or being physically limited.

Trying to eat and I am afraid.

My NUT tells me to get my protein first and foremost then foods. I try to mix it up with scrambled eggs, moist chicken, fish, etc. I also dabble with mashed potatoes, grits, and applesauce. I eat so slow (because I despise vomiting) my stuff ends up getting cold. Lol -
Does anyone know if not eating enough will cause your weight loss to slow down after RNY? I tracked my food yesterday and only had 300 calories for the entire day. I'm 3 weeks post op and eating soft/regular foods.

when Is Ok to go outside to walk after gastric bypass surgery?
Angel❤️ replied to bearmcfly's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Ditto - I was given a walking only restriction for 6 weeks, but no restrictions on inside vs. outside. I was only able to walk to my mailbox at first (very short distance as I have a two car long driveway) and then progressed to walking three houses up, half a block, etc. almost 3 weeks out and I'm getting around MUCH more. Slow and steady wins the race. Good luck! -
surgery Monday and I'm fearful
Angel❤️ replied to MaureenS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations Casey999 on your choice to live a healthier lifestyle! It is so normal to be nervous about the surgery, and almost odd not to be. All in all, I say trust that all will go well and you will soon find yourself on the loser's bench which is an awesome place to be! I had my RNY on the 8th of this month, and sadly, I also experienced unsupportive reactions from people I considered friends. I leaned that some of their negativity was based in fear (will I still want to be friends with them or would my attitude change and no longer want to be around them), or based on jealousy (some people simply don't like it when you make a choice to improve and actually take the steps to do it). You can't do much about either situation because they are choices THEY are making. Hopefully over time, those who worry about losing you as a friend will come around by asking questions and getting to understand that you, as your core person, will hopefully be the same. Those who are jealous and mean, don't share anything with them. They will seek out opportunities to find fault in what you're doing and capitalize on challenges you may face. Focus on you and your success and everything (and everyone) else will fall right into place. All the best tomorrow! :-) -
@@Leena - glad you're home and doing better! You certainly deserve to be on the upside by now. :-) Each day I'm feeling better and have more energy. Still struggle with getting the shakes in and haven't had any problems on soft foods. I just chew everything until it's applesauce. Irritating how quickly your food can get cold while you're spacing out your bites lol but it's a small price to pay! Losing slower than I expected, down 11lbs since my surgery on the 8th and down a total if 43lbs since my highest weight in April, but I'm good as long as I'm losing. Will very shortly need to start getting some clothes...starting to get that 'full diaper booty' (as my husband calls it) in all if my pants! Lol. What an awesome problem to have!!! Hope all are doing well - would love to see your updates!

Yep...one big one right where I got my blood thinner shots. Not near any incisions either. Tender to the touch, but not painful. I made a note to follow up with my surgeon.

Hey @ ferguson23024! The only thing that actually made my incision feel better was walking. I would walk extremely slow in the beginning, adding light pressure to 'support' it, but I find now, the more inactive I am, the area gets more tender/sore. Kinda weird, but walking really has been the staple in this process for me.

Any suggestions on a good salt/sweet food combo that I can have that would kill this craving...I'm two weeks post op and on soft foods...help!

Angel❤️ replied to Angel❤️'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So my body decided to scold me today for eating too quickly.....NOT CUTE. Lesson learned!! -
OMG mamie60 - I wanna be you when I grow up! LOLOLOLOL I'm on purée/soft mixture and still measure to keep myself honest. I just kicked up the exercise within the last few days, so hopefully til start melting off. Heaven knows I did onto go through this process to stall 2 weeks in! I lost more weight post op! On another note - great job on your loss and getting to such an awesome activity level! Surgery has done very well by you!

Looks like I'm missing out on the secret! Lol How's everyone losing so fast? Not able to eat? Working out everyday? Were your original weights inclusive of the surgery fluid weight? I'm wondering what the heck I'm missing LOLOLOL!

RNY - how are you feeling?
Angel❤️ replied to Angel❤️'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@allforkarya - yesterday was HORRIBLE for me. Nauseous and extremely tired all day and spent the full day in bed. Today - complete opposite. I've been up and out walking (1.5 miles so far today), ate breakfast, lunch, and feel great. I wonder if we'll just have those 'off days' over the next several weeks/months until healing really completes? -

RNY - how are you feeling?
Angel❤️ replied to Angel❤️'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So today was not fabulous. Felt nauseous and tired all day and not sure why because yesterday I got all my meals, protein, supplements/vitamins, fluids, AND exercise in. So not sure what gives. I am so looking forward to tomorrow being a better day. Not really feeling like moving backwards in this process! Grrr..... -
Is it just me? I still have to take lortab every 4 hours for the really bad pulling/pain around one particular incision on the right side of my belly. Because lortab makes me tired, I'm sleeping a lot and can really only get around enough to get my meals and shower each day. I really thought I'd be further along in my movement by now. What gives?

Question: has anyone experienced being sick of counting, measuring and thinking about what you can eat, how you can eat it, when you have to eat it, etc? -
SD 7/8 SW 260 CW 252 8 lbs 12 days post op

I was told no gum due to damage if swallowed. Straws were advised against due to excess air you take in when using them.
