  1. Thanks Angie! I hope so!!! I could be weighing less, but I had a last supper or two or three or ....:rolleyes2:
  2. Wow! I didn't know that Dr. K did Tummy Tucks!!! Do you guys watch Big Medicine on TLC on Wed. nights? Last week, they did a tummy tuck on a woman who had a Lap Band and had lost over 150 lbs. They showed her port during the procedure and it had flipped. I was thinking IF the surgeon wasn't familiar with LapBand patients, he might have not known to flip that port over. During the surgery he told his assistant, "don't pull on that, you'll pull it out of place." Important information, I do say!!!
  3. Hi Everyone! Yup, I was in the office this morning and so happy to see Sweet Michelle! :hurray: I got a nice hug! We do need our hugs on a regular basis, you know! I am pretty excited about the surgery! AND guess what I lost 13lbs since the 15th of January! This pre-op is going well! 5 days til I am Tied2BFit! Count'em 5 days!!!:rolleyes2::hurray:
  4. Lap_dancer! You little sexy lady! Hooters shot for sure! :frown: (I'm jealous!) One Hot Mama! Very nice! And I think you're just looking beautiful! I can't wait til I have a neck!
  5. That is so funny, Mal! I just thought that about myself! Just this moment as I had to scroll from page 207 to 208 and the majority of 207 was ME! Sorry Dudes!
  6. Wow! A chatroom? I am at work or else I would venture over there and say HI! HI!!!
  7. Thanks Mona for letting us know that LA is doing okay! I've been thinking about her! Give her our best when you talk to her next!
  8. Well, BAA goes to the 10th grade. My daughter loved it there. The kids were very sweet and very respectful. They involve the parents in the learning process and all of the fun stuff. It's Seventh-day Adventist based and everyone was great! We really missed it when she graduated from the 10th grade and had to go elsewhere. I moved near the Brighton area when I separated from my ex in 2002. They had a little bus that came to our house and picked my daughter up so it made it very easy since I was working nights. Now I live in Littleton. I was in Brighton about 2 weeks ago to see my friend and I was shocked at all the new growth! Wow, you'll get your second fill on my surgery day! What time is your appt? If it's after 1230, I'll try to make sure he leaves the hospital in a good mood. LOL
  9. Brighton Adventist Academy, there on Bromley, across from the King Soopers. My college roommate taught there at the time and she referred us. It was the best place!
  10. Sorry about your Bandster He!! I am not looking forward to that part of my journey! I am looking forward to just starting, however! Hurry Hurry!!! I only work 3 and a half more shifts til my surgery! I can't wait! They called today from pre-op admitting! I can't wait to meet you too! I hope the weather is nice that evening! It's been so cold lately! Burrrr! I used to live near Brighton. My daughter went to a small parochial school there. She loved it! see ya, dee~
  11. Hey Anita and Mal! I wish we knew how he figured that goal. I know Weight Watchers says I should weight 160lbs. BUT I know I'm fine with 180. I'd love to be 130! For once in my life I'd like to be a "stick girl" -- (that's Dr K laughing at me!) When I was in high school, I remember weighing 130 and I felt great and boy was I a hottie! Or how did they refer to hotties back then? A Fox! The sad thing, is that I never thought of myself as slim or a Fox. I always felt fat and ugly! But now when I see my pictures and this old pair of jeans (yes, I have one pair of jeans from high school saved! Nerd girl that I am!) I see that I was a cutie! Anita, you're so much closer to your goal!!! WOW! Mal, have the horse, if you're that hungry! I know what you mean! BUT my problem is worse, when I work out -- I get more -- well -- more --- lets just say, I need a MAN!! Love you guys! dee~:rose:
  12. Yup, 11 days! I loved your Celebrating Smileys!!!
  13. hey! What have they done to our site?:tt1: I hate changes! :frown2: I can't stand when anything is not the same as it was before!:tt1: Everyday and everything should remain unchanged!:banghead: I shouldn't ever age!:crying: BUT 11 days and I'll be banded AND I'm so looking forward to a huge change! A New Me!!! but can someone bring back our old site! please? i'm so confused!:huh2:
  14. Great Brandy! I can't wait to meet you! I'll be banded by then!!! Can you believe that?
  15. Thanks Ms Mal! I knew it was either the 7th or the 21st... but not the 14th. Since that's the day for Lovers... ahhh... Lovers. Does anyone know of any?:tt1:
  16. hey Peeps, Did we decide to meet on the 7th of February or the 21st. I was without a pen and didn't mark my calendar.
