Not sure what I'm doing wrong...
JennOnHerWay posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on August 6th. Surgery went fairly well, no big complications. I went to the doctor for my 1st post op appt since the surgery last Thursday and she released me to soft foods, eating 3 meals per day and a couple of snacks. I have been getting in all my protein. I am walking about a mile everyday and doing some light exercises to get my heart rate going. I have lost 31 lbs which includes the weight I lost during my pre-op liquid diet. I am going on day 8 and haven't lost any more pounds. Any ideas? Has anyone else experienced that? I appreciate the feedback. Thank you! -

August Sleevers Check In

I am 10 days post op and I'm feeling really good...Finally! The first week was pretty uncomfortable, mostly the incision areas. But now I can sleep on my side (which is the best feeling because I am mostly a side-sleeper). :-) I am still on a liquid diet and I'm starting to feel hungry. These protein shakes are ok but I'm soooo over them. I miss chewing. :-) My first post op appt with my doctor is this coming Thursday and I will be released to have soft/puréed foods. I cannot wait! Since the 2 week pre liquid diet to this morning when I weighed myself I have lost 30 lbs. I feel good! I already have a ton of energy. I go walking everyday and that has helped a lot! I started out walking 10 min a day after surgery and now I'm up to 40 min. The night I got home from the hospital, I cried like a baby! I was mad at myself for getting to the weight I was. I was like, "Why in the world did I do this to myself!" (Talking about the surgery.) But I had to do it for myself. I have done Weight Watchers 9 times, Jenny Craig, Medi Weightloss and the list goes on and on. I was a single mom up until 3 years ago when I married my awesome hubby. Now my daughter is in college. I deserve this for me! The doc said to me, "You are a healthy fat person. You have no major health issues, no high cholesterol, no high blood pressure." I looked at her with a not so friendly look and said, "I will take this great tool you are giving me (sleeve) and I will never be called a healthy fat person again!" Then she apologized for what she had said but I needed to hear that. LOL So when you have those rough days or question "Why am I doing this??" You know what got you to the place you are. You know why you are doing this. You are doing this for YOU! You are doing this to get healthier. Hugs to all! :-) -

5 days post op - Feeling full all the time
JennOnHerWay posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my sleeve done last Weds. For the most part I'm feeling better. Still very lethargic and sore. I don't like taking the pain medication except when going to bed. Adjusting to my new stomach size. This morning I had a small thing of jello and ate it super slow and now I'm full. I was finally able to drink a 6 oz protein shake yesterday and it took me 3 hours to get that down because I felt so full. I'm hoping that will get better as my stomach heals, right? Any suggestions on what I can do to get my liquids in? -

I was sleeved yesterday morning at 7:30am. I was in my room by 10:45. I slept off and on most if the day but that evening I got up and sat in the recliner. Today the pain wasn't as bad. I got up 5 times and walked. This morning I had my swallow test which is super duper nasty. Also had an ultrasound on both legs to check for clots. I didn't get much down today. I had a sugar free Popsicle, some crystal light lemonade, I ordered broth but never sipped that. The gas pain is no fun. I go home tomorrow. Looking forward to being in my own bed. :-). Just glad it's over.... Time for my new chapter to begin! -

Weds the 6th is my surgery and I am soooo ready! I have lost 18 lbs on my 2 week liquid diet so far. That has been nice. I'm just ready for new beginnings. I've struggled with my weight for so long. I'm nervous too! Definitely scared of failing and I know that is because I haven't been successful at past diets like WW, Jenny Craig, Medifast, etc, etc. I have enjoyed reading people's posts especially these last 2 weeks. Your posts have kept me inspired and motivated! Let's Get'er Done! :-) -

Soooo...I'm making a suggestion. If you are a Pinterest Fanatic like me, DON'T open Pinterest for a while and especially while you are on your preop liquid diet. OMG...I am hungry! LOL!! :-) -

I am on Day 4 of my 2 week liquid diet. No solid foods for 2 weeks isn't all that easy. Today was the worst day as far as headaches and now my body aches and I feel weak. I was told that it should get better from here. I sure hope so. :-(. Keeping my eye on the prize! -
