    Swimming post-op

Thanks for the feedback/ advice. I don't have drain site (my surgeon doesn't do that), so maybe that's why they say only three weeks? I wonder...
  2. Get it, girl! You look great, and you can tell that you FEEL great, too. You're an inspiration, I'm 2 weeks out of surgery today!

    June 30th Surgery Date

I'm just seeing this thread now, but I was also "sleeved" on 6/30. Feeling pretty great, moving on from Soups and shakes to purées tomorrow. Hope everyone is feeling/ doing well!

    Largest incision site opened

This sounds awful! How are you feeling now? Better, I hope...
  5. I'm still on phase 2 of the post-op diet (full liquids like soups and protein shakes) and I can have 8-9 ounces of "creamy" soup (ie tomato, low fat mushroom) without a problem. Should I be concerned? I heard I'm only supposed to be able to tolerate 4-6 ounces... Or is that only "solid" food? So confusing, please help!
  6. After seeing this comment, I actually called my surgeon's office to ask about this, and I was told that if I'm able to get 8 ounces of soup or Isopure in at a time, it's okay (actually better, since then I don't have to sip all day long to get my protein in). I will definitely follow the portion sizes for foods when I begin taking in solids.
  7. I get my protein water at GNC. It's called Isopure. 40 grams of protein per 20 ounce bottle. Tastes good, too.
  8. Thank you for all of these responses, they make me feel SO much better. I was beginning to wonder if they took enough of my stomach out! Lol
  9. From someone who has been through this VERY recently (I'm 12 days out), I can tell you that the whole experience has been way easier than expected. No one was more worried than I was pre-op, and it was all for nothing. The pain was totally tolerable and it wasn't even real pain... More discomfort than anything else. Out of the 6 holes in my abdomen, the only one that really "hurt" was the biggest one (where my stomach was removed from), and even that just felt like a big bruise. I had absolutely no pain at all after 7 days, and now I'm feeling fantastic. So, no worries! You'll all do great!
  10. I posted something like this on another thread, but I'm really confused and looking for some help. My sleeve was done this past Monday, June 30th. I'm on clear liquids with protein (Isopure drinks, jello made with isopure, broth with added protein powder) plus any zero cal beverages until Monday, which will be one full week. Then I transition to full liquids (soy milk, protein shakes, etc.). I'm not having any trouble getting the appropriate liquids down at all, and I'm stArting to worry about that. Like maybe this should be harder? Please, someone tell me I'm crazy!

    Surgery on 6/30/14

Hello all June 30 sleevers! My surgery went as planned on Monday. I spent one night in the hospital and was released Tuesday evening (around 6:30). I have been at my mom's house since, and I'm feeling pretty great. My surgeon doesn't put in a drain anymore (unless he thinks you really need it), so I'm happy about that. I'm able to get around just fine, tolerating the liquid diet without a problem, and getting in enough Protein and fluids. Other then some residual pain, I feel pretty great! Hood you're all doing well!

    Surgery on 6/30/14

I'm going in tomorrow as well, 5:30 am. I'm assuming my surgery will be around 7. I'm very nervous and very excited and I just hope that everything goes well. Good luck to all of you!

    I'm a post-op girl!

Thank you for your kind words! I'm having the sleeve, and I just realized I'm probably posting in the wrong place... Oops
  15. I'm going in tomorrow! 34/F/NY Nervous as anything, just want to get this over with!
  16. Hi All, I've been browsing these boards for a while and finally decided to create an account an introduce myself. My name is Julie, I'm a 34-year-old elementary school teacher from NY/ NJ (I live in Staten Island, and teach in NJ). My summer vacation began yesterday, and my surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. I'm feeling a very strong mix of excitement, terror, and anxiety, but I'm trying to block it out and focus on the positives. I'm the first surgery scheduled for tomorrow (I have to be there at 5:30 am), so I'm grateful for that. I can't wait to get this over with and be on the other side!
  17. Thank you so much! I'm really excited! :-)
