  1. Interesting! I have found that the scale at the gym - which is large and digital. Big ole fancy scale - weighs me 2 lbs less than the one at home and Dr. K's weighs me 3 lbs less than my one at home too. I usually weigh before leaving for Dr. K's office, fully dressed as I will weigh in his office and I always weigh 3 lbs less when I get there. I'd buy a new scale just to have some accuracy. I'm okay if mine weighs me slightly more. I'd rather think I weigh more than I do,then less. I am just assuming that I weigh 2-3 lbs less than what my scale says.
  2. I think it's June 10th. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I'm actually working the 9th of June and can't make it - but I think it's the 10th.
  3. I have always wondered why some doc are so slow with their fills. Perhaps, they feel it's safer or maybe it's a way for them to make some money off their patients. I am not sure. I'm not saying this about every surgeron who does small fills, but I have a friend who's doc only gives .5 ml each fill. He does a fill a month. Can you imagine how long it would take to get good restriction?
  4. Many out of towners will fly in and get their fill, then they fly out. Few stay overnight, but I don't think it's something he requires. You can always email Natalie to check and see what he suggests. I don't think there is a hotel near his office. His office is in an odd place. Maybe you could take a taxi from the hotel to his office. I'm not sure what a taxi would cost. I know sometimes the price of a taxi for one ride is the same as the price of a one day rental car.
  5. Hey! Put me down for 3lbs lost! Thanks! I think it's much more, but it's TOM and other issues. I'm hoping to hit a high number next Monday on our final weigh in.
  6. My Goodness! That is sad news! I am sorry to hear that! BUT let's be hopeful and believe that your GP will find things are not so bad and you'll be on your way here for your Band! Let us know what you find out. Goodie! Yippie! Wow! I am doing the Happy Dance! :rolleyes2::mad: I'm not sure how many Bands Dr K has done, but you can get the exact number from Natalie. He is a very skilled surgeon and an expert in Lap procedures. The best thing to do before booking your surgery is to find a doctor in your area who will do your fills. Make sure you have someone set up before having your surgery. Some docs aren't interested in doing fills on other doctors' patients. Some fills can be very very expensive and others are not. Dr. K charges $15.00 for each fill. Some people find it cheaper to just fly here. I am just thrilled! I can't answer the question about the car leasing. Sorry! I always rent from Alamo or Budget. I rented a Prius while in NY and loved it! Congrats Susie! Welcome to the Loser's Bench!!! Julie.ann, you've done so well with your band in such a short period of time! Congrats!
  7. Before you know it, it will be here! the tech center and downtown isn't far from most places. denver is a large city, but if you hit I-25, you can get most places pretty quickly!
  8. Deb! I just checked my schedule and I am off on the 10th! I'll meet you! Let's do a Red Robin gathering that night! June 10, Wed, 7pm!
  9. Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I live here in Denver, so the only hotel I know that is ultra comfy, but not necessarily fancy is the Holiday Inn Select that is near the hospital. I've stayed there a few times during snow storms - since I work at the hospital. You're going to love Dr. K in person! I had my surgery almost 16 months ago and it's been the best decision I've ever made!
  10. Hey You're Welcome! I love our gatherings at Red Robin. We've always taken pictures. It's a way to see how much we change from month to month. Some of my before pics were taken there with our group. It gives us a great point of reference. Thanks for coming! I'm looking forward to getting to know you better!
  11. Are you talking about the 2 weeks post-op? I'm not sure of how others did, but for me, I wasn't hungry during that time. It's a time to heal and allow your band to set properly around your tummy. I had a lot of swelling post operatively and didn't get hungry at all. Others learned that frequent small liquid meals help. I loved the brocolli cheddar soup from Safeway. I put it in my magic bullet with fat free milk to make it thinner and it held me if I did get hungry.
  12. I hope you can meet us next time! Tell me what days are best for you. We can work around your schedule, if possible.
  13. I met John October 2007. He had just gotten his band and I was preparing to get mine. He came and visited me the night after my surgery. He's been a great inspiration to me! I love this picture of us! We're half the people we used to be, but so much more than we ever were!
  14. Snowgator and Halffull left before we took our picture. But John T., Dee, Julie and Mary were still there! Here is a picture of us!
  15. Yeah Baby! I'll be there! I just got back in town last night! Just kicking back and unpacking today. I will do my weigh in on Wed if that's okay, Bella!
  16. You're such a wonderful and brave woman! I bet the eulogy was beautiful. The ones done by family members are always extra special because we all know how difficult it is for that person to get up there in front of everyone during such a sad time. I think that is amazing of you. Hold tight to those stories and those sweet memories. I believe they are gifts from above. Gifts that we will have in our hearts forever. Bless you Marie! Love, dee~
  17. Monday, May 11 should work for me! thanks!!!
  18. I don't blame you Bella. I canceled my fill too. I haven't had one since Nov or December. I can't remember for certain, but I don't want to be too tight and right now, I am still okay. I think it's so scary to have a stuck episode. I got stuck on some roasted veggies about 4 weeks ago and it was the worst. It seems the healthy foods always do that. I do okay with salads - as long as there aren't any brocolli in them.
  19. I'm sorry, but we simply cannot tolerate behavior such as this!!
  20. Bella, I'm going to weigh in early for next Monday. I won't be able to weigh on Monday. Since Monday, I've lost 3.6lbs. So you can log me in for a loss of 3.6lbs for next Monday's weigh in. Thanks! dee~
  21. Bella, I lost 5.6lbs this week. I started my 100 day challenge last Sunday - I think it's working!
  22. Thinking about the last few weeks - we have dealt with some life changing events, we've come here for support and encouragement. I can't help but think of Marie and Deb this morning. My heart aches when I think of their sadness. As we grow older in life, we meet many women, all of whom have dealt with life, death and illness. We understand your struggles, because we have shared in them within our own lives. Words cannot heal or soothe as they need to, but I hope each of our words come into your lives with the sweet love and empathy they were sent with. Hugs to you all. dee~
  23. Oh Sweetie! I am so sorry to hear your news. Give yourself time for it to sink in - embrace your Mom and siblings... take their support and their love as you offer yours to them. My heart aches for you. I know the pain of losing a father. I still miss him. Daily. But I am thankful for my sweet sweet memories. God blessed us with fathers who loved us. And He blessed your father with you! I Love You Lots Dear! dee~
