How do I know what I really need?
Shalee04 replied to tcbgirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I agree with Mimi, Listen to your heart. I had 5 consults, 4 with different dr's and was told something different by all 4 of them. The 1st PS I saw was the one I went with as he was the most open and honest and not [pushy. Asked me WHAT bothered me the most. I knew going in I have issues with everything, BUT I also knew that I can't afford to fix it all in one surgery, and at that moment my TUMMY was what bothered me the most. I don't wear shorts very often so I can hide the thighs, as for the bat wong arms, well sure they need to be done, but I can live with them untill I win the lottery. I had an extended tummy tuck with anchor cut and also a breast lift with implants in my surgery. I don't see another surgery anytime soon as there just ins't any $$$ for it. Good luck in your next consult. -

Questions for People who have had Plastic Surgery
Shalee04 replied to AlienBandit's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Alien, everyone heals at different levels, and sometimes complications arise. SOOOOO with that said and depending on "WHAT" you are having done and WHAT your job is, (sitting, or standing, heavy lifting, ect) your time off all depends on all these things. I unfortunatly had a complication and was in bed for almost 5 weeks because of it. Even if I would have not had issues, I still needed help for the first week with everything, I had an extended tummy tuck with the anchor cut, breast lift and implants. little things like going to the bathroom I needed help with. (yeah not fun) and if your having your arms and thighs done, then you are really going to need help. I was in a recovercy center for 2 days then a hotel near my dr for the rest of the week before I came home. Pain was managable as I had a pain pmp that delivered meds automatically for 3-4 days to my tummy tuck incision. So I would see if you can get a friend, or maybe a visiting nurse to come and stay and help you. :-) -

Ohm, whens your surgery again? -
Hi Ohm, I had a few complications, and didn't exercise for months because of them. I had a revision to my TT in May 2009 to fix where the issue was. Uhmmm I have to admit I then had become lazy with my exercise and it was hard for me to get back into it, but I did, and while I haven't gained anything right now I also haven't lost anymore. I need to "STEP" it up more and get back into it with my whole heart!

did you have your port moved?
Shalee04 replied to wannabthinagain's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My port was moved over about 3 inches in towards my middle. It was more on my left "side" I dont wear bikinies, but if I did you could not see it as I'm not so skinny that it sticks out. But if I lay on my back, then yes it sticks out a little. My hubby calls it my "beetle" -

HOw are you feeling Barbee? Remember the pain drugs are you friend right now. :-)

Hi Ohm, I had the Anchor cut tummy tuck Oct 23, 2007. I had alot of upper flab as well as lower jelly belly also. I had 9 lbs removed. You can read about my journey and there are a few pix, on "Shalees October Overhaul" right here on the Plastic surgery thread. No amount of exercise would have gotten rid of my bellies. Yes it was painful, but that's to be expected. I also had the pain pump for 3 days which I highly recomend.

Do you have to be at goal before consult with the PS?
Shalee04 replied to tcbgirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
TCB, If you don't have a good feeling with this PS, I also say run and don't look back. You will be putting your life into his hands and YOU MUST feel at ease with him. I went to 6 consults with 5 different PS'. A couple I just didnt feel at ease with, felt rushed, didn't seem to answer all my questions, ect. 2 others promised to make me a super model basically, said I would be skinny, scar and stretch mark free, and they would do it all in less then 3 hours for what I was wanting done.... Uhmmmm wow Do you have a magic wand I asked one, as he must be looking at a different body then mine. LOL The very first PS I saw was actually the one I liked from the get go, But I wanted to check out and compare Dr's and I ended up back for a 2nd consult and booked him that day. He spent almost 90 minutes the first time with me, didn't rush me, answered each and every question in plain english that I could understand, not Dr talk/words. didn't promise to make me a super model, but realistic in what he could do with what my body had to offer. explained different procedures to me, and the reasons as to why normally they don't do Arms and Thighs at the same time. I ended up haveing a Extended tummy tuck with Anchor cut , with muscle tightening and a small breast lift with implants. I love my PS and if and when I ever have the $$ to get anyting else done, I would go back to him in a heartbeat. You have to feel comfortable with Dr. :-D bottom line.!!! -
Good luck today, sending you healing thoughts!!!

Fanny Moves to Phase Two
Shalee04 replied to Fanny Adams's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hi Fanny, Sorry about the sweeling, but it happens, Do you still have drains in? I wore my compression garments 24, 7 for about 3 months!! Long time, yes but I wanted to keep everything nice and snug. I actually felt better with the garments on. Becasue I had an Anchor cut done along with my extended tummy tuck, I was hunched over a good 3 weeks. Arrgghhh my back was killing me. Again tho, ALL the pain is worth the HOT body you are going have!! WOHOOOOOOOO -
Well I became a bandster 2 years ago today.:tt2::w00t: I took the big step. I did what I said I would never do, I had weight loss surgery. And I'm glad, even with the band issues I'm having now, I'm glad I did it. While I am still not at my goal weight I am down 80 lbs:smile2: I went from a tight size 22 to a tight size 8 jeans, (1 pair), but mostly size 10's :-). I no longer wear tight XXL tops, I fit into mediums. I no longer own any granny panties, I went out and made victoria happy and purchased WAYYYY to many pairs of cute medium size panties. I also stocked up on cute bras, to fit my new boobies that my hubby bought me, because mine disappeared with my weight loss. My foot went down a size, my wedding ring from a 9 to a 5.5. I no longer have to shop in the "big girl section or stores and hope they have something cute, I shop in the "small" girl stores and always find something cute. :-) I am not a perfect bandster, I could exercise more, I could eat a little better, But I am a good bandster, I do exercise, and I do eat Good almost all of the time, even with my band that isn't working a t the moment, I make it work for me. I eat ALL my meals on a saucer at home, I practice portion control, I try and always eat my Protein first. And while I havent lost any weight in a while, I haven't gained any either. I am happy!!!! While I used to hide from the camera, I now don't mind it. I hope all my November Nymphs are well and wish you all a happy banderversary month!!!:thumbup:
