HHi hi guys. Im im i hospital bee 26 houfs si ce i ated. Nurses wanted me to start dri ki g now but it fes so unco.fortable & wi dy. Ease so.o e tells mhis goes away. Help!

Youre a teacher? Me too - english. Oo thats a good idea to set a goal for the next day, & if the kids force you into action well... what can you do!? Its 1 week ago now..no pain no meds,no probs except...no poop. Seriously. Feel bloated and taken 2 lots of laxative now & still nothing. I guess a week of clear liqiids just makes pee & theres nothing to come out? Today i start a week of non clear liquids, soups smoothies etc. Hopefully that should start something off. Have you dealt with head hunger yet? Last night i really wanted a takeaway & a beer...even though i didnt. I can never overeat again. slightly scared about that.

No def not driving yet.if nothing else it would invalidate my insurance :-0 i live in a village - doc, shop, school, post office, chemist etc all within walkung distance. So until i go back to work i wont need to drive. That said im currently on a bus going 3 miles into nearest town bc apparently we NEED white loom bands im going to take it v slow tho cos its hot & actually quite pleased to be out village. Glad to hear youve showered etc. & reassuring youre hungry too. Im finding ice lollies helpful for that, they go down so much better than a drink. Are you on myfitnesspal? Hi manofsize Thank you yes much better today. GP took me off one anti sickness. Forgot what its called - a patch behind ear thats changed every 3 days - may take a few days to clear from my system but blurriness definitely improved in the 12 hours ive been off. He thinks the amount of mefs ive been given is overkill anyway...im sure my consultant knows best though...on the other hand it doesnt feel right taking so much so tosay ive had anti coagulant, nurofen, diclofenac only. Other knew developments: my tummys been rumbling so bad!! Cant do alot about it either. Ive lost 2.5kgs since saturday! Still no number 2 despite taking laxative yesterday. How have you been today?

Hi manofsize, I had my op 4 days ago and today is the first morning i woke up feeling human, been feeling very weak and wobbly so far. I'm off to my docs in a minte b/c ive got blurry vision which maybe caused by one of the anti sickness meds. I know what you mean about support from strangers! I joined this forum just a few hours after i came round as i just wanted to talk to people who had it done. tbh i wasnt expecting to feel this rubbish. but the plication is big surgery... We can support eachother! Best wishes

Still got blurred vision though...may ask the nurse about that tomorrow. Anyone else had that? Dr google tells me its a possible side effect of a ga tho ive had several previously with no trouble.

Well im home now, not much less uncomfortable but happy that i can potter around the garden etc. Only slightly worried one of the kids may accidentally whack me in the stomach! Today ive had a strawberry milkshake the hospital gave me which was horrid and only had a few sips of - seemed to block me up straight away. Then had some apple juice. Since ive been home ive had 1 glass water 1 options and 1callipo lolly. Also just made the family spagetti & meatballs without being the slightest bit tempted.

Oh really SandyM? Hope that happens for me otherwise it would be so difficult to quench thirst in summer & doing exercise (not that ive done any for ages...) Anyway im home now, just had an ice lolly. Feeling really wierd & spaced out but also so excited to have finally had it after a long wait. Chelly sounds geat, i will keep that in mind over the next few days :-)

Ah thanks so much people great to hear. Had a panic moment bc im hoping to go home today and so i need to get fluids down - which unless im imagining it - feels easier. When the consultant came by yestetday he said well thats the op youve had, youll never be able to drink normally! I know that but i cant put up with this tightness for ever! Its only day two ill probably be laughing about this next week :-)

Ah phew. Was beginning to regret it bc i had a band fitted 10 yrs ago and whenever it was filled it felt knd of the same & im just wondering if ive swopped for the sameproblem! Thanks for replying guys, nurses are friendly but theyve never had wls i want to chat with people who have really. Feel a bit teary now hoping ive done the right thing xx
