  2. No Problem Darling! Nice to see you here on LBT! I'm glad you're going to join our challenge! We needed a Man! I know I did!
  3. You got it Denise! I'll check my schedule and see if I am off on the 11th of June. I know Wed. is best for Bookholder. thanks!
  4. Well, let me tell you about our Dr. Kirshenbaum! He truly is a good, sincere man. He cares deeply for his patients and their well-being. This is evidenced by his behavior and the way he will go out of his way to make things happen for you. I had a difficult situation and Dr. K worked diligently for my surgery to happen. When I was finally banded, I could see he was just as pleased as I was. I have been blessed to have found him. Being nice and caring is great in a doctor, BUT what is almost more important is experience and skill. Dr. K is very experienced and very skilled with laprascopic surgery. We are all pleased with our care. Go in and talk to him in person, if you live in this area. If not, do a phone consult and you will see for yourself. Also, the icing on the cake is his office staff. Natalie his coordinator is a band patient of his also. She's very sweet and very helpful. They have been my cheerleaders and having them in my corner has made my journey that much sweeter! Good Luck! dee~
  5. Hey Pretty Lady! Thanks for the pictures! You are looking great! My favorite one is the first one you sent with the three of you in the car! Love, dee~
  6. Sidann, Don't be concerned if you don't lose until your first fill. Natalie is totally correct about that. There is a little something, we banders, call, "Bandster H*ll" -- it's the time after your post op swelling decreased and before you have your first fill. You will be absolutely starving! That's perfectly normal! Just stick to your Bander Rules about eating your protein first at every meal and do your protein between meal supplements if you get hungry early. Don't get discouraged, this too shall pass! Eating those proteins can really help with keeping your tummy satiated longer. But hunger during this time is very normal... so don't be scared! Only 3 more days til I get my fill! I can't wait! I need my fruit! I'm dying --- if you know what I mean! I'm working my last of 4 in a row and I am starting to tire. In the old days, I used to do 5 nights in a row, then I got fat, fatter and fattest and I could only do 1 in a row! So I'm back to doing my shifts together and it makes my time off, much better! I have got to get some help for my depression. I have to wonder if my hormones are trying to adjust to my weight loss.
  7. Wait Shelbi! You fell UP the stairs? Are you okay? My middle name is 'Miss Grace - NOT" -- I hope you didn't hurt yourself! do you only weigh yourself once a week? I weigh everyday, but I only record my tuesday weights. I was banded on a Tuesday, so it makes my excel graph more accurate. Did you at least have a good time? I miss family vacations!
  8. I have to tell you Lap, you look great! There is a big difference in your pictures! You look younger! Thanks for sharing the pictures of your daughter's shower. I love baby showers!

  10. Is Dr. Fedorak doing Bands? Are there several at Penrose who do bands now? My insurance would only cover Penrose last year and only one physician and he didn't do banding. So I paid cash and went with Dr. Kirshenbaum in Aurora. My insurance now covers banding as of July and they said the one doctor whom they cover is just starting to do the Lap Band. I have friends at work who want to have the Band, but I wasn't sure who the surgeon was. Just rambling here!
  11. Congratulations Grammy! That's great! So you have a brand new Grandson? That's wonderful! When I had my surgery the pre-op diet wasn't difficult at all. I lost 13lbs on it.
  12. Hey Patty-Girl! Pretty Toes! Can you do mine, next time you visit my area? I bet you're so excited about that new grandbaby girl! I love babies! All kinds of babies, With and without! I had to pay cash for my surgery, so my choices were few for docs in the US. Where do you live and is your insurance paying for your surgery?
  18. Hi Bikini, You can call his office and ask. If I remember correctly, he doesn't take any insurances... but please call his office. Dr. K's number is - 303-695-1304. Good Luck Dear. I hope you find a good surgeon who takes your insurance!
  19. Hi Bookholder! Don't you look cute in our RR pictures? I'd love the 2xl and 1xl scrubs, if you have any purple. They have a dress code here at Parker and we have to wear purple. We all look like Barney. I have probably over 100 pairs of scrubs of all different colors and baby patterns... but I can't wear any of them. Last year for my birthday a friend gave me the "next to nothing" scrubs that feel like silk. BUT they are in peach, so I can't wear them! ARGH! I'd love to get some of your other clothes too! We can do that at RR. Did you get your Body Bugg? Wednesday work for me! AND thanks for joining the challenge! 15lbs is totally respectable! Anything is appropriate! Bookholder - 15lbs Dee - 20lbs. Anyone else?

I'm glad you had a good experience so far. Many bad things can happen to patients and 99% of them have nothing to do with the patient, but with the medical professional. Be careful when you blame others for the malpractice of some doctors. I feel sorry for the average patient who puts their trust, time, money and hopes in a doctor who is not careful, professional or skilled. I hope things go well for you and your Band. Everyone deserves to be healthy and well. AND everyone deserves to have a doctor who is educated and cares about his patients when it comes to helping them use their Band as the best tool to find good health.
  21. Oh My Dear! I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept my sympathies! I am very sorry!
  22. Thanks Mal! I got a little scared! Money is tight right now and I really wanted to join the race. Do you know anyone who lives in Tollgate? I've been looking at homes there. If I moved there, I'd almost be your neighbor! What days are good for everyone for our next RR meeting? Love, :rolleyes2: dee~
