  1. I wasn't sure when your Bandiversary was. Only 17 more pounds to go, is amazing! Did you ever think you'd make it to goal in one year? I bet you are more motivated. I'm excited about starting the BFL. I was reading last night something Dr. Oz said about our weight and what our bodies feel best at. He said that if we can go back and see what we weighed throughout our early teen years, that is most likely the weight our bodies will be most comfortable at. For me, that's 130's to 150's. I'd love to go there again. I see you got your ticker to work! GREAT! You're my fellow Husker Fan!
  2. Silly Dork! A Stopcock (not what you think!) is a device that has three openings and a lever that allows you to change which opening is open -- so you can add fill, close that opening, then remove the needle, and add more fill -- this way you don't have to remove the catheter from the port. (sorry nurses, I was trying to explain it in lay terms) (no pun intended!)
  3. Okay Jaime! I'm up for a night out with the Banditos on the 4th of November! Let's just plan it! Everyone - save the date! Oops, I forgot to mention, Yes, I will pray for you and your grandpa! Let us know how things are going, please.
  4. Patty!! I hope everything is okay. We will miss you!!! Thanks for letting us know, but please don't be gone long! Hugs, dee~
  5. Well, the girls are one thing.. think about the lower belly... yikes! Yuck! Oh my!! NO! STOP ME NOW!!! I can't go on!!! Does anyone watch the Before and AFter Plastic Surgery show on the Discovery Health Channel? Last night they had the best of the best and they had an entire hour of WLS patients. There was a woman on there, she was a school counselor and she lost 185 lbs. Her arms were exactly my arms! They had to do her surgery in three installments. A belt tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation, brachioplasty and thigh lift with butt lift too. They removed over 20lbs of loose skin.
  6. AND I'd have to run AND you all know I don't run! I think that would be the most un-pretty part of the entire ordeal.
  7. I think they might end up setting up a hit on me! That wouldn't be pretty! Now would it?
  8. Munchi, Those things happen sometimes and they don't mean anything serious. Take a deep breath and try to be patient and wait for further results. It's probably just a benign cyst. I've had many friends who have had results like that - that have turned out to be nothing. I'm putting my positive face on and I'm going to think good thoughts -- say my prayers and know things will turn out good. I love you Munchi-girl! hugs, dee~:cool2:
  9. Besides Jaime, Dr. K's seen my innards and if they aren't memorable, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS! Ha!!!
  10. I do! I work at Parker Adventist Hospital. He does his outpatient procedures at Crown Point Surgicenter which is housed in my hospital. He'll remember you -- even if he has a 1000 patients, he will always remember you, I can promise you that!
  11. I was wondering what you were thinking about Palin. I have very strong opinions on the subject, but realize that discussing politics is probably not such a good idea.:wink2: I can however say this -- CONGRATS ON THOSE 4 LBS!!!!
  12. Hey Kidlings, I am at work and just ran downstairs, (well, not ran, but walked) -- (actually, took the elevator) ANYWAY, I was in the cafeteria getting my lunch and I turned around and there he was -- Dr. K! He was on the phone, but asked how I was doing and said, that I looked good! (Thanks Dr. K! You look pretty good, yourself!) Anyway, I was so thankful that he didn't catch me with a tray full of pizza, cake, pies and onion rings! I was getting my regular Garden Burger with Jalapenos! (I can't promise, if I hadn't been on the Vegan diet, I wouldn't have been getting the pizza!!) sheesh... so close~!
  13. It's TOM time for me, so I am sad to admit that I gained 0.8lbs. :w00t::tt2::tt1::drool::tt2:
  14. Why on earth did he pull the needle out? That's insane! I am assuming he didn't use a "stopcock" --- I have heard of this happening so often! We are so fortunate with Dr. K and Tom!
  15. I remember exactly where I was when the Challenge exploded. I will never forget the day the Wall came down! I cried!
  16. I have to tell you that of all the memorial sites I've ever been to, the Oklahoma City Memorial is by far the most dramatic! It's amazing!
