Hi all, just a quick one for you , i had my gatric band fitted in october last year and since only had one fill. Since Saturday i have had alot of problem getting any sort of food or liquid downs. Although it eventually goes down it seem to feel like its getting caught near my chest bone. I would like to say for the past four months i've had quite a lot of emotional trauma and i'm wondering if it may be psychological and not actually my band. Any idea's or advice welcome Thanks

Well i'm back lol. Still haven't eaten since August Bank holiday. Had a barium meal at Derby and my band is fine, they think that my stomach has swollwn due to stress. I have nothing in my band and still can not eat. I'm now on a week of build up drinks until the consultants make a decision. Will keep you posted. Thanks Silika:thumbdown:

Hi Everyone, well i have been in hospital 6 days and what a farce, its amazing how unhelpful consultants can be when you have paid privately. After 6 days in hospital they have now decided to discharge me after being rehydrated and i have an appointment at Derby city hospital next Wednesday. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks

I had my op at Dolan Park, i have spoke to staff there but really can't afford the £125 they require. I'm booked in to Kings Mill hospital In Mansfield Notts. I'm going to ring the GP tomorrow and try and get in. I know what i am eating is not enough to keep me going, i have a very physical job as a lorry driver and feel totally drained. Usaually manage 2 cuppa soups a day and the odd sip of fresh orange juice. Thanks so much for taking time out to post me advice. Silika

Sorry whats PCT? i can't eat grated cheese even in Soup, some days i struggle with just Water, it has taken me 1 and a half hours to drink a small glass of fresh orange. Silika:cry_smile:

Please don't get down hearted I know you build yourself up to be banded and then feel like nothing had happened. Even though I've had my first fill the restriction now is not enough and I seem stuck at the same weight. And I know people mean well but the constant asking "how much have you lost this week" and the trying to explain you have no restriction can get you down. But you've got to remember this is going to change your whole life so hey four months isn't alot. We'll all still be here when you have your next stage of problems. So chill have a great Christmas xx

hi, I had my fill in October with WGA and then had my first fill three weeks later. I'm glad mine was earlier than later as it would of been so easy for me to slip back to old habits. Good luck

HI, I had my band at Dolan Park in October and the treatment was great. Can advise that you have a look at the WHY GO ABROAD website as it is much cheaper as in approximately three thousand pounds.

:notagreeI'm a transport co ordinator and involves lots of walking. Today i'm feeling it was too much too soon for work but when you have a house to pay for and bills there's no choice. Only three days to go and then i can rest i would probably recommend more time off. Hope everything goes well with the op x
