Sorry your having seroma issues, not fun. I have to agree on the best rest thing, it really sucks. I was on it for a little over a month because of my wound issues. Not fun at all. And I have to say this surgery kicked my butt, Bb in the end it was/is all worth it. I also agree everyone should be warned these surgeries are painful and rough on our bodies.

Tummy Tuck Scheduled- Now Tons of questions
Shalee04 replied to urnoturcar's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hi, I have only lost 5 lbs since my PS on Oct 25th. I am going in for my Revision on May 5th. I was hoping to have lost about 15 by then, But it's not going to happen. I am having issues with my thyroid meds and also I haven't been eating my Proteins like I need to. But starting yesterday I am back on the wagon to try and drop 5 lbs before revision. I will say that even tho I haven't really lost any more weight I have gone down in sizes!!!! -

United Healthcare PPO...
Shalee04 replied to Lapbanderrett's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had United Healthcare PPO and I was approved within 3 days. had my surgery within 30 days. But I had to use a Dr that was in network. They wouldn't pay any out of network for weight loss. I had a BMI of 43 and had 2 cormorbitities. So that might have played into them approving it so fast. I didn't have to do any 6 months waiting period. We sent pix, a letter from my Dr's and a letter stating what I have tried in the past to lose weight, sort of like a time line of my weight loss/gains/failures. I know each UHC policy can be different and also some companies exclude it. Good luck in your journey. -
Tummy Tuck Scheduled- Now Tons of questions
Shalee04 replied to urnoturcar's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
HI, Congratulations on your next step. I had an extended tummy tuck with an anchor cut. 9 lbs removed. I still need to lose about 25 lbs, so I wasn't at goal, but boy is it nice to not have that belly anymore. I didn't have an unfill, as it had been 9 months since my last I had had one, so I wasn't tight at all with restriction. My port was moved over about 2 -3 inches towards the middle of my tummy now. it used to be more on my side, of my belly, I didn't get a low profile port, we didn't think I would need it yet. He took out my 2 c-section scars and my hysterctomy scar when he removed my skin, and a whole bunch of stretch marks, WOHOOOOO Your going to love the new you. -
Juli, Glad all is going good. one day all the pain will be just a distant memory and you will LOVE the new Tiny you!!!
-
I remember LTM saying to do squats, so I made sure to do a ton in the months leading up to my surgery, I too believe it helped alot getting up and down.
-
WOHOOO Lellow, you look great!!! With my Anchor Cut I was hunched over a good few weeks. That was the worst for me pain wise.
-
I also agree that the backpain was the worst of any of it.

Should you have a Tummy Tuck before you have kids?
Shalee04 replied to Lady Lap Band's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
If it were me, I would wait till after kids to have my TT. My 1st pregnancy I gained 75 lbs. and my 2nd pregnancy was with twins. Both did a number on my tummy and muscles. -
Hmmm makes me wonder with all the bad stuff going on in the world. Recently, an 8 year old girl is kidnapped and found 3 days later dead in a suitcase in the bottom of a reservoir in Tracy, Ca. Why does your God let these things happen to good innocent people, why let kids suffer. what kind of God does that??? I was raised Christian, babtized the whole 9 yards. But as I got older and see these things happening in the world, I do/have/am questioning the "GOD" out there.

Wishing you good luck and a speedy recovery Juli.

Need Help. Panniculectomy in 11 days...now not sure!
Shalee04 replied to lapitup's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Sometimes having the Pani removed will make it easier to exercise and jump start our stalled weight loss. One can always go back in for a tummy tuck later on when finances allow it. But just to be rid of the Pani is a great joy for all of us. -
Need Help. Panniculectomy in 11 days...now not sure!
Shalee04 replied to lapitup's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Does your Gyno happen to have any pix of the Pani's he's done, Before and afters??? I would ask his office if they can give Your phone number to a few Pani patients and they can call you to share thier results, experience with this gyno doing the pani's. In june 2006 I had a open hysterectomy and I asked my surgeon if he could just lop off my fat roll (pani) he looked at me like I was nuts, I said I was serious but he said he wouldn't do that. not his speciality. sigh. Most lapband Drs want us to be at goal before TT. I still have 25 to my goal, my lapband dr wants me to lose 50 more. I had my TT at 180. 30 pounds from goal. Anyways good luck :smile2: Kelly -
If your unable to make the commitment to stop cold turkey, then drink less per day, make yourself a timeline, and by the end of say 2 weeks, or 1 month be OFF sodas completly, find something else to drink instead, and NOT a carbonated beverage. If you can do this before you get banded it will be easier. I was a soda drinker, but the thought of being healthy and thinner made me think twice about continuing to drink sodas after my band. I'll be honest for the first 9 months I didn't touch a drop, then we went to Cancun on vacation and I drank a few sips here and there, and I really didn't care for the taste anymore. I drink ice tea or crystal light, or good ol H2O with lemon. Soda is just empty calories that my body doesn't need. Good luck on your journey.