  17. I know Mini, isn't that amazing? Sometimes at work, I'm shocked when I talk about things that happened when I was a kid and the younger nurses, have no idea what I'm talking about. Like the other day we were talking about Patty Hearst and the nurse, I was talking with, had no idea who she was.
  18. BTW, I love your Avatar title! Very cute! I really feel for you out of town banders. It must be horrible to try to find someone to do your fills. Good Luck Jaime! Scrambled eggs were my most fave! I ate them everyday until I started my detox and I have to confess, I don't miss anything, BUT eggs! I cannot wait to eat them on the 17th!!! YEAH!!! The said part, Brandy is "was" -- and during that time, I actually was pretty cute! BUT in my mind, I felt I wasn't! I always felt so ugly, fat and disgusting! Welcome Magaines! Don't be a stranger! Come and post with us anytime! We are the best forum in the entire universe! Listen Mini-mousette! It's not that I'm motivated so much, it's more that I am so scared that I will fail at this Band business AND my big huge gigantic mouth has told everyone I know -- I don't want to be a failure in front of the whole world! THAT and I want to be a Hottie again! Once in my life! Welcome Allymb! November 19th sounds like a great day for your new birthday! You're going to love Dr. K! We all do! Later Dudes, luv, dee~
  19. Munchie! I am so sorry to hear about your sister and parents. I know I would be really upset if my girl enlisted, but I would totally -- 100% support her. You're right, she is old enough to make her own decisions. As tough as it is to be a parent of a young adult, there comes a time when we have to just close our mouths, wipe our tears, bow our heads and pray for the best. I think sometimes, this is the most difficult time of parenting. I am sure your poor sister just feels so hurt and sad. I'm glad she has you. If you think your sister wouldn't mind, I'd love to communicate with her, when she gets over there. I promise to not be too verbose. Just another person to let her know how much I appreciate her sacrifice! Tomorrow is the anniversary of 9/11. I've thought about it a lot today and yesterday. Such a sad moment in our country's history. On Monday, I said good-bye to a really good friend of mine. He left for Iraq. He's an RN and an excellent professor in the Springs. Keep doing what you're doing Munchie, supporting your sister - she's lucky to have you in her corner! hugs, dee~
  20. As a teen-ager, I was a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor. I worked at Summer Camps in Southern NM, (the hottest place on earth!) teaching kids how to swim! It was a blast AND I had the best tan and the blondest hair!
  21. Mal!!! That would be great! You know, I work out not far from your house! Maybe we could meet in the evening sometime or early early early morning and swim or work out. I can take 3 guest a month. I won a year's membership, any other way I wouldn't be there. It's such luxury! I'm so happy you're going to join us on the BFL. Just think, in 12 weeks we could have changed our bodies for the better! The website has quite a lot of information if you can't get the book.
  22. I agree with the problem of starvation mode. I stalled for over a month because I wasn't eating enough. You can drink as normal between meals. I actually drink up until my first bite and then I wait an hour after my last bite. I drink normally between meals. I have always kept my band loose because I don't want to have problems with drinking water, eating veggies and other healthy things. I agee with upping your calories. Mixing it up a little like Brandy does. I do the same thing. If you're shy on protein at the end of your day, you can introduce a protein shake or two, but it's always best to consume your protein in solid form. It sounds to me, like you're not eating much at all! The place is off of Alameda and 225. It's not far from Dr. K's office and I always go there after my fill. They have the best soup! Does anyone else know what time they close? I'll PM you my cell number and you can call me for directions. If you just get back on 225, it's a pretty straight shot to the airport. I'm terrible, but I don't remember what time your flight gets in that day. Are you coming alone? Brandy! I'm glad you're feeling better! Take care of yourself Missy!! Lifesaver! Are we on for BFL to start on the 17th? I know I'll have no problem with the eating part of it... but I was wondering if you might be interested in meeting me at Lifetime Fitness - you could get in with my guest pass - to show me some of the weight lifting work outs?
  23. That's GREAT Mini! I do the same thing now! I'm actually hoping my clothes shrink a little!!!
  24. I just wanted to tell you - I love your new Avatar! It makes me think of how I look when I'm doing the Pee Pee Dance! HA!!!