  17. LA - Good Luck today and we'll be thinking of you!!! :pray2: We're sending you a BIG GROUP HUG!!!
  18. Kidlings! I'm baaack! Hi Everyone! Sorry, I have been a little distracted lately. I started my pre-op yesterday. So far, so good. Today, I'm at work and feeling a little tired, but it could be that I had to get up extra early this morning to drive to work! ARGH! We had about 1 inch or less on the ground and everyone on C-470 was driving like we were in a blizzard! 30 mph is a little insane, don't you think? Then you'll get the inpatient male driver - in the Tahoe who is pissed as I am at the slow traffic, then he just sits behind you flashing his lights and honking his horn! Where are the police, when you need them? Soon-to-be Teeny Tiny Tina! I know your fear about anesthesia. I had and have that fear before my surgery! I think it's a normal fear, but it's something that seems so all consuming. I kept thinking, everyone here on the board would post, "having my surgery today" then they would return, "I'm back and everything went fine." I imagined being the first one to not return. It still makes me teary thinking about it. Stop Dee! Brandy! Down 30lbs! Great!!! Do you ever have a Thursday evening free to venture down to see us at Red Robin? We'd love to meet you! LA! Be safe, be warm and post when you return! Girlie, I'll be thinking of you and sending prayers on your behalf. Wish you were be banded at Parker -- so I could give you a pre-band hug! Deevah! Welcome! You and I are almost band-twins! I'm being banded on the 29th! How's that pre-op working for you? Or did you not have to start it yet? My BMI is so high that I have to do 14 days! ARGH! It's okay, I lost a lot of weight last time! Michelle! I'm glad to hear your son, Todd is doing better. I hope they can figure out what has caused all of this. You're such a good Mom and he's so fortunate to have you by his side. Viri! You do deserve to be healthy and happy. I know it's such a huge financial commitment. Think about what you'll save on food and other things... like meds (if you're on meds) I'm on about $100 a month of meds and I know that after my surgery I can get rid of $60.00 worth. My chemstrips for my accucheck blood sugar machine is $40.00 and then the Metformin for my PCOS. I'm hoping I can get rid of those too! I know other banders who have gotten to stop those after surgery! Mal! I just want to say HI! AND I think you're the cutest! Anita! I had to lie on my license, the stupid woman at the MVD said in a very loud voice, "Do you still weigh 310?" I nodded yes and she said again, "Is 310 your current weight?" I felt like smacking her! I said, "yes!" because I wasn't about to say, "NO, I gained 50lbs in the last 8 years!" Shelbi! It was nice to see you posting again! Honey, don't let that depression monster get you! He's been at my door for about a week and I am trying my best to keep that door locked. He's not welcome in your home! Gotta run! love you! dee~ Gotta go now!
  19. LA, How many hours til your surgery? Are you all set for your trip? Is there anything you'll need while you're here in Denver? Let me know, k? I'm thinking about you!!! dee~
  20. Amieru, I totally agree with you! Carson is the best person to host that show! I watched the repeats again last night so that my daughter could see it. He's just squeezable! He's very sweet and gentle with the girls' feelings about themselves. Besides the fact that he's adorable. I loved the part when they were at the spa and he was in the tub. Silly boy! I have a really good friend who is gay and he always makes me feel pretty and special. I wonder why straight men can't do the same. Maybe because they are afraid we'll fall in love with them. Which is probably a very valid fear! Oh well.... Life goes on....
  21. OH!!!! Sorry for being such a Nosey Rosey! I think being a Police Dispatcher would be a great job! Such a challenge. Do you use a computer program when you have medical emergency calls?
  22. I know LA what you mean! What a sweet little show and what a great impact it made on her life. She cried a lot of tears each time he made a point of telling her how valuable and beautiful she is -- I felt those tears. I know being overweight as long as I have been, I am sensitive to those things. We beat ourselves up daily and when someone says or does something that tells us that we are different than what we have seen ourselves as -- it touches us deeply. Does that make any sense? I think Dr. K's scale weighs a little different than mine at home. On the day of my last pre-op, I weighed at Weight Watchers and at home and then at Dr. K's office. I weighed 3 lbs more at his office. I purposely went to WW that day so that I could check my new scale. May I ask what you do for a living?
  23. Wow! Anita! That's great! Congrats on your loss! Less than your Driver's License is the best! LA! 20lbs before you even got your band? Wonderful Wonderful! Dr. K is going to be thrilled with you! Bahot! 17lbs is great! You are doing so well! Brandymom! Celebrating your arrival in Onederland! I can't wait til I get there! Have you guys seen the new show, "how to look good naked?" I watched it tonight for the first time and I remember one of Carson's best responses to a woman who was a little overweight and feeling pretty bad about her appearance. Standing in front of a full length mirror he said to her, "Is this perfection? - No, Is this beautiful? -- Yes it is!" I loved this show!
  24. Anita, Yeah, the pink eye story was pretty funny! I laughed about that for a long time. And I felt like telling Hannah, "Mrs S. is allergic to little girls who are allergic to pink eye, so stop bugging her!" She was kind of a diva, even at the innocent age of 9. I don't know what that school was thinking, but we'd take an out of state trip once a year for each grade. I went on 3 trips a year. It was a small private academy and those trips were the greatest. A lot of good memories, that is for sure, but a lot of work too! Those teachers and parents were so committed to their children, it was such an inspiration! I know you'll do great in whatever you do. But I think you'll do really well in the school system. I was recently accepted to grad school in Nebraska and I've struggled if I want to remain in the medical field. I worked so hard to get my pre-req's done for PA school. But now I'm wondering if I need a total career change. They have this major called, Health and Human Performance - a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. I think that would be great! Just think, my entire life would change! And I think a major like that would enhance my nursing degree. Career changes are good. From geriatrics to children -- that's a good change. Working with exercise equipment at the Y would really get your motivated on a daily basis. I'd love good health and activity to become part of my daily life. Being part of my career would be ideal. I miss my smileys too! Where did they go? Smileys! Come back!
  25. Tell me again LA, is your surgery in Aurora or Parker? I work at the hospital in Parker and I'll be there on Thursday. If you'll be having your surgery at Parker, I could run down and see you! That would be great! dee~
