Hi all Well it's been a year and I'm not very good at documenting or blogging but I thought I'd let you all know that I have nearly reached my surgeons suggested goal weight only 2 kegs to go till I am 90kg - down from 135kg. Have skin removal surgery - arms and stomach - booked with Dr Kevin Ho in Sydney on the 4th of Sept - am not sure how I feel about this new body yet but will keep trying to figure it out - good luck to you all

Hi Nerms and Steveelea Thanks for your support guys - post op diet is very different to anything the Americans and other countries talk about...,,this also includes the pre-op diet and the hoops they have to jump through. If you were to compare you'd say we have it very very easy. The dieticians that I have seen ....once before surgery and once before I was discharged and that was because I asked to see them and I don't see them again for 2 weeks. The advice and guidelines are very flexible and no real guidelines other than firsts few days post surgery is /icechips/sips water until you have the X-ray and awful drink/radioactive crap to x-ray view that there is no leaks then they progress you to fluids or straw diet - anything that fits through a straw - they also advocate optifast smoothies for diet/nutrient benefits - I hate them so have been drinking anything I can make into soup/fluid consistency with real foods and fruit smoothies - even allowed icecream, jelly, fruit juice etc etc I have to say this laxidaisial approach made me really nervous and they basically say listen to your body. Going for small walks a couple of times a day so feeling pretty good really Hope everyone else is doing well Night

Thanks Steveelea I am excited ........ and not - the unknown of surgery always is a little daunting and the re-plumbing for the gastric bypass seems scary but to be the person I want and need to be/become is a step I have not made lightly so I hope all goes to plan ..... I was lucky not to have to do the pre-op diet I have seen you all talk about as I was doing Bodytrim and had managed to lose some weight as well as become fitter. I hope this does not come back and bite me in the long run. Thanks for making me welcome.
