  1. Thanks Shelbi! I had a before and after up, but deleted it! The before was so dreadful! I couldn't imagine it being on the World Wide Web forever! Anyway, my daughter took my picture and we were goofying around! She told me it was like my Senior Pictures when I was standing on the stairs. She wanted to know if I wanted a huge styrofoam 90 to stand next to! When she took her Senior Pics she insisted she would not stand next to a huge 2006. She changed her outfits 4 times and the last one was this beautiful long black beaded evening gown and heels. So the photographer leaves and returns with this giant and I do mean giant, almost as tall as my 5-3 daughter - Styrofoam 2006. We burst out laughing! she took the pics, but we were laughing so hard, they are pretty funny! I had to buy one proof, just because it was such a good memory!
  2. Hi Jilly! Glad to hear you're one of the Banditos! Welcome!! I have a real issue with texture also! I have a Magic Bullet and (no Bookholder, not the one you are used giving your patients!) Anyway, I use Soy Milk (any milk would do) and a little peanut butter and fruit with my protein powders. I can't handle them being too think, so I really use a lot of milk. The Low Carb Slim Fast, Atkins and Mix1 drinks are the only ones I like that are prepared. Other than that, I drink the Isopure Clears or the Protein shots with some crushed ice and cranberry juice. I'm not good with many of the powders. And then Munchkin isn't good with the Isopures so it just proves it is a totally individual thing! Good Luck, I hope that helped!
  3. Sunshine! Yup, we've all been there! I gained 8 lbs and had to work hard to get it off. I have returned to the pre-op diet every time I've been in need of a fill and my appt. is in the future. But I realized that the last time, I didn't lose a thing! I was on it for 10 days! I'm not sure why, either! The entire Low Carb diet does that sometimes. Once I added good Carbs back into my diet, the weight started falling off of me! It's a bad time for you right now, but this will pass and things will improve and you'll be on the losing side with the rest of us losers! I promise!
  4. Thanks Dork! That's a great idea! Monday weigh in will work for me too! Although my official weigh in is on Tuesdays due to the fact that my surgery was on a Tuesday. I graph my weights on Excel every Tuesday so I can watch the trend. Sign me up for 20lbs! I know that's a lot in one month, but I'm going to try for it! That will put me at 110 loss! That gives us 31 days and I will need to lose 4.52 lbs a week. Thanks! Do you want us to weigh this coming Monday?
  5. Hey I don't blame you! If I were going to the Springs I would have done the same if not worse! I'm scared to death of being lost! That's why I do Mapquest on everything! Seriously, however, just call me.
  6. Go North on I-25 to C-470 West. Take C-470 West -- past Broadway, past Santa Fe -- and several other exits. Then turn South on to Wadsworth and you'll see the signs for Chatfield.
  7. One time Mapquest took to the parking lot of a nursing home -- when we were trying to get to a camp ground in Durango! My ex was furious at me for not getting better directions! I think Mapquest doesn't do well with the Great Outdoors!
  8. No, it's not even close to Colfax! I don't think. Take I-25 to C-470 West and then to Wadsworth. You'll see the exit.
  9. Yup Chaps Baby! Cheek Chillers? I've never heard that before, but it sure sounds tasty! AND what a visual I just got!
  10. The main entrance to Chatfield State Park is located one mile south of C-470 on Wadsworth. Make a left into the park. http://parks.state.co.us/NR/rdonlyres/D0B6A601-2F5C-44FB-B2AE-26C48F954CB8/0/ChatfieldAreaMap.pdf You'll see Fox Run Picnic area on the map

  12. Hey he's not nasty! He's in costume! I wonder if UGBF will wear a cowboy hat and chaps for me! hmmm.... I do wonder~
  13. Thanks Brandy! I would miss you too! But don't worry, I'd come back here for my fills! AND for Red Robin AND for any BBQ's AND for .... If I'm going to dream, I'm going to DREAM BIG! REALLY REALLY BIG! oops! I'm being gross again! Sorry! My daughter thinks I'm insane... she hears us giggling until all hours of the night and day! Poor girl, I think she is praying I will move there and leave her be!
  14. Mini, You're so sweet! I do feel so much better!
  15. I love it!!! Brandy, Is it getting hot in here or is it just me??? Darn it!
  16. Thanks Brandy! I know I'll need all the help I can get! Last time, 23 years ago, I eloped!
  17. I do! I'm thinking the planning needs to be just right! I have been seriously considering going as a traveling nurse to his town.. this way we could be together in person. Actually living in the same town is a good way to find out about a person, don't you think? There are several assignments out in his area of California. Ahhh Marriage! I hope I can get this poundage :scales:off so I can look hot in my wedding dress and even hotter on my wedding night!:cursing: Or maybe it's more like this!:scared2: (I'll restrain from posting that nasty banana icon!) Do I sound like I'm clearly insane?
  18. Oh YES It WOULD!!!:cursing: Could you work out all the details for me, please??
  19. I remember once I floated to the Adult ICU - which was a big bummer when you're a NICU nurse. Everyone was pretty p.o.'d at me for agreeing to go. They felt it meant they would have to go if asked. Anyway, I went as helping hands... vomited when I did trach care and vomited  again when I had to change a bed pan that had overflowed onto the bed and floor -- bad scene, not my patient. Anyway, I was a joy, I'm sure! The next day my director was so thankful that I had helped the unit out, she sent me a dozen roses. As you can guess, everyone hated me even more! You deserved the gift certificates and isn't it nice when we are appreciated! So often we as nurses are scolded and reprimanded for things, but when we do something good and out of the ordinary, no one notices. I'm glad they noticed! Here is your BIG PAT ON THE BACK! Hugs Girlie~:scared2:
  20. Wow how romantic! I love it! Can you book me and my UGBF there?

I'm interested! We can choose a different day for weigh ins or a shorter time period or a longer one. You all are the boss of me!
  22. Yup Lotza is right! And unless I am mistaken they expect you to do NO Carbs, complex or simple - and that includes all sugar.... white, brown or otherwise. He is pretty clear with all of us, if he gets in there and the liver is not the way it should be from following the pre-op diet, he will close you up without giving you the band. He has had to do that once in the past. How are you doing Lotza? Are you feeling good?
  23. The length of time on the pre-op diet - according to his website - or at least when I had my surgery was dependent upon your BMI. I had to be on it for 14 days prior to surgery. Basically it's ZERO carbs. You can have most veggies except Potatoes and I'd avoid corn too. Protein (meat) and Veggies! No other restrictions. That was my diet and as long as it hasn't been changed since January, that will be yours too.
  24. Mini! You're hilarious! We were just talking on OH how now that we've lost weight - we are able to pull our pants up over our breasts! ARGH! YIKES! We all feel like Steve Eerkle (sp?) Nerds to the max! One of the hospitals here has a "Traveling Pants" exhibit for WLS patients. They have their actual pre-WLS pants and their current pants! It was pretty neat!
  25. Patty!!! I am so happy for you! That is absolutely amazing!!! I am so jealous! I can't wait to get to Twoterville!!!
